The hotel's location is fantastic, making it very convenient for both transportation and shopping. The express bus terminal is also nearby. To reach the front desk, simply exit Oita ZR Station North Exit, turn right, go through a small door, and take the elevator up to the 8th floor. Check-in is available from 2 PM. Our room was quite spacious, located at the end of the hallway and featuring large windows on two walls. Unfortunately, they were sealed shut, preventing ventilation, but the air conditioning worked perfectly. The entire hotel was very clean. Despite our three-day stay, the staff promptly replaced our yukata and towels, provided bottled water, and offered warm, attentive service throughout. Breakfast was both plentiful and exquisitely presented, featuring beautiful seasonal Japanese bento boxes. Vending machines and ice makers are conveniently located on floors such as 11 and 14. Across from the front desk, complimentary toiletries and skincare products are available for guests to take as needed. The onsen was spotless and well-maintained, with excellent service. We absolutely loved the convenience of being able to dine directly after our bath. Soaking in the top-floor bath while enjoying the panoramic city views was incredibly relaxing.
No toothbrush was provided. It was a bit inconvenient to be assigned an upper bunk locker when the occupancy rate was only 10%, but I didn't bring it up to the staff at the time, which is on me. The locker was quite small; after putting in a 29-inch suitcase, there wasn't much space left. The restroom was clean, and the vanity area with a chair was very convenient, thumbs up! ๐๐ผ
I initially chose this place because it was designed by Tadao Ando โ a raw concrete building nestled in the mountains, showcasing excellent craftsmanship. It perfectly blends nature with high technology, and a rustic feel with modern aesthetics. The room's cleanliness and facilities were, of course, top-notch. The meals truly reflected a high level of culinary skill.
Very good, excellent service, I lost my wallet and they found it for me. The bath was very comfortable, but it was a pity that private baths could not be booked. The public bath was very beautiful and the environment was quite good.
The room was very spacious and clean, and the front desk staff helped carry our luggage to the room. They were also very clear and helpful with any questions we had. Breakfast was just okay, not particularly delicious, but not bad either โ pretty uninspired. The only downside was the hotel's somewhat remote location. There's no shuttle bus to Beppu Station, so you have to take public transportation or a taxi to get to the Seven Hells. Most resort hotels in Japan offer station pick-up/drop-off, so it was a bit disappointing that this one didn't.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beppu! The views are absolutely stunning, with rooms nestled halfway up the mountain offering panoramic sea and cityscapes. Having an open-air bath right in the room, where you can soak while enjoying the scenery, is incredibly relaxing.
The hotel is within walking distance of several 'hell' attractions, which is super convenient. If you're heading to Fukuoka Airport, the airport bus stop is less than a 10-minute walk away.
The service is also quite attentive. From the moment you enter, several staff members greet you, guide you to the check-in area, and then escort you to your room for a room tour.
Dinner and breakfast were good; perhaps not the absolute best 'one-night, two-meals' experience I've had in Japan, but still very decent.
This hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Oita Station, to the left after exiting. It's also very close to Beppu. The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area, and the bedding is comfortable. The women's public bath has both indoor and outdoor pools. The complimentary ramen and ice cream in the evening are a thoughtful touch, and there's also water and snacks in the fridge.
I love this place. Itโs so chic and modern. Everywhere is an art. Itโs like a hotel inside an art museum. Rooms are spacious with a private Onsen bath in the room. Just have to beware not to soak in the Onsen right after meals or alcohol. Highly recommend to have dinner at the hotel and next door at their sister hotel. We stayed for two nights, so we tried both. The hotel is only around 10 min away from the Hells of Beppu tourist attraction. Best to drive here as the location is up on the hills but they offer free parking.
The Seawave Hotel offers great value for money. The proximity to Beppu Station is a huge plus with free parking! We used self automated check in and out hence canโt really review service of the hotel; the room, while compact, was very clean and had everything we needed. A solid choice for a comfortable and convenient onsen stay in Beppu.
Hello, everyone!
We recently stayed at this hotel, and the experience was mixed โ there are some nice touches, but also noticeable shortcomings.
**Room:**
The room was spacious but clearly outdated; furniture and interior look worn. The ventilation works, yet it still feels quite stuffy inside. It would be great if the hotel improved air-conditioning or installed mosquito screens: the sea view is beautiful, but opening the window isnโt an option because of too many insects.
**Facilities & Service:**
The only real extras are massage service and a shared onsen. Thereโs no gym, pool, or other activities โ the hotel is designed for quiet relaxation. A shuttle service is available, which is convenient, but if you miss it, getting to the hotel on your own can be quite difficult. During this stay the hotel was quite busy, and it often took a long time to catch the elevator to our floor.
**Dining:**
Breakfast and dinner can be pre-booked; the food was tasty and varied. The bar offers a pleasant atmosphere with a decent drink selection, and in the evening the lobby lounge opens with alcoholic drinks and light snacks โ a nice way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
**Location:**
The property faces Beppu Bay, yet the seaside feeling is limited โ there are few walking areas nearby, and due to insects itโs hard to enjoy the open air.
**Overall:**
A good option for a calm, onsen-style getaway with decent food and polite staff, but when the hotel is crowded, the lack of facilities and outdated rooms become more noticeable. With some modernization and better infrastructure, this could be an excellent resort.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located, about a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station, just down the alley from Takegawara Onsen. It's surrounded by restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping malls, and is close to the beach and Beppu Tower. Takegawara Onsen offers a sand bath, but I didn't try it again because I'd already tried it in Ibusuki. This is a very traditional Japanese-style hotel, with relatively large tatami rooms. The facilities appear dated, but they are very clean. There are no private showers, so you need to use the communal baths (sitz baths and hot springs). The hotel also has private baths available for reservation and a fee. Daily housekeeping is not included, so you need to leave your trash at the door each day, where it will be collected by staff. Towels and bathrobes are provided for the two days before your stay, and you can pick them up at the front desk if you need more. Since there's no room service, the bed isn't made, so you have to make it yourself. I initially thought it would be a little awkward, but it was surprisingly easy to adapt to. There is a laundry room, which costs 300 yen for unlimited use during your stay, but there are only two washers and dryers, and there's a queue during peak hours. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, answering all my questions. Breakfast is a set meal, and the restaurant staff are also very friendly. The meals are different every day during the three-day stay, which is a plus! Beppu is really comfortable and relaxing. I hope to have the opportunity to come again in the future~
TTERERSAThe views are open and expansive, but the location is a bit far from the station, nestled in the mountains. However, there's a shuttle bus available for reservation. The room includes a private onsen and both breakfast and dinner. The front desk service was attentive; even though we had an early dinner reservation and many people wanted to move theirs up, we weren't able to eat any earlier, but they did their best to maintain our original booking. Overall, it was pretty good. The room lighting was a bit dim, but generally clean.
GGuest UserIt is far from Yufuin Station and you must take a car to get there. The hotel will provide pick-up and you can call them when you arrive at the station. The room is a bit old, but clean, and comes with a private open-air hot spring. The booking type includes the use of the family hot spring, but it's nothing special. Breakfast and dinner are both very rich, and the staff will come to the room to make the bed during dinner.
Finally, the staff was very friendly and the experience was great ๐
GGuest UserThe town was quiet and uncrowded, and very clean. The Kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious. While the hotel's facilities aren't the newest, they are impeccably clean. The large communal hot spring bath was never crowded, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing soak. It's a beautiful and very peaceful onsen ryokan.

This place is truly a paradise, a real wonderland! It felt ethereal with gentle wisps of white mist drifting everywhere. We paid extra to upgrade to a large suite, offering stunning views of the distant harbor.
As soon as we pulled up the hotel's driveway, valet parking was immediately available. Among the staff, one of the valet attendants was a very handsome French guy with an exceptional service mindset. Another staff member, a tall Black gentleman (around 2 meters), even knelt down to enthusiastically explain the room types and hotel facilities to us. We were genuinely impressed and touched by their passionate service. We will definitely be returning for another stay!
The hotel's dining options are also excellent โ highly recommend trying them out!
