The room was quite small, and the view from the window was a messy cityscape. You couldn't even see Matsuyama Castle from the room. Both the bedding and breakfast were of mediocre quality, which meant it wasn't great value for money.
However, the location was excellent. From Matsuyama Station, you can take tram line 3 or 5 to Okaido, and the hotel is just a two-minute walk from the tram stop. The hotel is surrounded by various dining options and is very close to department stores.
- Nice location. So close to Dogo Onsen street
- Clean and quiet, relatively large room space
- Grand bath is very simple and nice, has wonderful scenary views
- Breakfast is quite good compared to the other hotels in the same class
- Basic room charge is moderate, but additional charge for kid is quite expensive.
- Overall, strongly recommended. I would stay again if I get to Matsuyama again.
If you're traveling with family, especially with your parents, this is a place I definitely recommend!! The size of the place is so huge that even if there's nothing nearby, just playing around inside the place is so much fun! The quality of the breakfast, dinner, and buffet is amazing... There's a massage shop, table tennis table, bar, and more, so there's nothing you can't find. The hot springs are amazing, and it was perfect to enjoy the hot springs while looking out at the forest. ใ ใ If I go to Matsuyama next time, this is a place I'll definitely be visiting again!!
This is a hotel with history and stories. The Japanese emperor and the great Japanese writer Natsume have stayed here. The hotel service is good and they will help deliver the luggage to the room. Check-in is at 3pm. We arrived at noon and could only go to Dogo Onsen Street for a walk and wait until after 3pm to go back to the hotel to rest. The kaiseki cuisine for dinner at the hotel is good, and the steak is very tender. There are Western and Japanese breakfast options, and we chose Japanese breakfast. The hotel's hot springs are average, on the second and third floors of the South Building, and the third floor is a cypress hot spring. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Station, which is quite close, but it is uphill from the station. We took a taxi from the hotel at Matsuyama City Station for 1,630 yen.
A good 5 mins walk away from the hustle and bustle of Imabari Station. That is a pro because the noise in hotel is less when you want quiet sleep.
I had a wonderful time here. Very clean and sanitary. Everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Netflix capable tv was a huge plus!
I will definitely stay again.
The staff at the front desk were efficient, though they came across as cold and reserved. The room was disappointing, with run-of-the-mill furniture/furnishings and a creaky chair. The lights were too dim. There was no view as the lower half of the window was blocked by a wall. On the other hand, the bathroom looked quite elegant and was kept clean.
The location is great. There are plenty of dining & shopping options nearby. The hotel has a shopping mall on the lower floors and is next to Mitsukoshi Department Store and Okaido Shopping Street. The Okaido Tram Stop is down the street. The bus stop for the airport limousine is right in front of Mitsukoshi. Attractions such as Bansuiso, Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum and the cable car to Matsuyama Castle are all within walking distance.
The REF Matsuyama City Station Hotel by VESSEL Hotels boasts an exceptionally prime location, right in the very heart of Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. It's conveniently situated right next to Takashimaya department store and the city's iconic Ferris wheel ๐ก, offering super easy access to both Matsuyama Castle and Shimonada Station.
The room itself was quite spacious. This was my first time in Japan encountering a design where the washbasin was cleverly positioned outside the main bathroom area, which genuinely made the bathroom feel more expansive. The room also came equipped with a small table and two chairs, which was incredibly convenient.
The breakfast was a particular highlight! There was a wide variety of delicious options, and everything tasted great. The sea bream sashimi, in particular, was incredibly fresh and succulent ๐. Among the five types of orange juice available, the 'Wenzhou Orange' was the sweetest โ I highly recommend anyone visiting to try it! ๐ฅณ
Nice location. It's just like an ordinary Japanese hot spring hotel, the highlight is the hot spring pool on the top floor, where you can look up at the stars at night. The dinner was average (felt like a group meal). As other reviews suggested, if you don't have a meal package, you can go to the hot spring street to eat and you might have a better experience.
The room was spacious and clean, so I was very satisfied. The bath in the building (additional charge) was also great. It's a bit disappointing that you can't use it if you have a tattoo. The bar on the top floor was also great. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety and was delicious.

DDaily happyDuring my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that also serves as a wedding venue and from the moment I arrived, the level of service was simply impeccable. The staff were not only gracious and professional, but also went out of their way to assist me at every turn, despite my lack of Japanese language skills. Their warm hospitality left a lasting impression and made me feel truly welcomed and cared for.
Though the room was compact, it was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully arranged. As a solo traveler, I found the space more than sufficient โ cozy, comfortable, and a fantastic value for the price. It truly struck the perfect balance between affordability and quality.
A special mention goes to the amenities: the hotel provides a well-stocked amenity station at the reception, where guests can freely pick up whatever they need a detail that reflects the hotelโs attention to guest convenience.
While the location is a little removed from the city center, this wasnโt an issue at all for me, as I had a rental car. The added bonus? Free parking on-site, which made my stay even more convenient and budget-friendly.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. With its blend of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches, it became a peaceful and comfortable base for my journey โ one I would gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend to fellow travelers.
QQingfengguanhongJapanese-style B&B, in addition to a good location, is also cheap. Such a small and well-equipped place only costs more than 300 yuan. (I bought three bunks and got a single room.) It is 160 meters away from Dogo Onsen. You will choose this place when traveling. ? The environment is better than I expected. I can give it 7 points for quietness. This is due to the landlord's requirements for guests and the quality of the residents.
CCHINOn New Year's Eve, I came to Nagahama and stayed in this hotel. When I dislocated the Sakamoto dragon horse, the last stop in the four countries was a must-visit place for travelers who loved the history of the end of the curtain and the restoration of Sakamoto dragon horse.
The hostess is very hospitable, and has a rich culture of history, fully appreciates the politeness, culture and introvertedness of the Japanese.
Breakfast is traditional Japanese food, I and my travel companions like it very much, because it is the New Year, the hostess also specially cooked the New Year's limited ใ stew.
Changbin town is a very quiet and beautiful place, rich house gold guard guard is the best memory in this town.
GGuest UserThe fresh fish was not simply served on a large platter, but was carefully cooked and served one by one, like in a small restaurant. I was able to enjoy my meal slowly and feel happy while sipping on some alcohol.
The room was also very clean and comfortable.
The staff were also friendly and kind, which made my heart feel fulfilled.

GGuest UserConventient location; 10 minute walk to nearest bus station, and about 30 minutes max travel time to anywhere we wanted to go!
Room was clean and compact; but the double bed is quite squeezy if you're fitting two people inside.
Buffet breakfast is 1300ยฅ if you inquire the day before you intend to eat. It is 1500ยฅ if you buy it on the day itself.
Accidentally booked a smoking room; but the staff were kind enough to change it for us once they had a room.
YYanyu11The location is fantastic, right on the main street. You can take the airport bus directly to Mitsukoshimae. A taxi to the airport costs about 2500 yen. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, which is excellent. Express buses to places like Takamatsu leave right from the hotel entrance, and there are plenty of restaurants across the street. There's a Starbucks downstairs, and it's a maximum 10-minute walk to Saka no Ue no Kumo. The tram stop outside the hotel can take you to Dogo Onsen.
TTsuiWindyVery impressive arranegment and hospitality. I had a cycling accident in Seto inland sea and requested a delay checkin. The hotel texted me to offer assistance. Upon knowing my injury, the hotel upgraded me to a big private room for which i did not have to walk upstairs to my room and there was a private bath room inside. When i arrived at late night, all food were well prepared on table whilst fresh sushi were stored in the fridge. The hotel is a traditional Japanese hostel with warm hospitality and nice massage facilities. Surely will pick it when travel there again.
