Lingering Garden isn't very large, so you can visit it together with Xiyuan Temple, which is just a ten-minute walk away. The best times to see the autumn leaves at Lingering Garden and the ginkgo trees at Xiyuan Temple might differ, so please check recent photos before you go. Personally, I think what's most charming about Lingering Garden is its artificial hills and the interplay of light and shadow. The afternoon sunlight casting shadows of visitors and the landscape on the walls is quite enchanting.

To be honest, the Suzhou Museum is more famous for its architecture than its collection, but thankfully Professor Wu provided a vivid and engaging explanation. The tour, which I had booked for an hour and a half, actually lasted over two hours, and I learned a great deal.

Quaint little canal town. We were there during off-peak; had lunch and spent several hours exploring the attractions. The ticket included all the attractions in the town. Didn't have enough time for Luoxing Island. Recommended.

Definitely choose the night tour! Although it's more expensive, it's absolutely worth it! First, there's a guided tour, and then there are six or seven performances. Just imagine, strolling through the small garden while listening to Kunqu Opera and traditional Chinese string and wind instruments—it's truly a treat.
