"I booked a large suite, and the rooms were spacious. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, which was very convenient. With the room card, we could enter Panmen Scenic Area for free. The Ruimian Noodle Restaurant at the entrance had a great ambiance and excellent food, and we received a 25 RMB discount with the hotel room card – very thoughtful. The butler proactively contacted us before check-in, helped us check in early, and then took care of every little detail perfectly. It was a very satisfying experience! 👍"

"I was absolutely mesmerized by Suzhou's nightscape. After dusk, the hotel sheds its daytime tranquility, blending classical charm with modern elegance, truly hitting all the right aesthetic notes. Water, the soul of Suzhou gardens, is also the highlight of this hotel's nighttime view. As night falls, the courtyard's water surface transforms into a deep, black mirror, reflecting the white walls, dark tiles, pavilions, and warm lights. This creates a symmetrical, tranquil, and poetic scene. The illuminated logo in the water feature at the entrance and the courtyard's landscape lake allow the architectural columns and landscape lighting to intertwine into stunning reflections on the water. This interplay of illusion and reality, shimmering with light, imbues the entire space with a dynamic and rich sense of depth. Traditional upturned eaves, elegant wooden structures, and sleek modern glass curtain walls with minimalist lines seamlessly integrate here, creating a unique 'New Suzhou' aesthetic, beautifully interpreted through the water's reflections. The public areas extensively use high-gloss materials, weaving lights, greenery, and architecture into layers of reflections, creating a serene, yet futuristic and elegant atmosphere. The room amenities are comprehensive, balancing design aesthetics with comfort. The complimentary mini-bar drinks are a thoughtful touch. A special thanks to our butler, Anbo, for arranging a garden-facing balcony – it was truly the highlight of our entire stay. By day, the red maples against the white walls framed a picturesque view, and by night, the gentle lights and a refreshing breeze on the balcony melted away all the fatigue from our journey. Here, you can fully immerse yourself in the graceful elegance of Jiangnan gardens while enjoying the comfortable luxury of a modern hotel. This is my top choice for accommodation when visiting Suzhou, and I look forward to returning!"

"I brought my family for a 2-day, 1-night trip to Suzhou and saw this highly-rated hotel online beforehand. It had a kids' play area, craft activities, and a swimming pool. The room was a 2-bedroom, 1-living room suite, which was perfect for our family, so I decided to book it. The lobby was a bit small, and the hotel sign wasn't very grand, but there were clear directional signs. The front desk added me on WeChat and provided a comprehensive introduction to the hotel beforehand, which was quite thoughtful. Upon entering the lobby, there was complimentary tea, but I personally didn't like the taste; it was a bit bitter. The front desk staff had good service, though they could smile a bit more! 😀 The apartment-style room had all the facilities and was quite convenient, plus there were snacks and drinks. They were very responsive via WeChat for any questions, which was a huge plus. It's definitely worth staying here with kids, and I'd come back again if I have the chance. Wishing them a prosperous business! "

Hotel near Guanqian Street/Pingjiang Street,Suzhou
The Scholars Hotel Suzhou Pingjiangfu (Shuxiangshijia Huisuojiudian Suzhou Pingjiangfudian) is located in the heart of Suzhou old town and handy for visiting the many local attractions and classical Chinese gardens found there. An attractive hotel, it features traditional Chinese-style architecture, courtyards featuring pools of water and sculptured rock. Guestrooms boast contemporary furnishings with traditional touches and all the usual amenities required for a comfortable stay.

"Five stars are good, but I'd give it six! First, let's talk about the location: Suzhou's old town is absolutely packed on weekends, so a good hotel location is crucial for an enjoyable trip. Exit the hotel and turn right, and Pingjiang Road is just 50 meters away. Go another kilometer, and you'll find the Lotus Market at Baitai Park and the Flower and Bird Market on Pishi Street—all showcasing the best of old Suzhou. After parking at the hotel, the best way to explore is to rent an electric scooter. Feel the breeze through your hair under the trees. Within a 5-kilometer radius, you can reach almost 90% of old Suzhou's attractions. It's pure bliss! Room facilities: If there's one minor drawback, it's that the hardware is a bit older. But then again, with such a great location and this level of service, it wouldn't be this price if it hadn't been open for a while. So, in a way, it's just the other side of the coin. Of course, the hotel has made many efforts, such as installing Washlets later on, and the linens are well-maintained. What's particularly amazing are the hotel's teas—they're truly excellent. Breakfast: Absolutely a bonus! You must try the Cifan Tuan (sticky rice rolls), sweet with preserved mustard greens—the texture is simply first-rate. The young man making the rice rolls was also very kind, chatting as if with family. It seems they also have a seasonal dish recommendation among the stir-fries. On the day I visited, it was edamame with water bamboo, which was incredibly tender. Finally, the overall service: The staff at the front desk, both the young men and women, were excellent. It was hot, and I appreciate their thoughtful service."

The hotel boasts a high-end design, the rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and there's a good variety of pillows. The front desk staff were prompt in their service. Experience the renowned beauty of Suzhou in an unforgettable private island of Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou. Our 9-hectare (22-acre) private island retreat on Jinji Lake is only minutes from the bustling city center, with expansive gardens and dramatic lake views enveloping you in a serene and private sanctuary – a true urban escape.

"The overall service was excellent, everyone was friendly and smiling. For our anniversary, they decorated the room and sent us a small cake and cookies. The infinity pool was beautiful and great for photos, and they even offered us mini popsicles. The kids' club was large, making it a perfect place for families with children. We originally booked a 'Yiyuan' King Room, but the front desk said they upgraded us to a courtyard room. This room, however, was on the ground floor with a courtyard, which was useless since it rained all day Sunday. Moreover, it was located at the very end of the East Wing, making it extremely inconvenient to get around with a child. We had to walk so much extra. The room was on the first floor, while the front desk was on the second, and we had to take a connecting elevator. The actual 'Yiyuan' rooms are usually on the second floor or higher. So, this felt more like a downgrade disguised as an upgrade, and we were quite uncomfortable. The duvet cover and duvet were separate, the cover had no zipper or ties, and the edges were torn. I strongly advise against staying in the ground-floor rooms with courtyards. They are dark and gloomy, and on rainy days, a room with a balcony upstairs would be much airier. Since we were traveling with a baby and spent most of our time at the hotel, every time we had to go out, it took forever, and our child got tired. Therefore, I felt the room experience this time was very poor – it was remote, and the lighting was bad."

Located on the bank of the picturesque Jinji Lake,TONINO LAMBORGHINI HOTEL SUZHOU has been endowed with a special spiritual power. Hidden to outsiders and open to those who find the way in, the hotel has the power to take every guest to far and away places, freeing them of their troubles and difficulties. The hotel is purposely built inside a garden, representing what TONINO LAMBORGHINI HOTEL SUZHOU stands for. A garden of treasure which offers the fragile balance between man and nature; a Chinese Garden built only for sheer pleasure – nothing else. Surrounded by camphor trees, gnarled stones, moon gates and waterfalls, you can choose a pavilion or pagoda for a time to spend with a loved one, private time to reflect and gather thoughts, or simply to read a book. As Mr. Tonino Lamborghini says, “We cannot give you Italy but we can give you the feeling.” At TONINO LAMBORGHINI HOTEL SUZHOU, we bring you a mix of tradition and modernity life style.

"There are many hotels near Jinji Lake, and after much deliberation, I chose the Lamborghini. Overall, my review is average; it's the kind of place I wouldn't return to. Facilities: Most of the hotel facilities are quite old. The light switches weren't very responsive. The layout of the rooms in the hotel is quite confusing, with no clear signage. The breakfast restaurant was hard to find; I even had to direct two other guests who were lost. The hotel's own pool is quite mediocre, more of a 'better than nothing' situation, so I ended up going to the Crowne Plaza next door to swim. Hygiene: There were black marks on the pillow that hadn't been cleaned. Environment: The overall garden architectural style is quite unique compared to other hotels. However, there were a lot of mosquitoes; I got covered in bites just taking a few photos. Also, the hotel lobby design feels a bit cramped and doesn't exude a five-star standard. Service: Most of the staff were pleasant, but a few front desk personnel gave perfunctory responses. The path to the Crowne Plaza is a bit circuitous, and while the hotel offers a free shuttle bus, they didn't proactively mention it. I only found out about the shuttle after asking. I requested a room upgrade two days in advance, even though there were vacancies, but it wasn't granted. Overall, it's not really worth it, and I won't be coming back."

"I took my parents to Suzhou, and every year we visit Xishan Island for farm-to-table meals and scenic views. This time, I blindly booked this new guesthouse and was pleasantly surprised! Being newly opened, it was very clean and tidy. We booked four rooms in total. The hotel features smart design, comfortable rooms, and bathrooms with separate wet and dry areas (which is actually very important for a good guest experience, saving time and making things more convenient). The guesthouse has a huge common area, beautifully decorated and thoughtfully arranged, with mahjong, KTV, a cinema, billiards, a children's playground slide, game consoles, and even a laundry room. Both the elderly and children had a comfortable stay."

Inspired by the ocean, the indoor Kids’ Garden - Little Captain Club - brings extra delight and enjoyment to the time when family members come together for a vacation.

"The package price on Trip.com was really a great deal. We booked it in advance for our 24th anniversary and stayed for two nights. We happened to be there during a typhoon, so it rained constantly, but thankfully the hotel had everything we needed for food, drinks, and entertainment, so we weren't bored staying indoors. On the first day, we checked into the 'Captain's Suite' on the sixth floor. The facilities were a bit old, but the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking views. The bedding felt a little damp. On the second day, the rain was so heavy that water seeped into the room from the deck area. The hotel upgraded us to the 'Navigator Grand Suite' on the eighth floor. The facilities there were newer and well-equipped, making for a much more comfortable stay than the 'Captain's Suite', and the bedding was dry. The breakfast on the first floor was packed every morning, and the variety of dishes was quite good, appealing to most palates. We also checked out the afternoon tea at the lobby lounge. It was beautifully presented, but the cakes weren't very tasty. It was good for taking photos and passing the time, though. The executive lounge on the seventh floor only offered soft drinks and alcohol during the day. However, during dinner hours, there were hot dishes, snacks, and cakes, although the selection wasn't extensive. Overall, the hotel is a flagship Crown Plaza, so it's quite large and has a clear locational advantage. It's just a bit older now, which is to be expected given its age."

"I booked in late August and received a free upgrade to the 44th floor. The breakfast was quite lavish. Starting our Suzhou trip in the peak of summer, with the scorching sun outside, staying at the Shangri-La on Tayuan Road was truly the most comfortable solace of the journey. The hotel boasts an excellent location, making getting around incredibly smooth and convenient for visiting all the major attractions. The surrounding commercial area is well-equipped with plenty of dinner options. Stepping into the hotel, a cool and pleasant feeling immediately washes over you. The room was clean and airy, with simple yet elegant soft furnishings and soft, skin-friendly bedding. After a day of exploring, returning to the room allowed us to shed all the summer heat and fatigue. All the staff were warm and genuinely hospitable. Our guest manager, Lisa, was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive, providing detailed recommendations for activities, and promptly and properly arranging all our needs, big or small. The hotel facilities are comprehensive. In our free time, we enjoyed splashing around in the pool, escaping the summer heat. The entire trip was relaxed and enjoyable, creating truly wonderful memories. Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, was very satisfied. If we ever return to Suzhou, this will still be our first choice for accommodation. Highly recommended."

Hotel Indigo SUZHOU JINJI LAKE by IHG

9.7/10

I chose the Indigo Hotel for a relaxing weekend by Jinji Lake, and it was absolutely the right decision. Scott, from Guest Relations, proactively contacted me even before check-in and was available on WeChat throughout my stay, handling all my requests with just a message. The hotel is conveniently located right by the subway exit – just a turn after exiting Exit 2 of the Contemporary Art Museum station. The Suzhou-style cyberpunk design is incredibly cool, with arches, ornate windows, and neon lights, making every photo a masterpiece. I booked a lake-view king room, which included breakfast. The room was 49 square meters and fully equipped with a coffee machine, refrigerator, complimentary first round of beverages, a Dyson hairdryer, and an automatic smart toilet. There was only one trash can, which felt a bit sparse. The room also had two bathrobes, though I honestly wonder if anyone actually enjoys wearing hotel bathrobes. The Dyson hairdryer and fully automatic smart toilet were definite highlights. For breakfast, the restaurant was quite busy on the weekend. Staff guided guests to their tables and asked if they'd like coffee or black tea. The breakfast featured a special noodle station with delicious wontons and noodles. The pastry section offered a wide variety of breads, all very soft and fluffy. My appetite is a bit small, and I was full after just a bowl of wontons and one pastry. The specialty Suzhou-style pastries, in my opinion, were just okay; I think the pastry shops in the city center would offer better options.

Took my kids to Suzhou Tongli Lake Hotel for a weekend stay. Their logo is a hoopoe bird, and the experience exceeded our expectations! The room was new, spotless, and thoughtfully detailed, making our stay incredibly relaxing and comfortable. The family-friendly facilities were fantastic: outdoors, you can feed bunnies, and the kids' play area was clean and safe – my child didn't want to leave! The heated pool had crystal-clear water, perfect for both adults and kids to enjoy. The buffet offered fresh, diverse, and delicious food with plenty of choices. On Sunday morning, we did a travel photoshoot in the Suzhou-style garden right next to the hotel. With its white walls, dark-tiled roofs, winding corridors, and ornate windows, every step offered a picturesque scene. It's a wonderful family-friendly hotel with a serene environment and attentive service!

The location is fantastic, just a stone's throw from Pingjiang Road. After exploring Pingjiang Road, it's perfectly situated to visit the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum. The hotel has an antique charm, offering a quiet retreat in a bustling area. I was pleasantly surprised to find a direct dispenser for hot and cold drinking water in the room. Breakfast isn't a buffet; you choose your items the day before, but it's so delicious and generous that we only wished our stomachs were bigger! From the moment we checked in, every staff member was incredibly warm and welcoming. A special shout-out to Front Desk Agent Xiao Xu, who contacted us even before our arrival to give us directions and continued to check in on us until we checked out. She truly made this short trip perfect, and we're so grateful!

Traveling to Shantang Street with my good friends and our kids, I was getting a headache trying to find a hotel. Luckily, we ended up staying at this hotel right inside the scenic area. The garden-style landscaping is absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos. We could easily pop back to the hotel for a rest whenever we got tired. 😄 Our room had one king bed and one twin bed, and the best part is that they were movable, so we could push them together – fulfilling the kids' wish to sleep together! ❤️ The hotel's bathtub was huge; even though we only stayed one night, the kids took two baths and had a blast. The air conditioning was also incredibly powerful, which was an absolute lifesaver in this scorching summer heat!!! The hotel even provided afternoon tea, which, paired with the lotus flowers we bought in the scenic area, made for some fantastic photos – we took dozens, haha. It's especially great for a getaway with your girlfriends because the room has a two-sided mirror, so you can do your makeup together. 😄 The breakfast was delicious and served as a set meal with exquisite presentation. Kids' breakfasts are even complimentary! On top of that, you can feed the fish at the hotel, which the kids absolutely loved, hahaha. Next time we visit Suzhou, we will definitely stay at Zhu again. This summer trip was too hot and rushed; only staying one night was a bit of a shame. P.S. The staff were super nice. Before check-in, they thoughtfully informed us about various convenient transportation options and the hotel's Wi-Fi. All our small requests were met quickly and efficiently. The staff even helped us carry our luggage upstairs, and when we asked the front desk for bottled water, they generously gave us several bottles at once. Truly amazing!

As other online reviews mentioned, don't expect much from the service here. 1. Usually, hotels have a butler escort you to your room and explain things, or at least wait at the door. On our check-in day, we arrived at our room to find the door open. A staff member in plain clothes suddenly emerged from the room, startling us. But that's a minor detail. 2. The public hot spring (gongtang) operating hours are 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM. However, when we went at 9:30 PM, after showering, ready to soak, we were told the 'golden' spring (jintang) was already being cleaned and we couldn't use it. Why couldn't anyone warn us when we entered or while we were showering? They started cleaning a full hour before closing, and there were 3-4 other guests in the women's bath at the time; everyone just looked at each other in disbelief. 3. On Tuesday, before checking out, I wanted to have one last soak, so I woke up early. But when I entered the women's changing room, all the lights were off (the locker access card still worked, so the access control wasn't off, and there were no 'closed' signs at the entrance). I had to call the front desk myself to find out it was closed on Tuesdays. No one mentioned this to us during check-in or at any other time, and it wasn't in the check-in guide. So, we woke up early for nothing. The front desk said it was mentioned on Ctrip (it was, but in tiny font about seven or eight pages down). There were also no compensation measures. When we checked out, there were even other guests who had driven over specifically for the hot springs, only to be told it was closed that day. They also made a wasted trip, so the unclear signage is definitely not an isolated incident. Other than that, the value for money is quite good, and the private hot spring (sitang) fees are reasonable, though the private springs only offer the 'silver' spring (yintang).

This was my fourth stay here, and the service, as always, was excellent. Half the reason I come here is for the food; the dinner at the restaurant is absolutely delicious. The front desk even upgraded me to a suite. Usually, I book a ground-floor suite directly, but this time I booked a standard room and they upgraded me to a second-floor suite. The only thing to note is that the air conditioner's outdoor unit was incredibly loud, almost deafening. I couldn't sleep the first night. The second night, I was so tired I just managed to sleep, thinking it was only one more night, so I didn't bother changing rooms. Then, before leaving, we went to the indoor kids' play area for a bit. There was an auntie (presumably a staff member) lying on the trampoline scrolling on her phone. When she saw us, she just rolled over and went to sleep. My child wanted to play, but seeing her sleeping with her eyes closed, didn't feel comfortable going up. Other children came later and also saw her sleeping and didn't feel comfortable going up. She didn't get up until we left. I can understand that the auntie might need to rest when it's hot and there isn't much to do, but couldn't she find a corner? There's plenty of space. I hope the hotel strengthens its management. Despite these issues, I still give this stay a 5-star rating.

I was upgraded to a room on the 2nd floor with a beautiful view. What really blew me away was the hotel lobby – the design aesthetics are just incredible, absolutely stunning! The whole hotel is filled with lush greenery, giving you a real vacation vibe. The breakfast was Western style, not really to my taste, but the environment was definitely amazing. The food near the hotel, especially the chicken wontons, was surprisingly good – I'll definitely be having them again next time! The service was also great, and they even have a shuttle bus.
