Kurashiki was hands down my favorite part of the trip! You can explore the charming shops in the Bikan Historical Quarter or check out the outlet mall right by the JR station. There are so many great places to eat and shop.
The hotel's location is also excellent. It's less than a 5-minute walk from the JR station via a connected pedestrian walkway.
My only slight confusion was that the hotel's exterior signage didn't seem to include 'Centurion' in its name. Without my navigation, I honestly would have thought I'd gone to the wrong place! It was only once inside, seeing the actual signage (like in Photo 5), that I knew I was at the correct hotel.
The main draw for me was the rooftop onsen; it’s not fancy but it is classic, which is good enough for me. A simple sauna, outdoor onsen, indoor one, cold plunge bath and a shower area. The room itself was compact but efficient and check in/out process was fairly simple. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the Okayama Shinkansen station so it was quite convenient to travel to other sites like Kurashiki Bikan
Going island hopping from Okayama to Uno Port (for Teshima and Naoshima) was the best decision of this art festival trip! Staying in Okayama provided food and drinks, and there were plenty of boats that didn't require a 6 a.m. queue. During the festival, you had to get up at least 6 a.m., which was much better than Takamatsu. The hotel's free bathhouse was a lifesaver for those trudging through the art festival. The vending machines were convenient for buying water, and they even had power banks for rent. The washing machine was 300 yen per wash, though I didn't use it for drying, which was enough. Laundry is so important on a long trip. Okayama Station is a five-minute walk away, with an underground passage right outside. It's surrounded by Okayama's bustling district, with major shopping malls all around. Aeon Mall, a ten-minute walk away, has my favorite Japanese brands, Niko and Frank Store. Sun Station (Is that the name?), a shopping mall just down the street from the station, also has sports and boutique stores. On my last day, I even walked to Beams, which took about twenty minutes. Next door was Big Camera, where I couldn't stop shopping. There were several convenience stores along the way, the closest being the FamilyMart downstairs. You can see the sign for Kani Doraku right as you exit the station, and the food is really good value for money. I walked to Korakuen Garden in just over ten minutes, stopped by Little Fox Cafe, and also had brunch at the nearby Gaofen Brunch Shop. I walked to the Okayama Tenjinyama Cultural Center designed by Kunio Maekawa and happened to see the Okayama Local Art Festival. It was really nice to see the architecture and art. I was originally going to go to Okayama University to see Kazuyo Sejima, but I didn't have time, so I gave up. It was perfect to go back to Okayama Station, Osaka Airport, from Okayama. I look forward to coming again next time!
The hotel is a bit away from town, but one may enjoy the ambience environment. Onsen facilities are good, nice breakfast with great choices. Dinner are set menu. quality up to standard and services are very good.
The reception is very polite and exceptionally helpful, but need to use translator to communicate with us, we will enjoy more if direct communication in English makes available.
The overall cleanliness of the hotel is perfect. The mattress and duvet of the hotel are very comfortable and clean full marks
We are driving over to the hotel staff at the door to meet have five-star enjoyment , hot spring is also very hot and clean, 2 meals service is full score, and dinner food has room for improvement, breakfast options, not much room for improvement, maybe because of winter, many shops near the hotel have been closed early, we came to this hotel is around 3:30, then very convenient to visit Law Hill City. Our stay was also the wedding anniversary the hotel was very attentive to give us a small gift thank you 👍
I had a pleasant stay!
I would have been happy if I had a blanket when I went to bed at night. .. It was a little cold because there was no air conditioner.
And I thought it would be nice if hot water came out in the washroom in the room.
Breakfast was very delicious!
I was able to spend comfortably in a very clean facility! The food was very delicious and I was satisfied! The staff were kind and I was able to stay with peace of mind!
I would like to use it if I have another chance 😊

WWK.CThe scenery is so beautiful, very comfortable and first-class service! The proprietress and the driver staff are kind and friendly! If you buy a jrpass, you can make an appointment to pick up and drop off. It’s free at Kurayoshi Station and highway tolls at Tsuyama Station, but it’s worth it. Time is money. I gave a small gift before I finally left, looking forward to going again next time!
