This hotel has a good location; you can walk to the observatory in the evening to get a distant view of Sakurajima volcano. The complimentary tea bags offered by the hotel were also quite nice. Overall, staying in Kagoshima offers good value for money. If I come back next time, I'd be happy to stay here again.
This hotel boasts an incredibly convenient location, just a few steps from the Kagoshima-Chuo Station gates for both local lines and the Shinkansen, right to the hotel entrance. If you plan on frequently using JR trains, this is your top choice. Beyond the prime location, the rooms aren't small, and amenities like washing machines and a smoking room are available, though there's no communal hot spring bath. The hotel offers two breakfast options: Japanese and Western, with the Japanese breakfast being more extensive. Many might worry about noise due to the proximity to the station, but in my personal experience, it was perfectly quiet for a good night's sleep. One thing to note: full room cleaning only happens on the third consecutive day of your stay. For the first two days, only a light cleaning is provided (towel and pajama replacement, and trash removal – bedding isn't changed). However, if you need a full cleaning, you can inform the front desk before 10 AM. Overall rating: 4.8!
As for cleanliness, the hotel is still new, so the room was very clean. One thing that bothered me was, was it a mistake by the cleaning staff? There were tea bags on the shelf in the room, but there was one tea bag on the shelf above it, which was neatly propped up. Are there two per room...?
The location is a bit of a walk from Yanigawa (about an 8-minute walk), but it might be good for multiple people! The location is not complicated, so you can find it easily. However, since it is outside the downtown area, there is nothing around...just another hotel or a ******** parlor! It is a bit dark, so it might be a bit scary for a woman to walk there alone. There is no convenience store nearby, so be careful!
The necessary facilities and amenities are available. There were separate pajamas for top and bottom. The bath was a type without a bathtub.
In terms of service, I had booked a single non-smoking room, but they upgraded me to a double room because there was a vacancy ^ ^
The location is superb, room was clean, spacious and with a nice balcony. The room provided all you need on a leisure trip.
The only downside was it was super complicated and time consuming to contact the hostel for entrance pin, check-in procedure and check-in number. We asked the front desk receptionist of our previous hotel to call the hostel number stated on trip.com booking confirmation email in morning, but no one picked up; called again at 3pm, and the hostel hotline said the number was wrong and referred us to call another number. If we did not have the assistance from a Japanese local receptionist from another hotel, I dont think we could get the entrance pin and check-in procedure information smoothly.
I recommend this hostel to Japanese local, or tourists with a Japanese mobile number to make calls/able to find assistance from Japanese local people.
It's very clean, and the bedding and toiletries are brand new. On the first floor, the lobby offers a variety of DHC cleansers, toners, and makeup removers, so if you're not too picky, you don't even need to bring any toiletries. It's right next to the Tenmonkan shopping district, which is very convenient, and the 'Woa Ren' restaurant there is delicious. I'll definitely go back again; I really enjoyed the food in Kagoshima, and if I return, I'll stay at this hotel again.
Very well located near everything. We could walk to the water front, buy food till midnight in the neighbourhood. The clothes freshener was very convenient. 12th floor had ice and water dispensers, vending machines and a public bath. The included breakfast coud serve as our lunch. Overall we loved our stay.
Amazing hotel, truly. Conveniently located near the airport shuttle stop and tram stop. All the combini nearby, lots of restaurants and cafes. It is situated at the corner of the arcade quarters, so it is very comfortable to walk almost anywhere under the roof that protects you from both sun and rain. Walking distance from ferry to Sakurajima and toppy/rocket port to Tanegashima and Yakushima (sadly, no arcades on that stretch of distance).
The rooms are nice and clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, amenities are amazing (bath salts and coffee drips even!). The service is top-notch! They even provided a shoe drying machine and helped us on several occasions.
Probably best value for money in Kagoshima if you're looking for an affordable but comfortable stay.
the perfect remote place for onsen and sand bath relaxing treatment, fantastic rooms in Japanese style with all facility, great service twice daily, onsen bath with sea-side view at 5th floor of the hotel... restaurants and shops inside the hotel, bicycle available, restaurants and supermarkets in the near of the hotel, friendly hotel staff - just incedible nice and helpful !
The portion for dinner was a lot, but the fruit was a slice of orange and two thin mangoes, which was a little less than expected. Although the breakfast is only one serving, the portion is quite sufficient. There are mud hot springs, which are very special.
It was morning when we arrived at the hotel, and it was not time to check in yet. The front desk helped us to store our luggage. It was raining heavily in Kagoshima that day. After storing our luggage, we planned to take the Shinkansen to Tosu Outlets for shopping. The most touching thing was that the front desk took the initiative to hand us an umbrella. After checking in in the afternoon, we found that the room could easily open two 28 suitcases, which was a pleasant surprise. In short, it was a very good experience.

Very Good
SShalajiangfanqiejiangThe river view room has a beautiful scenery. Outside the window is a clear blue-green river. Breakfast and dinner are fresh local ingredients, mainly fish. There is a bus stop at the door: Xiaoyuanxuan.
GGuest UserThe location may be inconvenient,
but it's a great place for healing purposes.
The food is delicious and the view is amazing.
There are many stars in the evening, and in the summer, you can enjoy the pool, which seems even better. The hot springs in the hotel are free, and when there aren't many people,
I was alone and took a picture of the bath.
It felt like a private bath because I could enjoy it alone.
The hot springs while looking at the sea were the best.
The hot springs are open from 5 AM to 12 AM.
I'm so happy that they operate.
And most of all, the staff were really kind.
I was impressed that they greeted me from the time I arrived at the hotel until I left.
GGuest UserSplendid sea view from a beautiful, large, bedroom.
2 beds instead of one big. This could have been better to me.
Service is excellent. People are nice, always trying to help, being resourceful on how you may handle your visit of the island. Top notch people.
The real ”could be better” thing to me is, the restaurant that close really early (8.30pm if my memory is good), does server only buffet for 80kY.
The buffet is of quality mixing Japanese, Chinese and Western styles of food. And also comes with nice desserts.
However, having the choice to get only one A la carte dish could be a real plus. I personally do not want to get a full buffet for every and each of my diners.
And if you do not have a car, finding another place to eat may become a challenge. There is nothing around at a walking distance except a supermarket.
The breakfast is definitely qualitative. And if you intend to move early for visiting, the hotel can prepare you a breakfast and a lunch box for no overcharge. Basic but good and appreciated.
To have another plus, they serves a local craft beer made with local cedar trees. Quite a good and interesting one.

GGuest UserEveryone is very friendly and it's nice at home.
The rice is very good and the beach is nearby, so it is perfect for spending a luxurious time.
This room is a wooden house with high ceilings and a touch of woody fragrance. The ceiling fan invites you to travel.
Taking a step to the balcony, the stars look very beautiful, and the sounds of various creatures come and go.
I feel that I have found something forgotten in my city life.
I want to live longer.
Thank you very much for picking up from the airport.
If you come to Ammei, please be sure to stay, I will recommend it.

SShimadaInuThis was the best island accommodation I have ever experienced.
The location is perfect for enjoying beautiful seaside views and snorkeling. Right in the heart of Kumasaki Beach, I could reach the coral reefs in just five minutes. I was even lucky enough to see a turtle while snorkeling. The water quality is amazing—incredibly clear and full of beautiful colors.
The on-site restaurant, Forest, is also worth mentioning. I ended up having all my meals there because the food was consistently excellent. I tried almost everything on the menu and enjoyed every dish. The kitchen does a wonderful job of balancing local flavors with Western-style cuisine.
The staff were always friendly, helpful, and smiling.
The only small issue was that the curtains in my room were a bit thin, so the morning sun would wake me up early.
Other than that, it was a flawless stay.
AAnonymous UserCabin lodging, clean and fully equiped. You literally park right up your cabin, easy to get things from the car, load/unload luggage etc. Staff was lovely as well. There are 2 pharmacies (sells frozen food, daily necessities, cosmetics etc) just beside so it’s convenient to get snacks. Laundry room has 2 wash&dry machines. The nearby self service yakiniku (6mins drive) was delicious too. Hotel provides a frozen bento for each paid guest per night, simple to follow instructions to heat up in in-room microwave. Bed and bathroom were clean and new, it’s a good and comfortable stay. The area is however likely farmland so it smells abit like the zoo, but close the door and the room is perfectly alright, aircon is great too. Highly recommend. Location is not too out of the way, it is more suitable for road trips than touristy things.
GGuest Usern authentic Amami community stay! A beautiful village with narrow lanes, a pristine beach within walking distance, a cafe with a top-quality local arts and crafts display, lovely service, and a friendly community! The DenPaku hotels and guest houses blend so well into the village, respecting the local atmosphere, that you hardly feel like you're staying in a hotel. If you're looking for a top-end dining experience, the hotel can provide transport up the coast to their stunning restaurant, with views that alone justify the visit. You can rent an e-bike to visit the nearby beaches. It's very close to the airport and the more touristic part of the island—without the tourists—so serene! I was there for the fireworks festival, and that was a treat! If you want an authentic Amami Island experience, head to DenPaku in Akakina!
