"I recently stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Colombo, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The room was extremely spacious, honestly one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in within Colombo. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the amenities were excellent. The room included everything you might need—tea and coffee facilities, toiletries, toothbrushes, and more. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the TV, office table was huge as well. All the facilities such as the lights, air conditioning, and fan worked perfectly, so we had no issues at all. Our room was on the 8th floor (top floor) and we had a nice view overlooking the Galle Face Hotel with a small view of the ocean. The location of the hotel is also excellent since it is very close to Galle Face Green and many other attractions in Colombo, which makes it very convenient for travelers. The check-in process was smooth, and they welcomed us with a refreshing welcome drink. One thing to note is that the security procedure is quite strict. When we had guests visiting our room briefly, they had to provide their IDs and go through a security check. It was the first time I experienced this in a hotel, but it is understandable since it helps maintain safety. Although we booked bed and breakfast, we later asked if we could add the dinner buffet, but unfortunately it was already full. However, something very kind happened later that night. My mother wanted chicken congee, so we asked the room service staff if it was available. Even though it was not on the menu at that moment, they were kind enough to prepare and send us a bowl of chicken congee. It was a very thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated their kindness. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a very wide variety of food, and everything we tried was delicious. My family has always liked the buffets at Ramada, and this time was no different. They also had live cooking stations, and the staff there were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, everything about the stay was great. The room, service, location, and food were all excellent. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. It is absolutely worth the price and offers great value for money."

"This hotel, from its name to its decor, is very colonial. I booked it directly on Ctrip, and the price was great, but the cleanliness was worrying – the bathroom was full of cockroach nymphs 🪳. The TV was so ancient that I hadn't heard that loud, explosive shutdown sound in ages, it cracked me up 😂. The South Asian guy at the front desk was handsome and attentive; he even asked to take a photo with me. The original site was a Dutch governor's residence, later converted into a British barracks in 1837. On November 5, 1875, it was redeveloped into the Grand Oriental Hotel. No wonder there are old government offices nearby, and the hotel is adorned with banners celebrating its 150th anniversary."

"I had a really great stay at Amari Colombo. The hotel was clean, modern and very comfortable throughout. The rooms were well maintained and everything felt fresh and tidy. The location is excellent — easy to get around the city and close to everything you’d need. One of the highlights was the rooftop, which has fantastic views over Colombo. It’s a great spot to unwind and take in the skyline. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and I’d happily return."

"The hotel is located in an alley, with a restaurant right downstairs. There are also many restaurants around. The hotel rooms are well-equipped, spacious and well-ventilated. The air conditioning is powerful and there is an elevator. It is the most ideal hotel I have stayed in Colombo, with a high cost performance."

"We feel welcome upon check in. The room is very clean and very spacious. The reception staff help attend to all our queries promptly and assist us with our transport arrangement. Also help us with our luggages to and fro our room and to our car. Bed is comfortable, aircon is cold and hot shower is good. Room has WiFi and TV. Hot water for coffee and tea are located in the kitchen area . Free water from the water dispenser in the kitchen There is central ironing available outside the rooms for sharing. Washroom is very spacious, modern and well maintained with wet and dry area. Toilet roll, towels, Shower gel, hand soap and shampoo are provided. Breakfast is simple buffet with cereals with milk, toast with butter and jam, fruits, omelette with chicken sausage, coffee, tea and juice. The location is next to the main road at the outskirts of the city but is near many shops and a small train station. Overall very comfortable nice rest and breakfast with great staff. "Booked a triple room, but when I arrived, they told me it wasn't available and gave me a twin room with an extra bed instead. The service was also incredibly slow; they only came to set up the room after I got really frustrated from chasing them multiple times. However, Trip.com was very responsive and helped resolve the issue quite smoothly in the end. The hotel's location is decent, within walking distance to Gallery Cafe and Barefoot, and right across from the ocean train. As for facilities, it's pretty much what you'd expect from a standard old four or five-star hotel."
