Banff Hotels with balcony

"It is a pleasant hotel with regular amenities. The beds are comfortable and the view out the windows is spectacular towards the Bow River. Unfortunately there was a shouting match between a couple from 1am-3:40am the second night as the walls do not muffle the sound as well as we would have liked. So very tired the next day or so, but the front desk said they have security on 24 hours and we should have called. Some of the items in the rooms are quaint and that's ok - they are small rooms, but we spent most of our time out in Banff or skiing, Overall they worked out."

"We booked a twin room with two queen-sized beds, which was more than enough space for four of us. The room had a hairdryer, iron, microwave, safe, and kettle, but no refrigerator. Slippers, toothpaste, and toothbrushes weren't provided, and I'm not sure if they're available upon request for free. Breakfast and laundry services both incur additional charges. This hotel seems to be one of the more popular options in this small town, which isn't very big, just a few streets lined with buildings. Right outside the hotel, you'll find various restaurants; while there aren't many, they offer a good range of cuisines. There's a medium-sized supermarket not too far away, stocked with fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, dairy, bread, sandwiches, eggs, yogurt, milk, and deli items. Many tourists frequent it, and their self-made thick soups are delicious and affordable. The hotel parking is paid and requires your room key to access. There's a hose in the parking lot for self-car washing, but I didn't use it as I opted to wash my car at a gas station instead."

"Located 1.8 kilometers from the bustling town of Banff, it's a bit remote and quiet, requiring driving for shopping and dining. Deer and other wildlife are found around the hotel. Maintenance wasn't provided daily. The sofa bed had worn springs, making it difficult to sleep. On my last night, I curled up on the couch. The room was large and relatively spacious, with kitchenware and tableware provided. The facilities were a bit dated, but the price was relatively affordable compared to other hotels, making it a good value."

"Got delayed in Vancouver and booked this last minute, so it was a leftover room, and a bit pricey. But it turned out to be a one-bedroom suite with a living room and a balcony, which was great. The room was really quiet. They have a self-service ice machine on the 2nd floor and a small hot spring bath on the 1st, both nice touches. Overall, it was good. Tip: Bring your own toothpaste, slippers, and power strip..."

"The hotel is located in a very convenient location. It is just 5 mins walk to the Elk hotel / Mount hotel. The front desk Rose Ann was very helpful and introduced us about the things can be done in Banff and the awesome food nearby. The room is very clean. The house keeping managed our room very well. The hotel also has a corner that provided 24 hour coffee, tea and chocolate. My friend and I also enjoyed the hot spring for 2 nights. It has been a wonderful stay in the Peaks Hotel. Will definitely recommend others to stay in Peaks if they travel to Banff !!!! :)"

"The room was clean and tidy, and the toiletries provided were excellent. The free coffee was also great. There's a hot spring right downstairs, and direct transportation to the city center is available. The only downside was that the bathroom cleanliness could have been a bit better 😅"

"The price was reasonable, and it wasn't far from the downtown core compared to other hotels, which made it easy to get to souvenir shops and supermarkets. Parking wasn't super spacious, but there was always a spot available. There's a gas station right next door, so it was convenient to fill up before parking if you had a rental or your own car. The front desk is in the building right next door, and checking in and out was a breeze. The best part was that the deposit refund was processed immediately. It was a huge relief not having to constantly monitor whether I'd get my deposit back, which is often a source of stress on trips. That was definitely the highlight."

"I recently stayed at Irwin’s Mountain Inn for a quick winter getaway, and overall, it’s a solid choice for those who want to be in the heart of Banff without the premium price tag of the luxury resorts. What I Loved: The Location: You really can't beat being right on Banff Avenue. It was a quick, scenic 5-10 minute walk to the downtown core for dinner and shopping. Plus, the ski shuttle stop is just steps away, which is a massive plus in January. The Amenities: After a cold day outside, the 8-person hot tub and dry cedar sauna were highlights. They were well-maintained and exactly what I needed to thaw out. The Staff: From check-in to check-out, the service was genuinely warm. They were happy to provide local tips and made the process seamless. On-site Dining: We grabbed breakfast at El Toro Restaurant inside the hotel. The food was surprisingly good—definitely a step above your standard hotel fare—and very convenient on a chilly morning. A Few Considerations: Noise Levels: As some other travelers have noted, the walls are a bit thin. I could occasionally hear activity in the hallways and the hum of the heating system, though it didn't ruin my sleep. Parking: The underground parking is a great perk (especially to keep the snow off the car), but it is limited and quite tight. If you’re arriving late in the evening during peak season, you might have to hunt for a spot. Room Vibe: The rooms are clean and functional, but they do feel a bit ”classic.” If you are looking for ultra-modern luxury, this isn't it—but for a cozy, budget-friendly mountain base, it hits the mark. Final Verdict: A fantastic mid-range option for winter travelers. It’s clean, cozy, and perfectly situated. I’d definitely stay here again for the convenience and the hot tub alone!"

"My son and I traveled to this lovely place from Jasper. The room is excellent. We chose the standard one, and were VERY impressed with the fridge/freezer, microwave oven, hob, kettle, coffee maker and saucepans etc!! The beds were really comfortable too, and the shower was great. I'd love to see the next upgraded room..... surely, it can't be that much better!! It was nice to have a lift up to our room. My son tried out the steam room and sauna, but wasn't impressed with them!! I would definitely recommend this place!!"

"The counter staff is friendly and the feeling is very comfortable. There are few breakfast options, but a simple gym is good. There is a refrigerator, microwave and bathtub, which is great. There are also many seats in the lounge on the first floor. Open-air bathing is really recommended, and it is very clean! ! I think the CP value is very high, and there is a free parking space! ! It is very convenient to drive to Banff. It is a little distance from the town, about 15 minutes walk. But overall it is still highly recommended."
