"Probably my favourite place I have stayed while traveling. I stayed in a shared room, which was very quiet but designed not to look like prison but actually comfortable. The ”capsule” has good amout of space and privacy. My favourite part was the shared spaces such as the lounge/kitchen area and onsen. The kitchen is well equipped and has amenities you’d never think of having, like the machine for making shaved ice and coffee brewers. It is very comfortable and has great atmosphere and great views outside. The onsen was amazing as well, with two kinds of pools outdoor and indoor available. The onsen looks and feels amazing. It opens from early morning to midnight, which gives flexible time to go take a bath. Overall great place to stay, next to a bus stop and a little walk to the Hakone Tozan railway. Konbini few minutes away, bakery, italian restaurant and couple shrines next to it."

"Traditional style; we booked a room with private outdoor onsen. We tried both private onsen and communal onsen but honestly the water in communal ones was hotter, if you don’t mind sharing the onsen with others. The dinner set and breakfast set were excellent! The room and common facilities were clean and tidy, and I don’t feel they were worn. Although the staff (the receptionist) might not be good in English speaking, they tried their best and used mobile app translator to explain to us patiently the rules and arrangements for our stay. For us, the price is reasonable with such high quality of service and facilities!"

"Great location, only 3 minutes from the train station. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The hotel is the low budget part of the hotel opposite. However, you can use the onsen and the facilities of the other part of the hotel for free. The Onsen is a bit small, but nicely designed and wasn't too crowded. The service is really nice and helpful. The room was really small, but sufficient for one night. The air conditioning is unfortunately directly above the bed and the bathroom is really extremely small. There was some mold visible in the bathroom, otherwise it was very clean. The price was very low. I can only recommend the hotel."

"Very good service for an affordable price. I stayed two nights in female dormitory, the bed is spacious even the top one,I was provided with towels and a kimono-style robe, which was very comfortable. There are two private onsens in the inn, you can reserve any of them the day before. Also, there is a small kitchen with cooks, you can order a breakfast and a dinnir a la carte, which is very convenient. The only downside is that you have to bring the luggage uphill when checking in, but it is not a problem when checking out because there is a free transfer provided each morning to the Gora station."

"This hostel in the hot spring town is incredibly cost-effective. It took some getting used to on the first day, but we found it quite nice after a while. We stayed several nights and had many European and American guests, including some families and a South American couple. They probably preferred the hostel's atmosphere. You can buy food at the Lawson convenience store in town and store it in the fridge, then have breakfast in the communal kitchen. Since the shops on the street stay open quite late in the morning, it's very convenient, affordable, and quiet."

"The atmosphere was fantastic, and they even had a campfire BBQ at night. The hotel has a kitchen, so you can buy ingredients and cook for yourself, and there's a 7-Eleven and Lawson nearby, which is really convenient for grabbing things. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, and I plan to recommend it to my friends."

"This is one of the best experience I have ever had! A very friendly owner + impeccable service. They offer pick-up drop-off services at togendai and oishishita, and when I asked whether they can drop off the luggage at Gora they said yes!!! Saved me so so much time!! Great room, not the most luxurious but definitely comfy. Be aware there is no private showers though. But needless to say, when theres an onsen why would you need a private shower! The onsen is great in a sense that since it's a small hotel, there was rarely anybody. It's almost like a private onsen. The water temperature of the inner one is just right, but the outdoor one, when it's snowing is quite cold. Also, the outdoor onsen had some debris as well. So the quality of the onsen isnt top notch but for the price, it's already way above my expectations. (Also you can see mount fuji as you are enjoying the onsen!) Only downside is the location. When they offer very good pick-up and drop off services, the luggage system from the railway doesn't include this hotel. This forced me to start the trip at togendai (you could ask then to simply pick up your luggage). Not a big problem if I have known this beforehand, but I had to change plans and get on the pirate ship first, so be aware!! Overall. 10/10 experience. Good price, good room, excellent service. Would come again definitely!!"

"In addition to the location is not convenient, all aspects are perfect and the unit is looking at the sea. There is also a fisherman's canteen nearby. I have never seen such a clean b&b. The landlord's service is very priority. Every tenant is a friend."

"If you're particular about dust on windowsills and walls, or the hygiene of bedding (excluding the covers), you might want to reconsider booking. While the duvet cover was clean, it's just a single cover, so as you toss and turn in your sleep, your body inevitably touches the duvet itself. However, considering the insane accommodation prices in Hakone, this place is incredibly, truly cheap! The location requires taking a bus to get anywhere, but the bus stop is close by. Be warned, Japanese rural bus schedules are a real headache! Make sure to check the bus times carefully for both your inbound and outbound journeys. Plan your day by checking the timetable for each bus route, otherwise, you could easily waste an hour or two. The staff are incredibly friendly. I met different staff members upon arrival, during my stay, and at check-out, and they were all genuinely super friendly. In short: Would I book here again if I revisited Hakone? Yes!"
