水漫三楼The Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula is located on Mount Treren in Brussels. In 1047, Pope Lambert II founded the Council of Saint Gudula at the cathedral and organized the transfer of the relics of Saint Gudula, which had been housed in the Church of Saint-Géry on the Isle of Saint-Géry. The cathedral's patron saints, Michael the Archangel and Saint Gudula the Martyr, are also patron saints of Brussels. The cathedral was renovated in a Gothic style in the 13th century, and the facade was completed in the mid-15th century. In the Catholic Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels, it serves as the cathedral seat of the Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels, who is currently the Primate of Belgium. Because of its location in the capital, it is often used for national Catholic ceremonies, such as royal weddings and state funerals. The south tower houses a 49-bell chime made by the Royal Esbots Bell Foundry, which is often used for Sunday concerts.
