Hotels in Houhai Area, Beijing

The hotel was very clean upon check-in, and the room had good natural light. The best part was how convenient it was to get to Gulou Dajie subway station, just a few minutes' walk away. It made getting to attractions and shopping areas a breeze, saving a lot of time by not having to go out of the way. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay.

The hotel's location right by the subway station makes getting around incredibly convenient. There are plenty of food options nearby, and if you don't feel like going out, food delivery is super fast. The hotel's decor is very unique, and the rooms are quite smart. The only minor drawback is that the room is a bit small, and there's not much space for two people's belongings, which can be a bit awkward when showering and changing. However, these small issues didn't detract from the overall experience. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were all very kind, friendly, and exceptionally polite. I didn't have time to try the travel photography service, but you can take great photos anywhere in the hotel. I'd definitely come back again if I have the chance.

Great hotel. Staff were amazing and always helpful. Communication was fairly straightforward even though I can’t speak Mandarin. The shadow puppet show was really cool and interesting and there was a puppet painting class afterwards that we could attend. The location was close to the Shichahai area which has a vibrant authentic night life along the river but I did not like walking through the hutongs to get home at night and the streets are a bit narrow for the taxis so this posed a bit of an issue. But I still really recommend staying here and the shadow puppet performance and attentive staff are massive selling points.

Clean, tidy, and convenient, the facilities are comprehensive and quite modern, with some smart features. It's very close to Shichahai. The service is excellent; any issues are promptly resolved. Breakfast isn't overwhelming, but it's exquisite with a good variety. They provide plenty of complimentary drinks and water. It's very close to Prince Gong's Mansion, and even closer to the famous shop where Jensen Huang drank douzhi (fermented bean milk). Tiananmen Square, Beijing North Station, the National Art Museum of China, and Beihai Park are all just a short walk away. It's even more convenient if you want to experience the hutong culture; you'll easily stumble upon former residences of historical figures like Guo Moruo. Both Beihai North and Shichahai subway stations are nearby. On my first day, I was wandering in the hutongs and couldn't find the hotel, so the manager personally came to pick me up. They offer welcome fruit on the first day of arrival and a thoughtful farewell gift upon departure. Overall, I'd give it a five-star rating. It was a much better experience than my last stay at the Capital Hotel.

The lady at the front desk was very welcoming, and the room was spotless. The location is excellent; the front desk staff even helped me find a parking spot. Anzhen Hospital is right across the street, and the subway station is only 100 meters away on foot. The rooms are equipped with smart devices, and the projector comes with a membership already set up. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

The Courtyard Hotel in Beijing really captures the essence of a traditional Chinese courtyard house, with its blue brick courtyard exuding ancient charm. The bedding throughout the room is soft and comfortable, everything is clean, and the space is quite generous. The front desk staff are attentive and very welcoming. Its proximity to Nanluoguxiang and the Forbidden City makes it super convenient for getting around. The hotel offers a peaceful retreat despite being in a bustling area, making it a perfect place to stay when visiting Beijing.

The room I stayed in this time was very quiet, not noisy at all. The front desk handled issues very quickly, and the hygiene was excellent, making for a worry-free stay. As a loyal customer, I've always highly recommended it; the value for money is great, and the experience was superb.

A lovely hotel, perfectly located to visit Beijing but also to enjoy local bars and restaurants. The girls at the reception are so kind and helpful, they patiently explained to us how everything works in China, and made some reservations to restaurants for us! There is no breakfast, but the small bar within the hotel can make a very good coffee and drought beer to enjoy on their beautiful terrace. All in all, totally recommended!

Beijing Le Meng Hotel was an excellent experience! The quadrangle courtyard is charmingly old-fashioned, full of old Beijing character. The location is super convenient, right next to Houhai and Gulou. The room was cozy and clean, and the service was attentive. Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the staff. They helped with our luggage, their smiles as refreshing as a spring breeze. The building itself is truly unique, with an artistic and three-dimensional design that really captures the essence of ancient architecture. It was wonderful for the kids to experience such a distinctive hotel. Our room was huge and spacious, offering lovely views of the lush green park through the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The bed came with three types of pillows to suit different preferences – some soft and plush, others springy, and varying heights for different age groups. The bathroom was impeccably clean and featured a unique design. All the drinks and snacks were complimentary, as were the toothbrushes, slippers, towels, and the bathtub, which was spotless. Breakfast was a special à la carte experience, complete with a coffee machine and a self-service selection of fruits and beverages. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, offering a variety of flavors that left a lasting impression.
