The soundproofing is excellent, so your rest won't be disturbed. Overall, the value for money is truly impressive."

"Booked 2 rooms on a higher floor to enjoy the city views. Unfortunately there was a noticeable toilet smell in both rooms. Reporting this to the hotel staff we were allocated alternative rooms. They still had a smell but it was less pungent than the others. Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago, its showing signs of tiredness in fixtures, fittings and facilities. We were told the hotel will be refurbished in the year ahead. Breakfast buffet is good with a wide selection of western and Asian cuisines. It gets busy, especially at the weekend. There is a decent sized pool though the changing rooms are in need of refurbishment to bring it up to the standard of other 5 star properties in the city. Room rates are currently low to reflect the hotels current situation, as told by a manager when the room smell was reported. Still a great stay thanks to its location and breakfast offering and the room rates. Look forward to its refurbishment in the future."

"This was a last-minute trip, so I booked the hotel in a hurry. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride from the train station, costing around 15 yuan. **Environment:** Absolutely fantastic! Getting a sea-view room for this price was amazing. It's conveniently located, not far from the main attractions, and getting a taxi or Didi is easy and inexpensive. **Service:** The service was exceptional. The owner herself came down to greet me and helped me store and carry my luggage. The service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful – I'm extremely satisfied. **Hygiene:** The room was spotless, every nook and cranny was clean, almost as if it had never been used."

"After Chinese New Year, I went back to my hometown, Dalian. I wanted to explore the city, but since I live in the development zone, I took my sister's advice and booked one night at the Mercure on Friendship Square. (I've stayed at Mercure hotels in other cities for business trips before.) I never expected the Mercure in my hometown to offer such an extraordinary experience, far surpassing those in other cities. **Location** – It's right in the city center. You can step out and immediately experience Dalian's history, with various architectural styles left behind by the Japanese and Russians. It's also very close to Tianjin Street and the Japanese and Russian Style Street. **Ambiance** – Fresh and artistic. **Breakfast** – Compared to Mercure hotels in other cities, I absolutely loved the breakfast at my hometown's Mercure. **Service** – The hotel's service was warm and attentive. I honestly recommend staying at the Mercure on Friendship Square; no disappointment, only pleasant surprises!"

"The location is excellent, just an eight-minute walk from Dalian Station. Downstairs is Qingniwaqiao Subway Station, directly opposite Pavilion shopping mall, and next to Dashang. From the bus stop in front of Pavilion, you can take a direct bus to Forest Zoo and Yinshatan Beach, and even reach a good photo spot for the cross-sea bridge. Taking the subway to Xinghai Square, Xinghai Park, and Sea-rhyme Park is also very convenient. It's definitely my top choice for accommodation."

"The hotel's location is excellent, with many great restaurants and malls right outside – it feels like it's right in the city center. The hotel seems to have been around for a while, and from the doorman to the lobby manager and front desk staff, everyone offered professional and warm service. "I came to Dalian for a trip during the Chinese New Year, specifically choosing the off-season in winter to avoid the holiday crowds. I stayed at Hotel Nikko for 5 consecutive days. There was no room service, but the value for money was pretty good. I'm not used to having strangers come in to clean my room when I stay at hotels. Some hotels I've stayed at before like to do turn-down service and send complimentary milk at night, and sometimes the service can be a bit too enthusiastic for me. This hotel basically had no service; every morning I just put my trash outside the room, no extra social interaction needed."

"I couldn't find the lobby at first, so I followed an arrow sign and went up to the fifth floor. There was a cleaning lady there, and I politely asked her, 'Excuse me, could you tell me where the lobby is?' She completely ignored me. I asked again, 'Excuse me, where is the lobby?' She then impatiently snapped, 'Who told you the lobby is up here? Haven't you ever been to a hotel before? Who told you the lobby is upstairs?' I replied, 'I couldn't find it, so where is it?' She haughtily said, 'It's on the first floor, obviously.' The whole interaction she was just very impatient and arrogant. I was here to take an exam nearby and had hoped to review at the hotel, but she completely ruined my good mood. Then, the soundproofing was terrible and it was so noisy. The next morning, after my exam, I wanted to take a nap, but I could hear everything clearly from the room next door – I couldn't get any sleep at all."

What truly touched us were Lisa's thoughtful details, every single one of them hit the mark! When we checked out, she even gave us a little gift that the kids absolutely loved. She told us where the nearby supermarkets and convenience stores were and even drew a simple map for us. Knowing we were visiting Dalian, she enthusiastically recommended reliable seafood restaurants and family-friendly attractions, even advising us on the best times to go to avoid crowds and the sun – it was incredibly helpful. Getting around Dalian, whether for shopping, seafood, or the beach, was very convenient. Traveling with kids was a breeze. Overall, our stay was truly impeccable, and Lisa's service made our entire trip incredibly enjoyable! She was gentle, patient, thoughtful, and meticulous, always greeting us with a smile and always looking out for guests. She was as warm and caring as family, making us feel so welcomed in unfamiliar Dalian. We will definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Dalian!"
