5-Star Hotels in Taiwan, China

Overall our stay was great! This was our first time in Taiwan Kenting, we were looking for somewhere easy to go from Macau with nice holiday beach feel.  We used to go to Thailand but we wanted a change this time. Location wise it’s very convenient 2 mins walk to the night market where you have tons of food options, street stalls or restaurants wise. You have couples of 7 elevens, family mart, watsons all you need in case you forget to pack something.  There’s bus station “xiaowan” very convenient for sightseeing if you don’t rent a car. Pretty on time and big coaches very comfortable with AC. In terms of amenities, we thought the hotel could have more beach amenities, beach bar or restaurants would add a huge value for the hotel. Many families would stay all day by the beach if they have bar/restaurant. It was a shame its was closed… Also the sun lounges could be a bit more comfortable simply just add a thin cushions on top. And again would be great to have a bar for quick bite by the pool. Our room was the ground floor ones with Jacuzzi, it was a lovely touch since they don’t have bathtub in the bathroom. The little garden is a great touch for morning meditation. :) We also did a nighttime activity with the hotel by the beach to hunt crabs. It was a great activity and the staff did a great job explaining and helping out. Food wise, we had breakfast buffet in all 5 days, it was a big selection of food but not much variety. We had a lunch by lobby bar… but was not up to our taste unfortunately. There is much better options outside or hotel. Oh and they did a little decoration since it was my bday and offered a cheesecake to the room by a robot :). All in all it was a great experience hopefully they will step up the pool and beach area.

Love this hotel alot! Centrally located with numerous shopping malls, cafe, restaurants, eateries and Banqiao Station is just minutes away. Travelling to and fro airport is easy. Mega City is about 20 mins walk from this hotel. Clean and Comfortable room. We got 2 TV in room with lots of channels available. A big bed and a sofa corner for resting. On level 32, there is a nice swimming pool and jacuzzi pool. There is a gym too but I didn't have enough time to visit. Staff at reception and concierge are helpful and friendly. I also managed to get an hour extension for check out in order to enjoy a good lunch before making my trip home. Most satisfying place to stay for this trip. Great choice!

Beautiful hotel with excellent amenities for everyone! Hot spring in room was definitely an added bonus… Breakfast and Dinner buffets was one of the best I’ve had this trip with huge selection of quality produce. Thank you for an amazing restful trip!

I’m impressed. Excellent ambiance. Spacious room. Lots of varieties of book that one could choose to read. There’re quite a few interesting decors that you want to take photos. Lovely stay. Will definitely recommend to friends. We also had dinner at Papillon, a French restaurant. It was lovely and delicious.

I have nothing bad to say about this brand-new hotel itself. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the HSR station. The staff is professional and friendly, the room is spacious and sparkling clean. However, getting into the hotel is confusing. There is an inconveniently painted hotel sign on the ground, which is easy to miss. From then on, it's a guessing game. Once you leave the HSR, you have to cross an outlet and either continue walking down the street or take a bridge from the outlet to an adjacent shopping mall and enter the hotel from there. During the entire route, there are either no hotel signs or, if there are, they are very well hidden from you. I hope they can improve the directions because it's much easier to take the bridge when you carry heavy luggage with you. Other than that, the hotel is great for the price and I will definitely stay there in the future.

So why was the cleanliness and service poor. Firstly as being a weekend the price was doubled. Checked in and found the room attendants cleaning cloth in the bathroom drawer. Ok this probably was a mistake so why did the carpet need another vacuum after finding multiple crumbs! Made a complaint to the reception staff and they resent the room staff to revacuum. No compensation was offered. I won't stay here again.

We have been staying here before the pandemic, and even after the re-opening of borders, we came to Taiwan almost yearly and stayed here. Cleanliness is tip top and service good. Location is preferred if you are travelling to other counties using the train. It is also near the MRT Bannan line. However, since late 2024, no more toiletries amenities been provided, not even mineral water. Although there are water collection points, the management should at least look into providing a jug or something for users to collect the water with. Not every foreign country has the same practice of carrying their own tumbler wherever they go.

A 5 star hotel that deserves its rating. Rooms are comparable with Sheraton/Hilton etc... it's a well-oiled machine and everyone was efficient and kind. Shout out to my namesake SEAN in the Prime restaurant on the roof who took care of us with a memorable Christmas dinner. One for any short list in Taichung.

Super cold Aircon with broken remote! When turning on the shower at the end of the day there will be 3 seconds of rust water, stayed two nights and happened twice. Room 612. Other than this it was okay, there's a bus stop wrong in front of the hotel to get to Taipei which is quite convenient.

The Grand Hotel is one of the most famous hotels in Taiwan. It has a lengthy history as the first five-star hotel in the island. After living in Taiwan for a few years I decided to stay in the hotel to see what it was like. My impression is that the hotel is kind of old and is showing its age, but on the outside it still looks very distinctive. Good for taking photos. There is also the very large outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts that you can use for free, though the tennis courts seem to be fully booked at all times. I booked a room without a window to save money. The room itself is fine and I have no complaints about it, though for the price you can definitely get a bigger room elsewhere in Asia for sure. But I am already familiar with Taipei hotel prices, especially on weekends, so it is what it is. What was actually underrated about this hotel is that you can do a short hike behind the hotel and see great views of Taipei including the Taipei 101. Best to go visit on a nice day so you can get a clear view of the skyline.
