The Ibis Budget Lugano is a modern 2-star hotel, completely renovated in 2025. It is located in Lugano-Paradiso, a short distance from the San Salvatore funicular, the historic city center and the convention center. Open all year round, it is the ideal starting point for business trips, relaxing holidays and rejuvenating weekends. Breakfast room, soundproofed rooms, modern style and maximum comfort.
"The room was very clean, but overall had the basic necessities needed to get by. There were no charging ports by the bed, which meant we had to charge our phones by the sink (an active water outlet) which was a health and safety hazard. The bed was rock solid, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. The receptionists were really polite and made sure we had everything we needed. We saw a show at the LAC Lugano that evening which was really lovely and the hotel was conveniently located for this, but was quite tricky to find when coming from Central Lugano. The bathroom was separated into a shower and a toilet, where the sink was in the bedroom which was odd. The toilet didn’t have a lock on the door which lacked privacy and was more like a wardrobe style door, where you could hear everything going on behind it. The shower was a see-through glass door which again, lacked privacy. There were 3 coathangers to hang clothes and not a lot of storage space. The room overlooked the pool which was really lovely, and had a blackout blind to block out light in the morning. We could control the lights from a button beside our bed, which was helpful when going to sleep. However, the shower light wouldn’t turn off at night which was irritating, as when we tried to take the key card that activated the lights out, it cancelled out the power and we couldn’t charge our phones. Overall, this stay was alright for one night but we couldn’t stay here for a week. The negatives outweighed the positives massively."

"Camera molto mal tenuta, moquettes sporchissima ,ragnatela in bagno vicino al bidet che è rimasta per tutto il nostro soggiorno pertanto le pulizie non sono fatte a dovere Inoltre la reception rimane sguarnita dalle ore 20:00. "A luxury hotel with an ancient style, good maintenance in a public area, we stayed in the ancient building, a clean room but furniture needs updating. Breakfast is a wonderful meal but without vegetables, very limited for such a luxury hotel, the staff is great, we had dinner not so special for the prices."

"Located below the train station, remember to take the small shuttle bus down from the station exit; the entrance is right there. Otherwise, you'll have to walk a long way and it'll be hard to find. The hotel is a bit old, but the facilities are decent, and the room is spacious enough to accommodate most of your belongings. The breakfast was incredibly plentiful, mostly fruit—I could have all the kiwis I wanted! So happy!"

Room size was decent but no frills for room amenities, like no indoor slippers, no hair conditioner, no soap, etc. There is a parking under hotel which is shared with Ibis hotel and charged for everyday (23CHF?). We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our weekend break there."

"Luganodante definitely like you (us)! Staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Room is clean and cosy. Had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant/bistro - flame grill - awesome service! The only regret was staying there for just one night, wish we had stayed longer. Will definitely choose to stay at Luganodante again if we are back. Thank you team!
IMPORTANT TIP: please take the funicular - Lugano Città - from the Lugano Stazione to the hotel (just stop outside the hotel, very convenient). If feeling adventurous, proceed to enjoy the walk/hike down to the hotel from the station."

The size, the materials of highest quality and finest design. Eat excellent in the Bistro, since full booked in the restaurant! Unfortunately only one night a.Gr. of much work also in Lugano (visit a super performance in the art and culture center). The fitness/sauna was unfortunately closed, but private spa was bookable before departure Sunday morning ... good alternative. The gardens around the sky! The team was super professional, extremely friendly and helpful. Good and dream of my next visit to Villa Leopold ...Heartly recommended for enjoying the fine and good ... Denise Worlds in Zurich

GGuest UserThe apartment-style kitchen does not come with any usable kitchen utensils. You need to borrow it from the hotel for an additional fee and you cannot swipe your card. You have to pay cash in Swiss francs. If you take transportation, you need to walk up a small slope every time you enter and exit. The breakfast is good and delicious, and the service staff is very nice. Great

黄黄The location of the hotel is a 10-minute walk from the center of Lugano. It is convenient for shopping, but it is too close to the train track and there is noise when passing trains. The room is in the outdoor podium on the first floor of the main building. Open the door to the front yard of the hotel. It feels like the bungalow we used to live in. Maybe the rooms in the building are expensive. Continental breakfast is ok.

The hotel is located up the slope facing the train station. There's a view of the train station from our room but it's not nosiy once the wooden doors of the balcony are closed.

KKangNot far from the Lugano train station, there is a bus directly to the city of Lugano at the doorstep, which is quite convenient. The interior of the room is older, but it is clean and air conditioned, making it quite comfortable. Breakfast costs only 10 Swiss francs, but there are fewer choices.

Why there’s 4 stars - location is a far walk from the downtown, and there were little ants in the room. It was great for us but if you can’t handle that this wouldn’t be for you.
