2-Star Hotels in Chongqing, China

Highly recommended! Even though it's in an older residential building, the hotel rooms upstairs are newly renovated with super modern facilities, including smart home features. The river view from the room is absolutely stunning. Downstairs, there are plenty of local eateries, and it's super close to many attractions, right behind the top of Hongyadong. My son and I stayed for three nights and were very satisfied.

Facilities: The gym, e-sports area, study room, and restaurant are all pretty good. Cleanliness: Both the public areas and rooms are cleaned daily and are quite clean. However, the elevator entrance on the third floor is poorly ventilated and smells strongly of shoes. Otherwise, it's fine. Environment: It's located in a commercial district, so shopping and dining nearby are convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk to Jiefangbei, and Chaotianmen isn't far either. Service: The service is very good; all requests are met.

When arrived, it is quite difficult to find the hotel. Because there is no sign or hotel's name. We would like to share how to reach the hotel. The train station is Linjiangmen. Exit 1. When we go up to the street, in front of us is times square mall, starbuck is on the left. The building is just beside the times square mall. The reception is on level 21st of the building. We like the room is big enough for 3 people and the bathroom is big as well. The view from the room is very nice. We are on top of liberation monument, which is one of the tourist destination. The staff is also very helpfull, even they could not speak english. They are using translator application, but heir willingness to assist us is really appreciated. When we revisit chongqing, we will come back here, as long as the rate is stil reasonable.

This private apartment is in a great location, right in the centre of everything and easy to get around from. Just be aware that the street it’s on doesn’t allow cars so if you taxi you would need to walk a little bit to get there (but not too far). The (quite basic) room I had was on level 33, reception is another level. The couple of elevators to get there took a long time and were always very full. Wifi worked ok most of the time. The room was fine for a short stay if you are going to be out a lot seeing things. There’s no door to the bathroom, just a fabric curtain which was fine for a solo trip but might be uncomfortable if you share it with someone.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. We were fortunate to have a river view, which created a lovely atmosphere. The staff were warm and hospitable, providing excellent service throughout our stay. The location is also very convenient—just a short walk from Xiaoshizi Station (Exit 9), and close to Hongyadong and Jiefangbei Street. If we return to Chongqing, we would definitely choose to stay here again.

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Jiefangbei. Downstairs, there's a shopping mall, and plenty of snack streets and shops, making it super convenient for food and shopping. After exploring Jiefangbei and Hongyadong, you don't have to worry about taking a taxi back – it's just a few minutes' walk, which is really great.

The bathroom is reasonably designed for dry and wet separation, clean and odorless, hot water is constant temperature and comfortable, and the overall experience of the room is very good.

The room was spacious enough, and the owner was incredibly nice and helpful! The location downstairs is super convenient for shopping, strolling around, or catching transportation. Plus, there are tons of great food options nearby. This was my fourth trip to Chongqing. Since it was New Year's Eve, almost all youth hostels had raised their prices. After a long search, I found this one that hadn't, so I chose it, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The hostel had a dedicated wall for people to post their wishes. I wrote one, and when I took a photo before leaving, I didn't expect to see, upon looking back at the picture this afternoon, that someone had drawn two hearts on my note. It felt really heartwarming. I'll definitely choose this place again if I visit Chongqing during the winter break.

This time I was in Chongqing for a business trip, which happened to coincide with the May Day holiday, so I took the opportunity to explore Chongqing for two days. It was my first solo trip, my first time in Chongqing, and my first time staying in a hostel. During check-in, a staff member showed me around the common areas like the restaurant, activity zone, restrooms, and laundry room, and explained some important details. The hostel's environment and atmosphere are fantastic, and there are even cats you can pet! Social butterflies can spontaneously organize games like Werewolf, or join in the hostel's planned activities. However, I'm not a very social person, and I spent most of my days out exploring, so I was rarely at the hostel except for sleeping at night. The common areas also feature a bar and a restaurant. I don't drink, and I wanted to try local Chongqing cuisine, so I barely ate at the hostel either. The dormitory rooms offer great privacy. There are lockers for valuables, and the bed curtains are blackout, providing complete darkness. Each bed also has its own light switch and power outlet, which is very convenient. The mattress and pillow were both very comfortable, and I slept soundly every night. Overall, the hostel has a wonderful atmosphere, and my stay was excellent. If I have the chance, I'll definitely choose to stay at '吃山' again.
