I will continue to share my parent-child travel strategies and pitfalls I have encountered. In order to avoid the June 1st peak, we set off from Shanghai in the middle of the week and found a niche tourist destination in Ninghai County, Ningbo City. This is the former residence of Xu Xiake. As a travel enthusiast, of course we must check in! Today I would like to highlight the hotel we stayed in, Ninghai Xia Ke Ju Hotel (Xu Xiake Avenue Branch). Just because of the name, it is worth a visit! 🏠The room is really big, and it’s a mountain view room! Standing in front of the window, you can have a panoramic view of the green mountains and windmills in the distance. The scenery is so beautiful😍. There is actually a large bathtub in the room. Taking a bath is not very comfortable🛀. 📖There is also a small study room indoors, which contains some books related to Xu Xiake. It is indeed the hometown of Xu Xiake, and the cultural atmosphere is super strong. 🎁The souvenirs given by the hotel are very rich, especially the paper dragon. My children loved it so much that they played with it for a long time. 🏛The lobby of the hotel is very large, and there is also the Xiake Book Bar, which is antique and perfect for taking photos in Hanfu. Our family all put on Hanfu and took many beautiful photos here. 🌃The hotel also has a rooftop. Standing on it, you can see Yangxi outside the hotel. The scenery is picturesque and it is also a good place to take pictures. 🥘The hotel also provided midnight snacks in the evening, which was really considerate. 🍳The breakfast on the second day was especially good. There were many local snacks, such as Ninghai wheat coke tube, braised bamboo shoots, wild rice, small chaos, etc., which tasted great 😋. All in all, this experience was really enjoyable and I highly recommend it to everyone! 💕"

"The hotel boasts elegant and grand decor, and the room amenities and bedding are incredibly comfortable. The food is also delicious, and I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance. My only suggestion would be to improve the lighting in the restaurant, especially for the small tables by the window. Currently, there are only ceiling spotlights, and if they don't align with the tables, it leaves the dining area in darkness. This prevents the dishes from being properly highlighted, diminishing their visual appeal and taste, and also detracts from the overall ambiance."

"I have to give a huge shout-out to Ninghai Holiday Resort! This hotel just opened on April 30th this year, so the facilities are brand new, and the experience was fantastic. The entire hotel is designed with standalone villas, offering great privacy and really giving you that vacation vibe. The environment is simply gorgeous; the landscaping is meticulously done, and the back garden is beautiful – perfect for a stroll or taking photos. The room interiors were equally satisfying: spacious, clean, and stylishly designed. A special mention goes to Coco at the front desk and Alice from the F&B department. Their service was incredibly thoughtful and warm, making us feel completely comfortable from check-in to inquiries and every meal. They truly enhanced our stay. With the added bonus of the hot springs, this stay was truly perfect. New hotel, great environment, and excellent service – I highly recommend it to anyone looking to relax in Ninghai; you won't be disappointed!"

"It was really nice; the hotel felt like it was in a forest, with fresh air to breathe. Although the layout had a vintage feel, it was clean and tidy. There was hot spring water in the room, making my face and body feel smooth after washing – it was genuine hot spring water. "A vacation is essentially about finding a different place to sleep, and Ninghai Anlan is definitely a great spot for that. The hotel is nestled atop two lush green mountains, and having the hot spring right in your room, where you can relax while soaking and gazing at the mountains, is incredibly enjoyable. The hotel offers a variety of activities you can sign up for, though most of them come with a fee. I had dinner there on the first night. While they offered river and seafood, the dishes were quite sweet, probably to cater to the many guests from Suzhou, Wuxi, and Shanghai. I personally don't care for hotels where you need to be shuttled everywhere. For my room, breakfast and dinner required a shuttle to the hotel lobby, and then another car to the restaurant. I suggest the hotel consider offering some simple breakfast options in the area where I stayed, giving guests a choice that doesn't involve so much back-and-forth. I wonder who thought that building a scenic hotel on a mountain and then relying solely on buggy shuttles was a good idea; shuttles only lead to dissatisfied guests, never satisfied ones. This is an honest review, but ultimately, it's a fantastic hotel for a quiet getaway – perfect for having coffee, reading a book, sleeping in, and truly relaxing."
