Hotels with Breakfast in Ashigarashimo District

"The hotel was beautiful, and my dad and I were very happy with our stay. The room was extremely clean. We tried the hot springs on the hotel's top floor and also at the shopping mall across the street, and the ones at the mall were definitely better. We booked the 'one night, two meals' package, and overall it was excellent value for money. Regarding transportation, I didn't research it thoroughly beforehand, but it turns out you can take a bus directly from Odawara, Hakone-Yumoto, and Gora stations, and it's free if you use the Hakone Free Pass. When we arrived, a Chinese ticket agent told us the Odawara bus was very crowded and suggested we take the H line from Hakone-Yumoto. There's also a bus that goes directly to the hotel from the Hakone Open-Air Museum. The hotel's own shuttle bus has a fixed schedule (see image below), and the pickup spot at Gora Station can be a bit tricky to find."

"The hot spring was incredibly comfortable, and having a private onsen was a real treat. They even offer free ramen in the evenings, though the serving time is quite short, so make sure to check the schedule. Parking at the hotel was very convenient. I heard the room rates are usually quite high, but I booked it on Ctrip for just over 1400."

"The scenery and style are amazing, and the location is convenient. The mountain bus line H can reach the door. However, you have to climb a flight of stairs from the door to the front desk. You can't see any service staff at all. You can only climb up with your suitcase by yourself. It's very tiring. You have to carry it down by yourself after checking out. It's too hard. In addition, the service attitude and standards of the men who can speak Chinese among the service staff are significantly lower than those of other English or Japanese speaking staff! When I checked in, a girl who could speak English helped me with the check-in, and her attitude was very good! The most complaining thing is the food, which is very unpalatable. After a trip to Japan, it was the most unpalatable one. Whether it was dinner or breakfast, whether it was Japanese or Western, it was unpalatable. It was very unpalatable."

"Our stay was absolutely fantastic. The traditional Japanese room was spacious and super comfy. The onsen facilities were definitely the highlight, way better than I expected for the price we paid. They have 3 types: 1 indoor, 1 outdoor and 1 mixed. All these are bookable throughout the day, from 7am to 11pm and they are completely private. The ryokan is 15 minutes walking from Gora station, so if you arrive by train and you have luggage I recommend you check on google map how to get there with a bus, otherwise you’ll have to walk uphill for a while. The only negative point I can find is probably the breakfast, I tried both western and Japanese style, they are both quite pricy for what they are and I personally did not enjoy the Japanese one. Despite this I would totally come back if I ever visit Hakone again."

"It is a very Japanese-style hotel with tatami-style rooms. The rooms are very clean. The hot spring water is very smooth and easy to drain, so you can soak at any time. It includes dinner and breakfast, which are very rich, very Japanese, and very distinctive."

"Overall, my stay was very satisfying. The hotel's location is convenient, with smooth traffic access nearby, making it perfect for both sightseeing and business trips. The room was spacious and clean, with well-maintained facilities. The bed was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a restful sleep. The amenities were complete and of good quality, showing attention to detail. The staff were friendly and professional; I experienced excellent service quality from check-in to check-out. They were prompt and thoughtful in responding to my needs. Fantastic!"

"The staff was very friendly and the amenities included use of the onsen for one hour was great as it was included within the price. The room was clean peaceful and had a nice Japanese vibe. Unfortunately, the room is not en suite. I would say the location wasn’t great as you should note it isn’t actually in the main area of Hakone but rather by the lake where you take the boat ride. You also have to walk up a hill to get there."

"Right by the pirate ship dock, the views are great, though there are quite a few stairs to navigate. However, the hotel facilities are excellent, especially the lounge. It has plenty of seating, hot and cold drinks, board games, and nice views. The hotel lawn even has tripods set up, which is a thoughtful touch. The only downside is that there aren't any recommended restaurants in the immediate vicinity."

"Not bad. I can see they are trying to make this property more known to international guests from different countries. Two dire problems: the food was extremely salty. With the exception of the Teppan dinner, all of the meals we had here had so much sodium content. Also, their food in general is not of high quality and tastes pretty much the same across all dishes. Please make improvements. And another thing I would highly recommend is that the manager lady learn English so that next time I visit this property and have to communicate in English and ask for some help, she doesn’t get sassy or mad at me for requesting another staff member who can speak English. I really needed some help with golf reservations and understandably it is not her business that we had to go golfing the next day. However, I didn’t realize it was such a rude thing to ask for another employee who could understand what I was saying when she couldn’t understand my requests specifically because of her lack of English proficiency. For this property to become popular with international guests, it would be a wholesome idea for the chief manager to learn to speak better English anyways. I guess she knew that she was being rude by hitting the desk because she came up to me and gave me her business card (without my asking and finally in a nice manner) when I merely asked a younger staff member if the angry lady was the manager. She must have known that she was giving me attitudes. When you are in the hospitality business, please don’t forget that guests are there to enjoy their trip—savoring each moment—not to feel uncomfortable or be bothered by staff’s attitudes."

"This hotel is conveniently located. It is a traditional Japanese hotel with a lot of facilities. It is very beautiful, particularly the garden which is big and serene. The hot spring having both indoor and outdoor pools is impressive. The dining experience is fantastic because the setting is cosy and the food is extremely delicious. The mattresses, neither too soft, nor too hard, are very comfortable."
