"The staff was friendly. The room is tidy and clean with old fashioned furniture. The stay was situated slightly distanced from the main streets and would be a bit difficult to walk in heavy snow (wouldn’t be a problem if it was not snowing). The parking was convenient. One thing to note is that we could not find the amenity building and a map would help a lot. Overall, it was a valuable and comfortable stay in Banff."

"We booked a twin room with two queen-sized beds, which was more than enough space for four of us. The room had a hairdryer, iron, microwave, safe, and kettle, but no refrigerator. Slippers, toothpaste, and toothbrushes weren't provided, and I'm not sure if they're available upon request for free. Breakfast and laundry services both incur additional charges. This hotel seems to be one of the more popular options in this small town, which isn't very big, just a few streets lined with buildings. Right outside the hotel, you'll find various restaurants; while there aren't many, they offer a good range of cuisines. There's a medium-sized supermarket not too far away, stocked with fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, dairy, bread, sandwiches, eggs, yogurt, milk, and deli items. Many tourists frequent it, and their self-made thick soups are delicious and affordable. The hotel parking is paid and requires your room key to access. There's a hose in the parking lot for self-car washing, but I didn't use it as I opted to wash my car at a gas station instead."

"Located 1.8 kilometers from the bustling town of Banff, it's a bit remote and quiet, requiring driving for shopping and dining. Deer and other wildlife are found around the hotel. Maintenance wasn't provided daily. The sofa bed had worn springs, making it difficult to sleep. On my last night, I curled up on the couch. The room was large and relatively spacious, with kitchenware and tableware provided. The facilities were a bit dated, but the price was relatively affordable compared to other hotels, making it a good value."

There's free, semi-covered parking, which is great for keeping out of the rain. The complimentary breakfast wasn't extensive but definitely filling enough. The hotel encourages guests to opt out of housekeeping, citing environmental protection, but the old perk of getting a coffee shop voucher for doing so is no longer available."

"This hotel had an amazing location, so close to the town of Banff, making it super easy to get around everywhere! We arrived early, but they were kind enough to let us check in ahead of schedule and get into our room, which was a huge plus. The room itself was spacious and very clean, which I was happy with. It also had a shower room with a bathtub. In the hotel lobby, there was a free drink dispenser, which was a nice touch. While there wasn't a restaurant inside this hotel, we were able to enjoy a breakfast buffet at the hotel right across the street! Plus, there are tons of other places to eat nearby, so we really didn't have any issues at all."

Plus, the ski shuttle stop is just steps away, which is a massive plus in January. The Amenities: After a cold day outside, the 8-person hot tub and dry cedar sauna were highlights. They were well-maintained and exactly what I needed to thaw out. The Staff: From check-in to check-out, the service was genuinely warm. They were happy to provide local tips and made the process seamless. On-site Dining: We grabbed breakfast at El Toro Restaurant inside the hotel. The food was surprisingly good—definitely a step above your standard hotel fare—and very convenient on a chilly morning. A Few Considerations: Noise Levels: As some other travelers have noted, the walls are a bit thin. I could occasionally hear activity in the hallways and the hum of the heating system, though it didn't ruin my sleep. Parking: The underground parking is a great perk (especially to keep the snow off the car), but it is limited and quite tight. If you’re arriving late in the evening during peak season, you might have to hunt for a spot. Room Vibe: The rooms are clean and functional, but they do feel a bit ”classic.” If you are looking for ultra-modern luxury, this isn't it—but for a cozy, budget-friendly mountain base, it hits the mark. Final Verdict: A fantastic mid-range option for winter travelers. It’s clean, cozy, and perfectly situated. I’d definitely stay here again for the convenience and the hot tub alone!"

It felt like having a private cabin in the mountains but with all the convenience of a resort. I’d highly recommend Tunnel Mountain Resort for couples, families, or anyone wanting a true Banff escape. "The counter staff is friendly and the feeling is very comfortable. There are few breakfast options, but a simple gym is good. There is a refrigerator, microwave and bathtub, which is great. There are also many seats in the lounge on the first floor. Open-air bathing is really recommended, and it is very clean! ! I think the CP value is very high, and there is a free parking space! ! It is very convenient to drive to Banff. It is a little distance from the town, about 15 minutes walk. But overall it is still highly recommended."
