"Slap bang in the middle of Rīga, everything is walking distance, about 15 minutes tops to either direction and all the art nouveau architecture you could desire! Furthest walk was to the Holy Trinity Church, which you have to go over the bridge, but totally worth it. This hotel is mainly closest to the Orthadox church near a huge park. Breakfast has a variety, even if you're vegan too! Was impressed that you can have plant based milk hot coffees (but machine is very slow and temperamental). Would be nice to have had some vegan sausages, but you won't go hungry. The room I had was lush, very comfortable bedding, just a shame about the view, was facing the inside of the building and carpark. I would say for a 5 star hotel, coffee facilities could have been better, they were very basic, whereas other European 5 star hotels usually have a Nespresso machine or similar. Staff very friendly and accommodating of all hours of day and night!"

"Old hotel but very clean and in a perfect location. They pffer good amenities. It’s old but for the price was perfect. The only downside is the internet not being very stable. Good virw from my window."

"This hotel was incredibly convenient, located just behind the Blackhead House in the Old Town, and very close to the airport bus stop. The room was clean, and all the front desk staff were so kind, making our stay very pleasant. I'd love to stay here again if I have the chance!"

"We arrived early but couldn't check in yet. Luckily, the hotel offered a free luggage storage service, which was very helpful. The hotel environment is lovely, and there are many Instagram-worthy spots nearby. They also serve breakfast, though we didn't try it, so I can't comment on the taste. It's also conveniently located near a bus stop, which is great if you need to catch an early bus – just a 5-10 minute walk."

"I usually don't bother writing reviews, but this place had quite a few things to complain about. **Location:** It's a bit of a distance from the old town, about a 15-minute walk. However, it's conveniently located right next to a large shopping mall, making shopping and dining very easy. **First, the positives:** The room was quite spacious, just as shown in the pictures. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided. Slippers and toothbrushes were available (though you had to ask the front desk for them). **Now for the downsides:** **Service:** The female front desk staff's English was very poor, making communication a real challenge. The male front desk staff (who also seemed to be working as a bartender) had an unpleasant attitude. **Facilities:** The pillows were absolutely dreadful! The filling felt like lumpy, hard cotton, making it completely impossible to sleep! **Booking & Room Setup:** When I made the booking, I clearly specified 3 adults + 1 child (9 years old). After checking in and getting to our room, we found that the sofa bed hadn't been made up, but instead, they had provided a baby crib. When we contacted the front desk, their response was that ”their booking information indicated there was a small baby in the group.” Even so, is it reasonable to expect three adults to sleep in one bed? They eventually made up the sofa bed, but only provided a single duvet. When we asked the front desk for another duvet or to swap it for a double one, we were told that housekeeping had already left (it was 6 PM at the time), and they had no idea where the blankets were... **Late Checkout:** When I inquired about a late checkout, the front desk staff pretended to check the booking, typing away on the keyboard, only to then say, ”Sorry, we're fully booked.” However, I quickly checked online myself and saw that the same room type was clearly available on Ctrip... In my opinion, a direct 'no' would have been far better than such a disingenuous charade! **Conclusion:** Based on all of this, I won't be choosing this Mercure hotel again for my next visit."

"I had a very good experience staying at this hotel. The location is great, with tram and bus stops nearby, making it easy to get around the city. Taxis were also very easy to find whenever needed. "My first impression when arrived was its old facilities layouts. But after enter8ng my room, I was impressed with its arrangement . The bed was comfortable. Bathroom is big and clean. All bath fixtures worked well Two pillows in room 224 may need to be replaced. Breakfast was very delicious.. I recommend this hotel because of its service and just right in the Riga old town. So many restaurants within 5 min walking distance "
