"Each and every thing is perfect about this hotel must visit. If you get room with ocean view its best if not than go to top floor they have infinity pool unforgettable experience you will feel like you are leaning in the ocean. No more words to describe. The stay was absolutely fabulous! The room, the sea view and the view bath was top notch! First stay at granbell and what an experience it was! The sunset with the infinity pool was another world! Also, not to forget the warm welcome we received from the Front Desk Staff, they gave us the Perfect first impression of the Hotel and the final send off was so friendly as well."

"Overall pleasant stay at Cinnamon that I'd totally recommend to anyone and stay again myself. A comfortable bed, nicely sized room, beautiful property, convenient location, such friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast are just some basic memorable facts about our stay for 3 nights. The bakery downstairs, Plates restaurant, and the mall next door just add on to the comfort of the stay at Cinnamon Grand. To top it all off, we upgraded our stay to the executive floor, and accessed the lounge to enjoy a variety of mouth-watering snacks (that changed everyday) and took 2 free laundry/day offering. It couldn't get any better!"

"I really made the right choice; it was incredibly clean and comfortable, totally worth the four-star price and quality. The breakfast was very generous. Most importantly, everything felt new and cozy, unlike the dampness you get in older hotels. This place was clean and dry, which is quite rare. The lunch buffet was 3800 per person including tax, and I felt it was excellent value for money with a great variety of food. For 700, it included breakfast, and they even let us check in two hours early and extended our check-out to 1 PM. I absolutely loved it!"

"This hotel is in a great location. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The room is large and the bed seemed clean. That is where the positives end, unfortunately. Upon arrival, very late at night, after a long trip. There were no towels in the room. Too exhausted to rectify, we just went to sleep without a shower. The hotel has an off smell about it, a bit like wet carpet. The cleanliness is questionable. Some mould. It seems it is not thoroughly cleaned. Frequently. Our room was not attended to, so we didn't receive fresh water. If you need to get work done while at the hotel don't book here. The WiFi is intermittent and would only work on my phone, not laptop. Therefore it's not suitable for any online workers. The toiletries were less than those advertised. Body lotion, shampoo and body wash are all that are provided. There is an ironing board...but no iron. Why? The hairdryer is one of those models you must continually hold down the button for it to work. It would work for only around 5 minutes and then would shut off and then had to wait 5 minutes for it to cool down to use again"

"This is by far one of my most treasured hotels in the world. I’m now approaching 150 check-ins and no I don’t live in Sri Lanka! The Galle Face Hotel is perhaps “old and tired” in places, buts its service and care for its patrons is in my opinion beyond reproach. I’d recommend anybody to stay here. Mr Feroz who man who runs the “In on the Green”, the hotel pub, cares about his staff and his customers, with an unobtrusive approach that reflects across the hotel. Mr Gerard Paul, Asst Manager Front Desk is another manager that cares about customer experience.  The Head Consierge is simply amazing to all guests. Put this against bell boys, cleaners, wit staff in bars and restaurants this hotel has it all. Yes as I said it’s getting old but it epitomizes charm, and has capitalized on colonialism, to its advantage providing great employment to its local staff."

"I stumbled across this place on my phone after arriving on the island and booked it without a second thought. I was pleasantly surprised both on the way there and upon arrival. It's located a little outside the city and into the beautiful Sri Lankan countryside. The house is situated on the edge of a small village, with a rooftop terrace offering views of fields and forests. It's incredibly inviting and perfect for relaxing. The entire house is built with great attention to detail, and you immediately feel at home. The owner is incredibly hospitable, and the local food he offers is delicious. You can even learn a lot about the country from him. I stayed there for several days; it's a wonderful place to unwind. And it's not too complicated to get to the city. The nearest bus stop is only about a 15-minute walk away. I'd love to come back next time. Maybe next time there's even a pool on the rooftop terrace ;)"

"I had a fantastic stay at the Marino Beach Colombo Hotel, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Colombo. The energy of the hotel matches the city in the best way—there’s a lively, enjoyable atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel fun and memorable. One highlight for me was the great view from the hotel. It really adds to the overall vibe and makes it feel special, even when you’re just stepping out to take a moment. I’d highly recommend booking a room with a balcony. As a mature solo traveller, that private outdoor space made a big difference—especially in a city that can be hot and busy. Even when the day is energetic, the balcony offers that easy, tranquil respite you need to recharge. And the rooftop infinity pool? Absolutely wonderful—great views, a fantastic atmosphere, and a calm break from the city buzz. I also need to make special mention to Upendra. The entire reception/concierge service was brilliant, but Upendra’s attention to detail truly stood out. He supported me with my eSIM and helped with my transport needs, and I genuinely felt valued and cared for—like I was a beloved auntie. It’s exactly what I appreciate from young, enthusiastic staff. Finally, I have to mention the beach club. It was a great experience—and thanks to the life guard, I even got to enjoy a “tethered” swim in the sea. (And yes—at almost 6 feet tall, tethering this Viking shield Maiden really isn’t as fun as it sounds 😄😂) Thank you again, Upendra—and thank you to the Marino Beach Colombo Hotel team."

"I had a wonderful stay at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The service staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel environment was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. I especially loved the garden area, the swimming pool, and the stunning beach views. Waking up to the ocean view from my room was an amazing experience. Even the washroom was well-maintained and offered a great view, which made the stay feel even more special. What impressed me the most was the genuine hospitality of the staff. They made me feel welcome throughout my stay and paid attention to every detail to ensure my comfort. Overall, I would rate my experience 10/10. Everything—from the location and facilities to the service and atmosphere—was simply perfect. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Sri Lanka."

"I recently stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Colombo, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The room was extremely spacious, honestly one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in within Colombo. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the amenities were excellent. The room included everything you might need—tea and coffee facilities, toiletries, toothbrushes, and more. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the TV, office table was huge as well. All the facilities such as the lights, air conditioning, and fan worked perfectly, so we had no issues at all. Our room was on the 8th floor (top floor) and we had a nice view overlooking the Galle Face Hotel with a small view of the ocean. The location of the hotel is also excellent since it is very close to Galle Face Green and many other attractions in Colombo, which makes it very convenient for travelers. The check-in process was smooth, and they welcomed us with a refreshing welcome drink. One thing to note is that the security procedure is quite strict. When we had guests visiting our room briefly, they had to provide their IDs and go through a security check. It was the first time I experienced this in a hotel, but it is understandable since it helps maintain safety. Although we booked bed and breakfast, we later asked if we could add the dinner buffet, but unfortunately it was already full. However, something very kind happened later that night. My mother wanted chicken congee, so we asked the room service staff if it was available. Even though it was not on the menu at that moment, they were kind enough to prepare and send us a bowl of chicken congee. It was a very thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated their kindness. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a very wide variety of food, and everything we tried was delicious. My family has always liked the buffets at Ramada, and this time was no different. They also had live cooking stations, and the staff there were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, everything about the stay was great. The room, service, location, and food were all excellent. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. It is absolutely worth the price and offers great value for money."

"We had a lovely stay at this hotel overall. The private beach is beautiful and peaceful, making it a perfect place to relax. The pool area is also great, very clean and well maintained. Breakfast each morning was delicious with plenty of options to choose from. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had strong AC, which made a big difference in the heat. The staff were very kind and welcoming throughout our stay. One thing to note is that we didn’t receive responses regarding booking tours through the hotel, even after following up. I would recommend arranging any tours or activities in advance to avoid inconvenience. Overall, we enjoyed our time here and appreciated the relaxing atmosphere."
