"We had a wonderful stay and were truly impressed by the hospitality. All the staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. The resort offers a beautiful view and is the perfect place for a beach getaway. The breakfast was delicious, although the selection was somewhat limited. We also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant by the river, where the food was excellent. Special thanks to Chef Ann for recommending some delicious dishes. There was a minor issue with our room during the stay, but it was handled professionally and resolved promptly by the hotel team. We greatly appreciate the efforts of all the staff, especially Mr. Ong and Ms. Liza, for their exceptional service and warm hospitality. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable. We look forward to returning in the future."

"If you're coming for the beach, and only for that please do go to this resort. One of the nicest beach in these Islands. Main issues where the lack of pressure in the shower ( cant get rid of the sand ) , the rooms and all of the commodities are outdated. The resort lives of the beach and its reputation. Food is alright, don't expect anything great from this. Taxi boats are mandatory to move around, price is doubled starting 7pm, so when you need to go outside to eat for example. No taxis when raining so be careful to not get stranded on the other side. Happened to us and we had to book a night in another hotel ( which was the best sleep we had our whole stay ) Rooms are decent, bed wasnt cleaned before we came in and was sandy / dirty. Lots of noise coming from the wildlife around the hotel, so if you're expecting a quiet stay, go elsewhere. The beach is very very nice, you can see turtles, sharks and lots of different species of fishes. The whole resort needs renovation. I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5, and that's only because of the beach, the fishes and the sunny weather."

"The hotel having a lounge at Terengganu Airport is a huge plus! Upon arrival, the lounge staff were incredibly helpful and quickly arranged our transfer to the jetty. Once we reached the island and checked in, everything was meticulously organized, with staff collaborating efficiently to manage all our bookings. Saiful, the restaurant manager, thoughtfully added me on WeChat to arrange our themed dinner, which was a very nice touch – thumbs up! Our customer relations manager, Hamdan, followed up throughout our stay, assisting with activity arrangements, answering all our questions, and checking in daily to see how we were doing, making us feel right at home – another thumbs up! Finally, I have to mention the fantastic location of The Taaras! The private beach view from our cliff suite was absolutely stunning! The room was spacious and well-laid out; our whole family loved it! With all the facilities at the hotel, there's no chance of getting bored. A tip for future visitors: the hotel has its own private airstrip on the island. Next time we come to Redang, we can fly directly from Kuala Lumpur with Taaras Air, saving us the hassle of the boat journey! All in all, The Taaras is the top choice for Redang Island!"

"Stayed for 3 nights. Overall, this place has so much potential. The kampung ambience is so peaceful and inviting. The old Istana (palace) transformed into rooms gave the kampung lifestyle feels. Just walking distance to the beach and the scenery of the whole resort is tranquil. Nevertheless, suggest to clean and restore the pond around the resort. Re-do the whole landscaping around the resort and plant all the local flowers, fruit trees and herbal plants. And to install more solar lights. With this new facelift of the whole sorroundings, will surely invite repeating guests. Shoutout to the friendly staffs too. (P/S: suggests to invest on bed bug spray for each room too)"

"The room is large, with a courtyard, and a little bit of a Maldivian feel, but no hair dryer was found. The food is good, the taste is OK, the ingredients are fresh, and it is slightly more expensive than other nearby restaurants. The service is still quite enthusiastic, especially the on-demand food service staff for breakfast, who are very enthusiastic and proactively ask if there are any dishes that need to be ordered. Proactive service is precious and feels very good. However, the front desk service is perfunctory, seemingly enthusiastic but not solving the problem. After waiting for a long time, no one took the initiative to tell us that we can check in. We went to the front desk to ask, and a few chatty waitresses smiled and said that it was ok now. When we left, we missed the boat because the front desk arranged to wait for the water taxi. Obviously, we were very anxious and asked many times, but the front desk told us that there was no problem. The boat is often late. I asked them to call the shipping company to inform us that we have not boarded the boat yet, and I guess there was no communication. I was speechless. The service to customers should not be just superficial enthusiasm. I hope to really solve problems for guests instead of creating problems."

"We had an overall great stay at the Perhentian Marriott Resort. The property itself is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the island is absolutely stunning. The snorkeling experience was incredible and one of the highlights of our trip. Breakfast was also excellent every morning, with a great variety and quality of food. I also want to give special thanks to the manager for arranging birthday decorations in our room. It was such a thoughtful surprise and made the celebration feel extra special. We truly appreciated the effort and hospitality. Unfortunately, the dining experience was consistently disappointing on both nights of our stay, especially for a 5-star Marriott resort. We made birthday dinner reservations in advance, only to be told when we arrived that our reservation was no longer available. After finally being seated, it took over an hour for our food to arrive. We were also told that cocktails were not being served. When I asked the manager why, he didn’t know the reason either. After he spoke with the restaurant staff, they suddenly began serving cocktails, which made the situation even more confusing. To make matters worse, our waitress forgot part of our order, and overall the dining staff seemed disengaged and unwilling to help. The level of service simply did not reflect what I would expect from a Marriott property. It’s unfortunate because the resort itself is outstanding. The beautiful location, excellent breakfast, amazing snorkeling, and thoughtful birthday room decorations made our stay memorable. However, the food and beverage service needs significant improvement to match the quality of the rest of the resort. I hope management addresses these issues, because this property has the potential to deliver a truly exceptional 5-star experience."

"We had an amazing 5-day family stay at Mimpi Hotel on Perhentian Kecil, and we are honestly more than satisfied. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The place is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning view, and everything is exactly as shown in the pictures, no surprises, just even better in real life. The hotel offers many activities, which made our family holiday even more enjoyable. The access is also easy and well organized. The breakfast is varied and very good, with something for everyone. And considering the quality of the service, the prices are more than affordable. But what truly makes this place special is the staff. They are incredibly kind, friendly, always smiling, and genuinely caring. Always available, very reactive, helpful, and attentive. They go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable. Their kindness and positive attitude made a huge difference in our stay. We also deeply appreciates the respectful and peaceful atmosphere. We leave with beautiful memories and highly recommend this hotel. We hope to come back again!"

"Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian Island) Perhentian Island, located on the east coast of Malaysia in Terengganu state, immediately brings to mind images of beaches, the sea, sunshine, and diving. Bubu Resort is conveniently situated next to the jetty at Long Beach on Perhentian Kecil, offering views of Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian Island) and stunning sunrises. The area under the jetty is also a great spot for snorkeling. During holidays, many locals bring their children here to play in the water. It's a paradise for Western tourists and a haven for diving enthusiasts. Getting there: You can take an overnight bus from TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) to Kuala Besut bus station. From there, it's just a 10-minute walk to the jetty. You can book your boat tickets online or purchase them at the counter. Additionally, there's a jetty entrance fee of RM2 and a marine park conservation fee (RM30 for foreigners vs. RM5 for locals). Layover: The last boat departs the island at 4:00 PM. If you need a place to rest while waiting for an evening bus or flight, you can book a room near the Kuala Besut jetty or bus station. As it's a small town, it's advisable to book your layover accommodation in advance, especially during peak season. Sani Bus offers rooms for rent for 3 hours, as shown in the picture below."

"Our time at Summerbay Resort was really pleasant. Very friendly staff and very good service. The deluxe pool view room was clean and had good amenities and a nice view of the pool. At no point did it feel like this trip was not worth it. The beach in front of the hotel is wel maintained with plenty of baby black tip reef sharks to see while snorkeling. The included breakfast was good, with good food and plenty of seating. For dinner though I would advise to go to Seaview cafe. The dinners and the quality of the food are amazing. Special shoutout to chef Chris for cooking delicious dinners 10/10! We're writing this review as European guest. Communicating in English was not a hassle at all."

"Although the food selection was limited, the taste was good. The hotel's location was relatively secluded, making it suitable for travelers who prefer quiet. When we first entered the room, we were struck by the strong smell of paint. The staff said it was from freshly painted rooms, but the smell made us feel dizzy and nauseous. We asked to change rooms, but the other rooms also had a strong smell. The pillows looked clean, but they were full of mold. There were many ants in the room, everywhere. I slept in one night and got several bites."
