5-Star Hotels in Hunan, China

Honestly, the room was nice but was very noisy with the plane flew over occasionally during midnight. The hotel 3rd floor restaurants were not operating at night so THEY TURNED OFF THE ENTIRE FLOOR LIGHTS. Once you exit the lift, it’s pitch dark… They also turned off the lights for those conference rooms and corridors next to the washing machine areas at my room floor… It was so horrifying. Told the front desk, they said they will turn it on but nope. Nothing was done. While no other users but only our clothes were on self service washing, we returned within 10 mins after the washing timer completed. Shockingly noticed our clothes have started drying on incorrect setting. (We needed cold temp, slow spinning). It was the cleaner who “helped” us. It may be out of good wills but I personally find it inappropriate since no permissions were granted to touch or move our belongings.. The butler lady who contacted me through WeChat were also quite pushy on getting me to buy the tour tickets from her. She will keep reminding me to quickly make decisions on the ticket purchase… Intentions were questionable as my other hotel butler did not keep insisting. Nonetheless, she was still very helpful and responsive. When we arrived, there were no services and the front desk gave me the “you should have known how the hotel works” kind of look and instructed me with 2 lines:“ Breakfast at level 3, washing machine at level 5.”

Staying at the Grand Hyatt in Changsha really showed me what 'riverside view at its finest' means! Downstairs is the Wenheyou Haixin Square branch, and it's super convenient to walk to Pozi Street for snacks. The river view room is perfect for photos. Waking up to see Chairman Mao's statue in the morning mist as I pulled back the curtains was truly an awakening moment. At dusk, the rosy glow on the river, and then the light show along both banks of the Xiang River at night – every frame is like a wallpaper. The hotel's high-rise lobby and sky-high afternoon tea are also great for a visit. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and even proactively recommended must-try Changsha delicacies and sightseeing routes. The overall experience was absolutely fantastic!

The hotel is located on the banks of a river. Since the hotel name is in Chinese, it was a bit confusing for us to find at first, especially because there are several hotels lined up in the same area. However, the staff were very accommodating and helpful during check in to chek out. Our room was exactly the same as shown in the picture. The upper-floor room curtain could be more opaque for better privacy, as the transparent curtain that separates the space was not ideal. However the room can work well as a family room. Room decorations are also nice. The bed on the lower floor felt quite sturdy rather than soft. Also, the rubber slippers sole were black provided in the room even though they were wrapped in new plastic. There was no cupboard in the room. What we liked most was the terrace. Breakfast had limited variety, which was disappointing compared to what we expected. But maintaining cleanliness of dishes by keeping in closed cabinet was very nice. We also had a fantastic dinner at night which we loved it.

The hotel room was exceptionally spacious with a classic decor, and the bedding was of very high quality and incredibly comfortable. The butler service exceeded my expectations and truly impressed me. Before check-in, the butler, Grace, proactively contacted me to inquire about my needs. Throughout my stay, whatever I required, the butler responded promptly and resolved my issues, making me feel exceptionally cared for. The hotel offers a wide variety of dining options, with a diverse breakfast selection and a pleasant restaurant ambiance. Highly recommended!

The hotel's location is excellent, right at the confluence of the Xiangjiang and Liuyang rivers. Our room had a northern view, overlooking the Changsha Museum, Library, and Music Center, offering a broad and open panorama of the city's relaxed and comfortable vibe. The room layout was well-designed, with a smooth flow, making all functional areas convenient to use. The lounge's snacks were quite good, and the cocktail making was self-service. Downstairs, one side leads directly to the Beichenhui commercial complex, while the other opens to the riverside greenway, making shopping and strolling very convenient. There's also a small sports center nearby where you can play tennis, squash, badminton, etc., making it a very comfortable choice for a vacation. Finally, a big thank you to rarity and Sera for their enthusiastic assistance; the service was excellent and very personalized.

The Niccolo Changsha offers a phenomenal, truly six-star experience! The views from the 93rd floor are absolutely breathtaking. The room was spotlessly clean, elegantly designed, and equipped with high-end facilities, making for an exceptionally comfortable stay. Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, with a full selection of both Chinese and Western dishes. The authentic Changsha rice noodles were delicious and fresh, and the desserts and fresh juices were all exquisite, offering an impressive variety that never got repetitive. The service was impeccable; customer service representative NAOMI was always prompt and efficient in addressing any needs. I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a charming little bear from the front desk in the morning – such thoughtful details really made the stay extra special. The location is excellent, making travel and shopping incredibly convenient. My entire experience was fantastic, and I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Changsha!

Seriously, you guys! After the Joker Xue concert in Changsha, I practically checked into a fan's dream hotel! From check-in to check-out, I was constantly surprised, and even the room details hit all the right notes for a long-time fan like me. I absolutely have to recommend this to everyone! The hotel is super close to the Joker Xue concert venue in Changsha! After the show, there's no need to rush for a taxi or squeeze onto the subway; I just leisurely walked back to the hotel without any stress. They even had Joker Xue merch and standees, and thoughtfully provided disposable raincoats!

This was my second stay at the W, and it's been almost two years since my last visit. It offers a completely different vibe compared to the St. Regis next door. For my birthday last year, the St. Regis's butler service was incredibly thoughtful. The W's service, on the other hand, was consistently friendly with smiles all around (except for the dining staff). The W's rooms maintain their signature youthful style. This time, my room was on the 8th floor, not particularly high, but the W doesn't really boast any scenic views anyway. What I regret most is not being able to fully enjoy the hotel's breakfast due to an early high-speed train (I only managed to grab a traditional Eggs Benedict). However, from what I briefly saw, the taste was far superior to the St. Regis, and the variety and quality of the breakfast could easily rival the Grand Hyatt in Changsha.

The service at this St. Regis is the best I've experienced so far. When we arrived, the driver brought down our luggage. At first, I didn't see any staff at the entrance and was about to drag it in myself. After a few steps, a young staff member ran over, greeted us, and helped with our bags. On the ground floor, there was a gentleman in a black suit who always smiled and greeted us, and even pressed the elevator button for us throughout our stay – his attitude was excellent. After checking in, we added the hotel butlers, Vicky and Ashley, on WeChat. No matter when we contacted them, they always responded and resolved issues immediately. That's for the service. As for the hotel itself, the facilities are quite new, and the lobby on the 48th floor is very grand. The only minor point is that I often saw quite a few people taking photos in the lobby when returning at night.

I had a wonderful experience at the hotel, and Christina at the front desk truly stood out. She was incredibly helpful, professional, and always had a warm smile, making my stay even more enjoyable. Her attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to assist me made a lasting impression. Thank you, Christina, for your exceptional hospitality!
