"Everything is clean. The view is perfect. The room is quiet. The shower has good water pressure. The wifi is working perfectly. Free shower gel,shampoo, conditioner toothbrush /toothpaste. Very nice infinity pool at the rooftop whit a stunning view. Thr rooftop bar has a stunning view. The spa area has a small sauna for max 2 people (just for man) the ladies have a steambath, a whirlpool whit see view, gym, yoga/ dance room whit mirrors - there was no wardrobe"

"I stumbled across this place on my phone after arriving on the island and booked it without a second thought. I was pleasantly surprised both on the way there and upon arrival. It's located a little outside the city and into the beautiful Sri Lankan countryside. The house is situated on the edge of a small village, with a rooftop terrace offering views of fields and forests. It's incredibly inviting and perfect for relaxing. The entire house is built with great attention to detail, and you immediately feel at home. The owner is incredibly hospitable, and the local food he offers is delicious. You can even learn a lot about the country from him. I stayed there for several days; it's a wonderful place to unwind. And it's not too complicated to get to the city. The nearest bus stop is only about a 15-minute walk away. I'd love to come back next time. Maybe next time there's even a pool on the rooftop terrace ;)"

"Since there were no direct flight options, we arrived in Colombo at 5 AM. By the time we got to the hotel from the airport, it was already past 7 AM on the 11th. The hotel only allowed check-in after 2 PM. I had booked a king-sized bed, but there were no rooms available, so we had to opt for twin beds. We ended up paying an additional 10,000 LKR per room to check in. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but the facilities were quite comprehensive. The location is also very good, quite close to the beach."

"It was the first time I stay in this hotel. It is located near the seaside when you can find a beautiful scene for sunset. Very convenient and easy to access to shops/restaurants nearby. It is not far to the city centre when I had spent my good weekend. The breakfast had a lot of choices and they were tasty. The staffs in the restaurant/receiption were nice and helpful. I will stay in this hotel when I return to Colombo again."

"Very lovely stay at cinnamon red. Check in: I arrived pretty early - luggage storage and early check in once rooms were available no problem. Very friendly. Room: very clean and nice, great view Room service: extremely friendly, even asked me on the floor if everything was fine. Location: perfect. Walking distance to all sights (if you are used to a bit of walking) Gym: amazing. Super well equipped Pool and bar: great view from the rooftop. Nice staff Will choose this hotel again for my stay before flying out"

"Mount Lavinia Hotel used to be so good - not anymore. AC's dont work properly. Phones in room dont work, they give a mobile number to call instead. House keeping takes ages to come. Not the Great hotel we once knew anymore."

"The hotel is close to the sea, but buildings block the view, so you can't really see it. It's very close to the mini-train along the coast, and there are supermarkets and malls nearby, which is quite convenient. I arrived two hours early, and they allowed me to check in ahead of time. While I waited, they even offered me a glass of juice. Surprisingly, they didn't charge me the extra $3+ that I was supposed to pay on-site (I reminded the staff, but after checking, they told me it wasn't necessary). I booked a two-meal package, both buffets. The dinner selection seemed less extensive than breakfast, perhaps because fewer people booked it. A bit of a mix-up happened because I wasn't told the dining times, so I went for dinner before 7 PM. The restaurant was completely empty. Later, I saw on a screen that dinner apparently starts at 7 PM, but the staff member just let me in without explanation – which honestly gave me a very good feeling about their service. The room was spacious, and the type I booked surprisingly had two beds pushed together to form a super-king size. The soundproofing with the next room was pretty good; the people next door were playing music from check-in until after 10 PM, but I could only hear a faint sound once the street quieted down. That's acceptable. Sometimes the street noise was quite noticeable, but my tolerance for ambient street noise is higher than my tolerance for noise from neighboring rooms. The pool is on the top floor, and so is the restaurant. As an introvert, I'm not a big fan of this design. Overall, the stay was quite comfortable and offered excellent value for money."

"Although the hotel boasts a history of over 150 years and has hosted the Queen of England, it's really run-down. My room had cockroaches, geckos, and mosquitoes – a complete mini-ecosystem! The only positives were the cheap price and the decent breakfast. The dining area is right by the sea, offering beautiful harbor views."

"I stayed a wonderful couple of days at Colombo Court. The hotel is lovely and the room spacious and very comfortable. The staff are really friendly, helpful and there is always someone around if you need anything. I had a wonderful massage at the spa as well, which really added to the luxury experience. I would absolutely stay here again!"
