This is a fantastic hotel. Due to flight issues, I checked in late at night, but the lobby was incredibly warm and comfortable, with a beautiful and pleasant atmosphere. The environment is truly outstanding. It faces a large park, offering lovely views, and the transportation is convenient as it's right in the city center and very close to the airport. The lobby fireplace was cozy, and the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, treating guests like family. The room was very clean and tidy, hygienic, and comfortable. It was spacious, and the bedding was excellent – clean and very comfortable to use. The bathroom was great, and the room overall was very spacious, neat, bright, and grand. Everything felt relatively new. I would definitely stay here again next time. It offers great value for money.

Guest UserIt was pretty good, though the location isn't ideal. It took us about 20-30 minutes to walk from the train station. Getting to the airport required a taxi, which was easy to hail. What stood out to me was the dryer – the room had an individual one that worked really well. On our second stay, we got a combo washer/dryer in the same room type, and that wasn't as good. So, if you need laundry facilities, try to get a room with a separate dryer. I didn't have breakfast. Check-in at the front desk was smooth and quick. The room was quite clean and hygienic. It's a new hotel with large, bright windows. The price wasn't too expensive, I remember paying around 700-800 RMB a night, even in the peak season of January. That might be because I had pre-purchased a package voucher. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it; it's good value for money. I didn't take any pictures of the room.

Guest UserThe room was decent, and the breakfast selection was a bit limited. The parking entrance was a little hard to find; you have to drive onto the sidewalk first, and parking comes with an additional charge. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the cathedral and just a short walk to the main shopping street.

Guest UserThe location is super strategic and convenient, just a few walking steps to airport, bus station to Christchurch city and place to pick up & drop off our car rental. Their receptionists are very polite and always put a big smile when we approached them. We arrived the hotel in the earlier morning and went for city walk before check in. They helped us put all our luggages inside our room before we back and a little “kiwi” soft toy was surprised for my little kid. Highly recommend!!!

Guest UserThe DoubleTree by Hilton Christchurch is excellent in every aspect. It's very close to Christchurch city center and the Botanic Gardens, and the surroundings are beautiful. Even though it was winter, you could tell the hotel's maintenance and facilities were very well-kept. The breakfast selection was also quite varied. Overall, I was very satisfied!

Trav3L bUgThe hotel was truly amazing and a wonderful place to call home for a few nights. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything! Oven, microwave, dishwasher, stove, utensils…everything! We were pleasantly surprised that there was a washing machine and dryer too! There is a working fireplace and the views were stunning ❤️Ours was the two bedroom villa; one room has a bathroom attached with a jacuzzi tub and the other bathroom is not attached to the second bedroom. This bathroom has a shower only, no tub. The second bedroom is actually two super singles joined together so you could possibly request for that configuration.
We found that the shower stall in the smaller bathroom has a poor design as water flows from the shower through the grooves between floor tiles and makes the whole place wet. This was perhaps the only down side to this place.
The good at the restaurant is reasonably priced and wonderful quality. The location of the hotel is strategic for trekking to the Rakaia Gorge and also for driving to Edoras (or Mt Sunday) where LOTR’s filming took place.

Guest UserThe location is near the city centre and the riverside market, within walking distance.
We booked a deluxe triple room with three single bed and a private bathroom, which is awesome.
However, there might be some noise from the outside during midnight which couldn’t be blocked fully by the windows.

Guest UserHaving stayed in so many hotels across the South Island, this was the first time I felt like I was back in a hotel in China. The plump manager at the front desk personally escorted us to our room and helped with our luggage – truly welcoming and enthusiastic. It's only after coming to New Zealand that you realize how much Chinese hotels pamper their guests, treating them like gods: 24-hour front desks, check-out times at 12 PM or even 2 PM, and amenities like disposable slippers readily available. They also don't rigidly charge an extra $30 per child like in New Zealand. Many hotels here simply don't have a concept of service; everything is pretty much self-service. This Sudima is one of the few hotels that can truly compare to those in China!

Guest UserLoved this hotel, it was very new and stylish. Ticked all the boxes, comfortable beds with nice pillows, we all slept well, big walking shower with great water pressure and a big TV. Nice view of the water too, however the beds were facing the wrong way to take advantage of the views.

Guest UserI stayed here alone. At first, I considered a dormitory, but I think a private room is better if you're a woman traveling solo. This place offers great value for money. It's definitely small, but having a fridge, hairdryer, and a private shower and toilet in the room was incredibly convenient. The only downside was a small gap between the door and the hallway, which let in quite a bit of noise. There was no microwave. The showerhead was fixed, and the water pressure wasn't super strong, but the hot water flowed consistently. The provided shampoo made my hair quite squeaky, so if that's a concern, you should bring your own. The hotel staff were also very pleasant. There was a gym available, so I could get a workout in. It's a hotel I'd definitely want to stay at again!
