Overall the stay was great in a great location. However they don't provide toiletries, so you have to bring your own or buy from the supermarket. The room is no air conditioning in the room so if it gets hot you can only depend on opening the balcony door, and there is an old style wall heater.
This is a small place, don't make too many demands. The hotel is a super historic hotel, things are relatively old, don't mess it up. The proprietress is also very friendly and tells you all the information. Of course, wifi does not work well. . I am the spark phone booth outside. Of course, if you change your mindset, look at the scenery more and use less Wi-Fi. Make dinner by yourself and cook everything. Opposite is the lake with nice scenery, it's good to go for a walk.
Great hotel, wonderful staff, amazing sea views (if you book a sea view room), nice restaurant, free parking, comfy beds, nice showers - perfect for a night or more in Hokitika!
The motel room was clean and well-equipped. The front desk lady was very attentive and gave us a map to introduce the surrounding area of the town. Since we arrived in the evening, she also enthusiastically introduced several unique restaurants. The town is not big, and it is about 5-10 minutes drive from the town center. In short, it was a satisfactory accommodation experience.
We came here to stay by train. Although the motel is not very new, it has everything. There are supermarkets and daily necessities stores at the foot of the mountain. It takes about ten minutes to walk there. When the sidewalk is about to disappear, there is a trail connecting it in a hidden place, and you can walk to the parking lot of the grocery store.
The hotel can pick you up at the train station, which is actually very suitable for people like us who have big luggage from overseas and don’t have a car. recommend
It is alright, but not great - certainly it is worn around the edges. It is the first place I stayed in during my 3 week holiday with no fridge... So much for the by now warm riggers of beer I bought at breweries en route. The service was never with any kind of smile. The food in their restaurant was adequate and the beer was, to my taste, bland and unexciting. Staying here is not a disaster, but nor is it memorable. For the amount they must make (the room was not inexpensive) they could and should do better. But I guess it is a captive market in season, and ”just about good enough” is all they need to bother with.
A very pleasant short stay at the ASURE Gables Motor Lodge. Plenty of parking space and also near to a great restaurant just 2 mins walk away. Check in process was easy, and the lady at the reception was super friendly.
Very quaint historic hotel in the middle of Kumara, not far from Greymouth.
The room was clean and updated, as was the bathroom, with a great shower.
Only one disappointing feature was that we could hear the rain on the adjacent roof, but if it hadn’t rained, then it would be perfect. Lovely meal in the restaurant too!
It was late at night when I arrived, that is, I slept and rushed to the glacier the next morning. I slept very comfortably, but the bed was a bit small.
Very Good

Aaust_yliThe apartment we stayed in was quite new and felt pleasant. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. The Kitchen was new and well equiped. It’s in a small township near Fox Glacier. There was a view point, which was about a few minutes driver from the motel, where the view of the snow peaks and glacier was spectacular. It is also not far from Franz Joseph glacier.

GGuest UserGiven 1 for amenities as the bed was too soft and the shower was very weak and the temperature gauge was very tricky. Needed to be a plumber to set the optimum temperature.
The fridge did not work. the temperature gauge button was broken
GGuest UserI think it's one of the best legit hotel in Franz Josef. Staff are so nice. I had to cancel 1 night of my stay, as my main activity (the glacier hike) got cancelled due to bad weather. Hotel was kind enough to accommodate and refund me 1 night. Its definitely a nice place to stay.
GGuest UserWe had been advised by a relative that this hotel on the beach was worth staying at. We had a deluxe room up on the hill across the main road so we were not actually on the beach. However the view of the ocean was fantastic particularly in the stormy weather. Due to the weather we had to drive down to the restaurant for breakfast. Restaurant fully booked out by tour groups for dinner but the tavern about 1.5km down the road saw us right for a meal. The complex seemed to have several different standards of rooms and I think ours was the best.

YYilukaixuangeThe Glacier Town is indeed a little small. There are signs on the roadside. Across the road from the turn is a gas station. The Lodge consists of a wooden house and an RV camp. The boss is a young girl who studied abroad a few years ago. I met two employees who were also Chinese. There was no language barrier at all when they spoke Chinese. There are two small supermarkets around, so it's okay to replenish food. It's nice to make breakfast with the food in the room. It feels good to stay here.
