Facilities: A bit dated, but not a major issue.
Cleanliness: Acceptable.
Location: Fantastic, very close to both the beach and the main street.
Overall, I was quite pleased with my stay. Our room type featured a balcony, which was lovely to relax on. The hotel breakfast was also good. While the pool was on the smaller side, it was still perfectly adequate for a refreshing swim.
One of the best stays in Europe vacation.. view was stunning and enjoyed every bit of our time there.. breakfast spread was amazing and sparkling wine included was cherry on top.. highly recommended ..unfortunately pool was under renovation during our however no complaints since the weather was too cold to enjoy swimming pool
Brilliantly located in Lagos, just set back from the port. Rooms are spotlessly clean and great amenities. Housekeeping crew tremendous and generally the staff are polite and on hand to help - 2 guys doing the concierge role were great. Breakfast was marvellous.
The only downside to my stay, was the spa facilities: both the steam room and sauna were out of order and the small poolside jacuzzi, was rather hit and miss.
That said, was great VFM and would certainly stay again.
Overall it is a solid 4.5 star hotel and experience. The location is unbeatable, with breath-taking beach and sea view just off the front desk, as well as our beach room. The beach room is highly recommended for someone into the ocean view. The facility and staff are great. The Mercado even sells medicine (we got Gasvicon) which my wife could use the day we were there. The only downside that makes it not a full 5 star is that the room, decoration, and furniture are a bit outdated.
Former Porta Nova Hotel since 2017 completely remodeled. Free breakfast, free Sauna and Turkish bath, free indoor and outdoor pool makes this place a bargain if you can get reasonable rates (65€ we paid per night). Buffet dinner 29€/Person + drinks is overpriced (local restaurant dinner incl. drinks is 15-20€/Person)
Breakfast buffet has huge selection, made to order eggs and stuff is a real plus.
Parking (still) free (incl. the roadside). Very nice personell all over - high recommened for Tavira! I recomend ”Restraurante O Simao” in residential area
A hotel that meets expectations. The service and customer service are excellent. The facilities, as are the rooms, are very adequate. The location is ideal for being close to the sea.
A beautiful hotel surrounded by magnificent gardens. We'd barely arrived when something unimaginable happened: a blackout on the Iberian Peninsula. The hotel managers responded in an exemplary manner: they provided information, provided everyone with a water bottle, and served cold meals and free grilled dishes in the restaurant in the evenings. The emergency generator also ran for a few hours. So, despite the uncertainty, we felt well looked after. Enjoying the sun by the beautiful pool area is also nothing to be sniffed at. The breakfast buffet was varied, including a good selection for vegans and vegetarians. We really enjoyed, among other things, the delicious, sweet fruit.
Very nice luxury hotel close to a beautiful golf course.
It has large modern rooms multiple very nice pools set in a very beautiful tropical garden environment. Very well meet up.
3-5 minutes to the marina and beach by Taxi/Uber or just take the hotel shuttle.
Would be great if they could add some soy noodles and spring rolls to their very good western breakfast.
Absolutely stunning experience! We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute of it. The hotel facilities are superb, beach and views and breathtaking. If you go on a left from the beach there is a wonderful easy hike with spectacular views, approximately 30 mins one way. Lots of even more stunning nature within 15-20 mins drive from the hotel. We will definitely be back! <3
The rooms were small and poorly cleaned. We even had to change rooms because of dirt on the curtains, and we found hair on the bed and pillows. Towels were consistently missing, a problem we observed multiple times.
The pool restrooms were always heavily soiled with urine.
The food was good, and the experience at both restaurants was incredible.
The pool temperature was great, but it was off-putting to see it full of hair.
Mosquitoes were also a major issue; even with repellent, they were relentless.

Very Good
GGuest UserWe loved this hotel by the Marina and the special welcome to my husband, who turned 60 on the day of our arrival. The kind attention was much appreciated. The room and bed were comfortable. The indoor Spa was beautiful (we did not use the outdoor pool, but it looked nice too). The breakfast was very enjoyable with lots of choices, a superbe view, and amazing live piano performances every morning from a very talented pianist (Fernando, if we are correct) . We could not have asked for more! Very convenient location for everything (old town, island boat tours, ferry, excursions, train and bus stations). Perfect!
YYaoThe best four-star hotel, I will go to portimao again because of this hotel, there is a very comfortable balcony, there is a swimming pool upstairs, the hotel also has a free shuttle bus to the beach, there is also a spa but you need to book in advance, the breakfast is also very rich and fresh. There is also a well-equipped gym, everything is very complete. It is also very close to the starting point of the pier to take a boat to see the caves and dolphins, just 3 minutes away. Great!
JJenA Cozy Getaway with a Few Quirks
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Block C in a wonderful location near the beach. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there, as the bedroom was spacious and beautifully designed. However, there were a few quirks that left us slightly puzzled.
Locating the signage for the establishment proved to be a small challenge, but it added a sense of adventure to our experience.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room left something to be desired. It struggled to keep the temperature comfortably cool, and we often found ourselves feeling a bit hot. It would be great if this aspect could be improved to ensure a more comfortable stay.
Nevertheless, spending evenings on the balcony was a delightfully cozy and relaxed experience. The ambiance was inviting and lent itself to unwinding after a day of exploration. The surrounding garden and environment added to the overall charm, and we truly appreciated the pleasant surroundings.
I highly recommend visiting this place for a minimum stay of 2 to 3 days. Anything less would make the trip feel rushed, as there is so much to explore and enjoy. Despite the minor quirks, our overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have stayed here and would gladly return for another visit.
AAnonymous UserIt's a great place to take a morning walk or a leisurely walk or jog in front of a beautiful beach. The spa is divided into time slots and requires a fee.

AAnonymous UserHotel is in perfect location within the historical site, the room is clean and comfy. Beautiful pool in the middle of the garden. Despite all ups, the downside was the service in general, however the reception was helpful when asked.
Tips:
Avoid staying the same floor as the reception because there is a staff room next to you, and the staff come to chitchat in the room and the hallway (the same hallway as guest doors, clearly echo).
Beware of hot food running out from breakfast way earlier than closing time, you cannot request those eggs, bacons, mushroom if it's runs out. even there are many guests coming in and was no hot food.
Like other comment says the hotel is full of potential and personally we think its a very peaceful & lovely place with historical charm. Just the frontline service staffs around the place still far from that so called well service.
House keeping were friendly and helpful, gardening maintained well.
Enjoyed the place and once learned to didnt expect any service, Its was the best way.
GGuest UserBooked a panoramic balcony suite - room was fantastic all you could need, x2 bathrooms, kitchenette, living area and large bed and balcony with views. The buffet breakfast had a wide range of choices and was to high standard and well stocked - really enjoyed it ! I ate a snack on the evening in the mezzanine bar, it was ok but not amazing. The quality of the red wine and attentive service in the bar was very good. Checkin and out quick and very well organised and lovely communicative staff.
My personal preferences, would be that in the evenings there is a buffet meal option, rather than pre booked restaurant or pizza as it is somewhat limiting. And minor but attention to details - a suggestion that the room stock only local/Portuguese products such as the water, should really be from Monchqiue... and provided toiletries felt a bit random a mix of English and Portuguese - felt a bit like what was just leftover rather than a collaboration and quality there.
Overall excellent stay and will definitely be back.
**TravelWithMe*Great location. 15min walk from the strip and 10 mins drive from old town. Everything was great in the hotel, rooms look great. Although we did have strong smoking smell come into our room a few nights even though balcony doors shut. The only problem I had was with the breakfast. Having allergies and dietary requirements were not really accommodated. Majority of the foods had egg in them. I emailed in about this before the stay but nothing was sorted out. I emailed a list of foods i can eat. I was also told halal food will be provided for me from the 3rd day with more variety for me. However I received no halal food/meat, and got hummus every morning out of the list I provided. Not the best but I gave up and stuck to just having potatoes and beans on bread every morning. They did bring everything from the back every morning which is a plus I guess. A couple of wrong recommendations about money exchange from reception too. Otherwise really good hotel.
NNaveen inder singhAt best its a 4star property. During our stay hotel wasnt at its best, so ill put 3.5 stars.
Hotel entrance looks like a train station waiting room.
For a moment we thought that we are underground as its dark everywhere inside the hotel. Toilets were smelly on the entrance ground, Windows were cleaned on Christmas last year i think. Dirty floors.
Rooms are dingy, but spacious.. Lots of cupboard space. you cant use the mirrors in bath area as its too dark. Water in Toilet bowl keeps on going unless you fiddle with the push buttons. TV Remote was filthy.
Towels are from the 10th century, use with care! Toiletries are basic brands, nothing oo la la!
Breakfast is good, not excellent. Theres a live station for omelettes and pancakes. Coffee from nescafe machines with pods, again not very 5 star standard.
Stay here if you have a good price deal but not high expectations.
DO NOT EXPECT 5 STAR SERVICE! You have been warned.
