"I stayed at this apartment for five nights in Dalian and was unexpectedly satisfied. It's incredibly convenient for airport transfers, with direct access via Metro Line 2. Located in Donggang, the sea views are stunning and within walking distance. Public transport, including buses and the metro, makes it easy to reach various attractions and commercial areas. With your room card, the fourth-floor elevator provides direct access to Kaidan Plaza, which offers a fantastic and affordable selection of dining options. There's also a Better You supermarket on the mall's basement level. Seafood stalls offer free cooking services for purchases over 80 yuan, and you get a 2% discount when paying with your Fraser Place room card. The room was clean and well-maintained, with excellent amenities, even laundry detergent, which was a very thoughtful touch. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and responded quickly. Overall, it was a perfect stay. I highly recommend Fraser Place if you're visiting Dalian."

"This hotel sets the benchmark for luxury in Northeast China. The sky lobby offers expansive views (giving off a Guangzhou Rosewood vibe), and overlooking the city instantly creates an amazing atmosphere. The rooms are new and well-equipped, the bedding is soft and comfortable, the dental kit is exceptionally good, and premium toiletries are among the many thoughtful touches. The staff provides attentive and well-measured service, proactively checking in without being intrusive. The restaurant on the 40th floor (for breakfast and other buffet meals) still has room for improvement; it could learn from excellent counterparts in the industry, such as the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing. After booking, staff will contact you in advance and provide convenient services during your stay (similar to the Hong Kong Jockey Club)."

"While the facilities are decent, the soft services are severely lacking, and the room service response time is frustratingly slow. My recent stay at the Cosco Intercontinental Hotel was incredibly disappointing and definitely didn't live up to the pricing or reputation of an international five-star brand. The most unbearable part was when my child had a fever, and I called guest services to ask for a thermometer. They told me they didn't have one and instructed me to call the front desk. The front desk then replied, 'Guest services will send one up to you shortly.' So, do they have one or not? Of course, I returned it to the front desk the next day and immediately went to a pharmacy to buy my own. When a guest requests assistance, especially with a child suddenly falling ill, shouldn't there be a clear response protocol? Zero points for that. On a positive note, Mr. Eric Sun Yong, who works at the entrance, was very enthusiastic and helped guests with their luggage. Also, the lounge staff brought rice for my child two days in a row, which showed an effort to make guests' stay enjoyable."

"I've stayed at all the five-star hotels in Dalian – the Shangri-La, Grand Hyatt, Castle, Conrad, Hilton, and New World, from Donggang to Renmin Road and Xinghai. Years ago, I had a few meals and afternoon tea at the Kempinski, and my impression was quite good. This time, I was back in China for a business trip near the hotel. Even though the hotel had changed its name, I booked three nights and four days, drawn by fond memories and the convenience, as I had never actually stayed there before. The result was a huge disappointment! This is definitely a hotel I would never choose again. Let's start from arrival. Coming from the airport by taxi, I had one large suitcase and three carry-on bags. There were no staff at the entrance. Just as I was struggling, a male staff member saw the taxi and came out to help with my luggage. During check-in, the front desk staff said they had upgraded my room and very enthusiastically offered to take me to the room. In the process, they asked for my WeChat, saying it would be convenient for service. After I gave it to them, they just turned around and left, not escorting me to my room. This felt very insincere! They completely disregarded how tiring it is for a customer who has just traveled. So I dragged all my luggage by myself to the room, which turned out to be a corner room next to a dilapidated fire exit. Upon entering, my first impression was that the hotel's blackout curtains were fully closed, and the colors were very dark, making the whole room feel incredibly oppressive. I then requested a room change. Later, a young female staff member came to the room to bring a new key card, helped me view the new room, and assisted with moving my luggage. Her service was excellent! I'd like to thank that young lady. Now, about breakfast. I only went once out of three days and didn't bother going again. The food was unappetizing, and the hygiene was poor. Uncleaned dishes were left in plain sight after guests finished eating. Waiters constantly made screeching noises dragging chairs. Two waiters were chatting, and even after I signaled them, they didn't respond. And the attitude of the chefs making noodles at the Chinese food station – they were joking and laughing, and customers had to ask multiple times before getting a reply. The entire restaurant staff lacked a sense of service. I considered changing hotels in the middle of my stay, but I was too lazy to bother. I finally endured until checkout day. The front desk then asked for a good review, without asking about my real feelings at all. The entire check-in and stay experience was awful. I honestly can't give a positive review against my conscience."

"The room was decent. Though a bit old, it was clean and tidy. It seems to have been recently renovated, as there was still a slight smell of renovation. The location is quite good. I was traveling with an elderly person and a child, so I didn't really need the subway; indeed, the hotel isn't particularly close to the subway. Considering my companions, we mostly took taxis, and it was quite convenient to wait for them in the lobby downstairs. It's very close to Donggang, which naturally means it's a bit far from Xinghai. Regarding the service, I honestly didn't find it as good as at other Shangri-La hotels I've stayed at. It's not that the service was particularly bad, but during my four-day, three-night stay, apart from the very warm and greeting cleaning staff, I felt no sense of 'home away from home' from the front desk to the supervisors to the restaurant staff. It's not that I expect greetings, but even my child noticed it. She'd ask me, 'Why isn't that auntie smiling?' or 'Why is that uncle so serious?' They even ignored my child's greetings. In terms of value for money, I found it pretty good, especially since I booked a children's themed room for one night and used vouchers for a standard room for the other two nights. They saved me the hassle of changing rooms by upgrading me to the children's room for all three nights. The staff who restocked the room items was very enthusiastic and patiently answered all my questions, which was excellent! 👍🏻 Breakfast could involve queuing, probably because the restaurant isn't very large, but it was generally orderly. On one day, no one helped me to a table, and without being seated, I couldn't tell which tables were available. Fortunately, after I brought it to their attention, it was quickly resolved. There's a Lawson convenience store downstairs, and I actually think having breakfast there wouldn't be a bad option... As for the kids' club, it's located at the back, and they didn't proactively inform me that it was included with my room type unless I specifically asked. Receiving快递 (express deliveries) was very convenient; the concierge department checked them meticulously. I'm not trying to trash the hotel, just being honest. Finally, they gave L'Occitane souvenirs, which, if you know, you know. The public areas were quite nice; I forgot to take photos because I was always with the kid. The 13th floor had a good street view too. Overall, it was neither particularly good nor bad."

"The environment is absolutely beautiful! My kids loved the castle, both inside and out. The exterior is stunning, and the interior is not only beautiful but also a lot of fun, especially the soft play area and the craft activities. The service was excellent, particularly Amanda who assisted me. The hotel's butler contacted me the day before check-in and thoughtfully helped me with all my concerns regarding check-in, the room, and luggage storage. It was truly considerate. The service was great; she tracked my flight the whole time and responded instantly to any questions I had, helping me resolve them. This experience was genuinely fantastic and very thoughtful. Next time, I'd definitely stay here again for the service alone, and I'll be sure to find Amanda."

"The hotel's location is excellent. To the right, you'll find Sun Asia Ocean World, and about a kilometer further is Heishijiao, perfect for beachcombing. To the left are Xinghai Bay and Xinghai Square, both with very clear water. We stayed in a sea-view room, and opening the window the next morning revealed a breathtaking ocean view. You can take an early morning stroll or run along the beach. The elevator system is unique; you have to select your floor outside before entering, which kids found entertaining, but adults might lose patience with. One minor flaw is that the shower only has an overhead fixture and no handheld sprayer, which wasn't ideal for children."

"The guest rooms at Xita Hotel have a rather heavy design style, and the renovation quality is quite poor. However, the overall service is excellent. After checking in, my child suddenly wanted some fruit. I casually asked a staff member, and even though the hotel doesn't usually provide complimentary fruit, two lovely staff members brought three fruits (a banana, an orange, and an apple) for my child. While not particularly fancy, it truly warmed my heart. I believe these fruits were probably their personal snacks. They even brought a rocking horse for my child to play with. One of the staff members was named Liu Lili – I apologize for forgetting the other lady's name. I'm incredibly grateful for their kindness and enthusiasm! Given the room rate is around a thousand yuan, I'd suggest the hotel should definitely offer complimentary fruit and small snacks. The cost is negligible, but it would make guests feel even more appreciated, otherwise, you might lose business to other hotels! Also, the hotel breakfast was very ordinary, which was disappointing."

"The hotel boasts great views and the staff are very friendly. We even received complimentary welcome fruit. However, I was surprised to find that the mini-bar items were chargeable. The hotel lobby is on the second floor, and since we transferred from another hotel, it was quite inconvenient to get there with all our luggage. I asked a staff member for directions, and they pointed to a driveway. Only later did I discover there's a side entrance with an escalator that leads directly to the second-floor lobby. All in all, for the stunning views alone, I'd still highly recommend it."

"Flew to Dalian on ***** New Year's Eve. The business class flight tickets were cheap, and a sea-view suite at Hotel Nikko was affordable during the off-season. The front desk was standard, and the room was excellent. After some effort, I managed to book a New Year's Eve dinner. Fearing I might hold up the table for the next seating, I went early and ate quickly. I'm very grateful to the waitress who helped me pack up my leftovers; she kept reassuring me not to rush and to eat at my leisure. In fact, a family of three came and left behind me, perhaps finding it not worth the price. My solo meal cost 500 yuan, and I thought it was good. Vita Tao even came over and hugged me, giving me a horse figurine, which is auspicious. After that, I couldn't eat at Hotel Nikko anymore. So many unmentionable things happened during the process, haha. But the bread at Hotel Nikko was delicious. I borrowed a charging cable from the hotel. The hotel scissors were dirty, so I bought alcohol wipes to clean them myself. The housekeeping staff was great and proactively gave me extra bottled water. When checking out, after coordination with Trip.com, I was granted a late checkout until 4 PM. The hotel didn't rush me. However, someone at the front desk asked for a good review and came to look when I pulled out my phone to call a car, which was unpleasant. Good reviews should come naturally from guests who've had a good experience; asking for them is completely unnecessary."
