The hotel impressed me with its warm hospitality and attentive service, making the stay truly pleasant. Breakfast was a great start to the day, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to suit every taste — definitely a good choice for comfort and quality.

Appalled by the room cleanliness. Able to spot long hairs on my bedside carpet on the first day and still not vacuumed even on the day I left. Toilet walls had some mould growing (I rubbed against it and it came off). Room is spacious and aircon is strong. Breakfast had a ok variety but what's annoying is the used napkins on our tables being served as new ones. We went during a busy period but it's not excusable. Sufficient gym facilities for basis free weights and polite staff. Can do better on maintenance.

Staying at Shangri-La Surabaya was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was warm and professional — every staff member went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. The view from the room was also a plus, offering a peaceful cityscape that felt relaxing after a long day. Breakfast was a highlight — the variety was impressive, from local Indonesian favorites to Western and Asian dishes. The pool area and lush garden surroundings made it easy to forget you were in the middle of a busy city. Location-wise, it's conveniently close to malls, restaurants, and main roads, yet the hotel itself feels like a serene escape. Would definitely recommend Shangri-La Surabaya to anyone looking for a five-star experience with genuine hospitality.

This hotel has the most flawless service we have received, perhaps ever. The breakfast is magnificent. The team is incredibly attentive, and the facilities are perfect. Whether it’s for Business, family or a stay with your partner you will be over the moon with your time at Aloft Surabaya. Incredible, a must stay.

Towels looks a bit dull. Coffee machine can’t use. The shower head stand already broken. We can’t use the shower without holding because always fall down. Unfortunately the house keeping when make up the room didn’t ask the man to fix it instead just propped up the head shower. I think it will continue broken until there are guests who complain. Others are okay, breakfast very satisfactory.

Good experience overall. Room is spacious with all the amenities for a trip. The only issue was that the toilet had a lingering foul smell. The stench was quite bad on the first day, but the staff we contacted at night managed to apply some disinfecting spray which got rid/masked the smell. The smell came back the next day though but the smell wasn’t as strong as the first night, it was bearable.

love everything about this hotel! breakfast was quite good with many selections, service was excellent, next to a mall and room was one of the best in surabaya so far! this hotel is considered quite old but they still managed to keep everything like new and clean. def recommend and will be back ❤️

Booked the hotel for one night as a stop over place when arriving in Indonesia. I arrived by taxi, and the next day caught the train. I chose this hotel due to the location near the train station. It was easy for me to walk to the train station, though the traffic is very busy and not always stable footpaths - it was ok for me as I had a backpack though would not be very walkable for someone with bigger luggage. I stayed again for one night when returning by train, then flying out of the country. Hotel was nice, staff friendly. On my first night I arrived late in the evening and was able to get vegetarian food from room service. On my 2nd night I ate out in the shopping mall that is located next to the hotel. The room is clean and comfortable. I appreciated the fact that there was a bath tub. Also, I liked that there were no plastic bottles of water; each room has a jug and you get water from the dispenser in the corridor. I did not have time to try out the swimming pool. The restaurant has a morning breakfast buffet with a selection of Asian and Western style food options, including having some items made to order...you can fill up for the day.

When i entered the hotel entrance , i was so depressed. The lobby is not as what i expected. But as when you enter the room it so impressive. Front line staff very good. The way they handle unhappy guest so professional. Makes yourself feel appreciated and valuable to them.

Warm, friendly staff who gave good and practical advice about the protests and safety, much appreciated . Housekeeping was impeccable and thoughtful and really prompt with adhoc requests.  Rooms are large (size norms from a different time) and the mix of analog vintage features and updated features is charming. Clear and strong WIFI , clean rooms especially for tropical setting The buffet spread is excellent quality, clean and a good mix of delicious local and international continental options.  The spa is lovely, though service can vary - I had a lovely therapist and my friend’s therapist was using her phone during the session (which is not acceptable at any massage place, what more at this spot) incongruous with the very high service and hospitality standards set by the rest of the staff. Would come back and stay here again!
