"We’ve been traveling through China for nearly a month, so pulling up to the Pan Pacific Suzhou felt like a sudden shift—it is a massive, distinctly Western-style property. The environment is truly lovely. The gardens, especially the Pan Men scenic area right next door, are a total highlight and provide such a peaceful setting. Inside, the hotel is grand and spacious, with a fantastic breakfast buffet that strikes a great balance between traditional Chinese and Western options. However, the sheer scale of the place makes it feel a bit impersonal. It’s so spread out that I actually found it confusing to navigate the hallways. Also, be aware that you are pretty isolated here; you’ll need a taxi to get to almost anywhere of interest in the city. I was also disappointed by the room amenities. For a hotel of this caliber, it was strange to find no coffee machine and an empty mini-bar—it felt like a missing touch. Overall, I’m giving it 5 stars because there wasn’t anything actually wrong with our stay; everything was clean and well-maintained, but it definitely lacked that cozy, personal atmosphere I usually prefer."

"The only downside to the room was the lack of windows, which made it a bit stuffy. However, the overall ambiance was lovely, and my child really enjoyed the atmosphere. Breakfast was good too, though seating was limited. It was quite crowded even on a weekday, so I imagine it'd be a long queue for breakfast on weekends. The videos I took look great, but the screenshots don't quite do it justice."

Hotel near Shi Road/Shantang business district,Suzhou
The hotel is located in the beautiful Wujing, Xiatangwai, Changmennei, Gusu District, Suzhou City. It has a century-old courtyard with its own private garden and a standalone century-old building. It is just a short walk to the world-famous Shantang Street Ancient Town, Shiliu Pedestrian Street, the Lingering Garden, and the Xiyuan Temple of Hanshan Temple. It takes about 10 minutes by car to reach the Guanqian Street, the Humble Administrator's Garden, the Lion Grove Garden, and the Tiger Hill Scenic Area, among other Suzhou's characteristic attractions. The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to transportation. The hotel is committed to providing guests with "super healthy, super comfortable, super value, and super expectation" services, and has boldly innovated. It offers various types of rooms with exquisite design and classic details, featuring a new Chinese-style minimalist style. The lobby is elaborately decorated with guardian portraits of the twelve zodiac signs, a simple and elegant lounge area, and comfortable and humanized guest rooms. The hotel also has a restaurant, meeting rooms, a gym, a self-service laundry, and a parking lot. The environment is elegant, the facilities are complete, and the service is convenient and fast. With a brand-new business and service concept, the hotel brings you a new Licheng Boutique Hotel brand that combines taste and fashion, classic and creativity, and leads you to experience the new fun of business travel.

"The hotel environment is fantastic. It's a century-old architectural complex with ancient trees towering in the courtyard, making it very pleasant. The room window offers a picturesque view of a tree, exuding a charming Jiangnan (Southern China) aesthetic. While the room decor isn't brand new, it's clean and comfortable, and opening the window allows for good ventilation, so there are no strange odors. The bed and pillows are also quite comfortable. The service was excellent; the hotel provided a complimentary breakfast and a small gift. They even extended my check-out time due to an unexpected issue when I was leaving. The only downside is that the rooms aren't very soundproof. I'm not sure if it was guests from another room chatting, but I could constantly hear them talking, which was a bit noisy. Occasionally, I would also hear water flowing through the pipes at night. However, overall, my stay was very enjoyable, and it would still be my top choice if I visit Suzhou again."

HHalf Gwailo ABCOverall an enjoyable and relaxing one night stay at this tiny cosy hotel in Zhouzhuang, for our final leg of our 6 days Suzhou trip. We took a didi over to Zhouzhuang, which was faster and cheaper than I expected, just a little over half an hour. The hotel staff called me the day before to arrange for pick-up near the watertown ticket office. Actually I can't speak Mandarin and their English wasn't too good but we ended up chatting on Wechat as Wechat has a built-in translate function in their chat. So, 15 minutes before we arrive, we just had to let them know on Wechat. And the staff is already waiting for us, helped us with the luggage and guided us through the ticket buying process. You do have to pay for the ¥100 RMB ticket to get into the watertown and the ticket is good for 3 days. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the entrance. I picked this hotel because it was right inside the watertown and it had the ancient Chinese interior, although all the amenities are modern, including a robust and high-tech Kohler smart toilets in each bathroom. There is a nice coffee shop inside the hotel and the coffee shop owner is friendly and takes his coffee craft seriously. The hotel gives you 2 free drinks during your stay and the coffee menu is quite extensive. If the hotel rooms are not booked on that day, we are told the hotel opens their doors to coffee customers. The hotel owner is actually younger than I expected so I am impressed she meticulously created this authentic experience and the attention to detail. She was friendly and helpful and was open to accommodating our needs. We booked the entire 2nd floor, which was 3 bedrooms and we had 6 adults in our group. This tiny hotel only has 3 bedrooms so if you booked all 3 rooms, you pretty much get the entire hotel to yourselves which include the first floor which is spacious and comfy. When I visit Zhouzhuang again, I am looking forward to stay here again. It's certainly not cheap, but you do get what you pay for - which is people passionate about hospitality (in a Chinese way) and also a hygiene and staying experience that is certainly up to international standards.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the old location of Suzhou so the surrounding areas are all full of cultural experiences. The location is ideal for visiting several gardens such as The Couple's Retreat Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Humble Administrator's Garden (all within walking distance). However, it is a bit difficult to reach by car, as you would have to cross a small bridge and go over slightly rough roads (not ideal for multiple luggage, especially large ones). The hotel breakfast is soup noodles, with 8 different options, and it comes with a dessert (mung bean cake, a local specialty). It does get a bit tiring and repetitive once you eat it for a long time though. But, there are plenty of other alternative options up and down the street the hotel is located in. Various food stalls, restaurants, and even bakeries are all located within walking distance. The hotel also provides a ticketed experience to a local activity known as 评弹, a type of operatic singing famous for its soothing sound and tendency to invoke sleepiness. The hotel rooms are neat and kept clean with no odor. Throughout the hotel, a pleasing scent was smelled and it seems that one could buy the same scent from one of the various stalls open on the street. The bathroom amenities include: hair dryer, bath robes, toothbrushes, a vanity set, razor, and a comb (along with another item that slipped my mind). The toilet is automated and has a heated seat. Unfortunately, the showers are a bit difficult to use (low water pressure and difficulty in setting temperature). There are three settings for the shower: overhead, handheld, and spout. The rooms that we ordered (two single beds) included a sitting room furnished with a rocking chair and a mini fridge (drinks inside have to be paid for). The water bottles placed outside the fridge and the snacks on the table are complimentary and free of charge. The hotel also has a laundry machine that both washes and dries the clothes. Sadly, it doesn't properly dry clothes if more than 1.5 sets of clothing are placed inside. Drying racks and clothing hangers are provided for such scenarios. Laundry baskets were also provided. The hotel does not have elevators, given the antiquity of the neighborhood, so heavy luggage and suitcases have to be carried by hand up the stairs. The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful with anything we needed. We had a total of 8 suitcases (5 checked and 3 carry-ons) and the staff (overnight as we checked in at around 12 AM) voluntarily led us to the room and helped carry our bags up. When we ran into a problem with the laundry machine, the staff helped clear up the misunderstanding. Attached are photos of the lobby (picture of the table with the tea sets), the hotel room that was booked (the other room looked the same, just mirrored placement), the sitting room, and complimentary food that was provided.

GGuest UserAt the Kimpton Bamboo Grove Suzhou, I experienced what 'service before check-in' truly means. Our butler, Vickey, proactively reached out via WeChat even before our arrival, meticulously inquiring about our arrival time and preferences. This kind of thoughtful, pre-emptive care instantly put us at ease. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find our room on the top floor (the third floor), cleverly avoiding any potential noise from the park and offering both excellent privacy and views. The hotel's facilities seamlessly blend the charm of Jiangnan gardens with modern luxury. In the room, the mini-bar was complimentary for the first round and meticulously restocked daily by the butler, offering a full range of soft drinks and local specialty snacks. The daily complimentary fresh seasonal fruits, whether it was bayberries or Cuiguan pears, truly embodied the spirit of Suzhou. What impressed me most was the 'sense of proportion' in the service – the butler was never intrusive, yet the morning weather reminders and evening inquiries about adjusting the air conditioning temperature were always perfectly timed. The hot spring pool and dry sauna in the changing rooms by the swimming pool further enhanced the relaxed vacation vibe. There was no forced flattery here, only a subtle, comforting attentiveness that caters to travelers' needs – a true haven for those who understand what makes a great trip.

JjenniferfangThis trip was a family outing. I brought my in-laws to Suzhou to celebrate their birthday a bit early, so I specifically looked for a historic building with a Suzhou garden style. I booked three rooms and contacted the hotel to arrange two ground-floor rooms with courtyards. The hotel even thoughtfully prepared a birthday cake for my mother and offered turn-down service with a light soup in the evening. The restaurant was also good. We initially considered dining there on the first night but weren't sure about the dishes. After breakfast the next day, we decisively had lunch at the restaurant, and both elders thoroughly enjoyed it! The hotel's arrangements for coming and going were also very well-managed. This trip's food and accommodation were both excellent. A truly great hotel!

GGuest UserNow, I can sit here and tell you that we’re staying in an eco-friendly hotel that even though you’re inside its high glass windows gives you an outdoor vibe. I can even sit and talk about the saline pool, its state-of-the-art gym and list all the amenities; and I can even talk about the number of rooms and the fact that as we speak there’s an international summit going on here. Somehow that won’t speak about my experience here at this hotel. Elements (by Westin) Suzhou Science & Technology Town does have all of the above BUT what I love about this hotel is its Staff. I love the fact that they seem to be always be here. I somehow believe that they live onsite because they’re always around. In the morning, even before I enter the Salon I hear, “Nǐ hǎo Marsha” from the Breakfast Host, followed up by the nice lady in the Salon, smiling at me and ushering me to the coffee machine, while handing me my 2 brown sugar packs. She knows my morning habits so quickly. Not only that, because they knew Peter was missing from my breakfast table for a few mornings, they now signal to me with take away containers for Peter, to have his breakfast in the room. When we need to go anywhere the young ladies at the Front Desk (no matter which Shift) are always either asking us where we need to go so that they can call a CASH taxi to get us to our destination. One of them even came with me one day to the Bank of China’s ATM and sat in the taxi while I went in and conducted my business and accompanied me to the Campus to visit Jon-Marc. Yesterday, one of them even used her own Didi account to get us transportation back to the hotel and we reimbursed her (and walked away while she was trying to give us back our change because we knew she wouldn’t have taken the Tip as is their custom). How else could we have shown her how grateful we were for her kind gesture? Then there is Simon Jiang, the General Manager, who speaks perfect English and is always there to assist and offer suggestions of things to do and places to go. Simon was the one who actually explained to me that you can’t just walk into a pharmacy and get anything without a prescription. What I can tell you is that even though he is the GM he is always on hand assisting the staff with their work. Even though there is a clear hierarchy here, he takes off his jacket and assists in the kitchen, you can sometimes see him helping the older ladies bring out the heavy equipment (if needed) when they’re cleaning the floors, clear tables, etc. Or Alex Ju, the Assistant General Manager, who accompanied Peter and I to the hospital and stayed and spoke with the doctor and the international insurance department on our behalf (in Mandarin) to make everything a little easier for us. These people are the ones who have made my stay here memorable and I can honestly say that its because of them that I would recommend Elements by Westin in Suzhou to ANYONE who wanted a place to stay without hassle and with a host of helpful, courteous, friendly staff. It has been my pleasure having encountered such warm, friendly, delightful and gentle human beings.

GGuest UserExcellent service, we received a free room upgrade. The hotel was spotless, and attention to detail was impeccable. The atmosphere was elegant, and breakfast was abundant. From its location, design, and cleanliness to the quality of service, this hotel is truly faultless. It offers incredible value for money, and my stay far exceeded expectations. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Suzhou! It's right next to Nanhe North Road Station on Metro Line 5, making it incredibly convenient to get around. A short walk takes you to the vibrant Shiquan Street and the exquisite Master of the Nets Garden, and a taxi ride to Pingjiang Road or Guanqian Street costs just the minimum fare. The hotel is located above the Hanyu Square mall, which has everything you could need for dining, entertainment, and shopping, truly offering 'urban convenience with tranquil living'.

KKok Hong GanI had a wonderful stay at this homestay at 平江路. The location is very strategic, with easy access to many attractions, shops, and food spots, making it very convenient to explore the area. The place itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made the whole stay smooth and enjoyable. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. I accidentally left my phone in a taxi, and the host went above and beyond to help me. They quickly coordinated with the driver and handled everything until my phone was safely returned. I really appreciate the extra effort and care, it made a stressful situation so much easier. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful host!

AAnonymous UserThis stay was absolutely fantastic! I have to give it a huge shout-out! I especially want to thank Abbott and Linda at the front desk! Not only was the check-in process super fast, done in just a few minutes, but they were also incredibly thoughtful and upgraded us for free to a high floor. From there, we had an amazing view of the Gate of the Orient right outside our window – truly breathtaking and boosted our happiness instantly! The room itself didn't disappoint either. It was spotless and tidy everywhere, with great attention to detail, making our stay very comfortable. Plus, the breakfast spread was varied and delicious; we enjoyed a satisfying meal every morning~ This excellent experience has already been recommended to all my friends, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time! 🥳💯
