"The room was very clean. However, I can hear a lot of noise in the next room, probably because the walls are a little thin. I woke up around 3 o'clock in the middle of the night with the sound of the shower in the next room. It took about 40 minutes to walk to the center of Cairns. It was hard to walk in the hot sun, but it was a good exercise. It was good that everyone in Pront was polite. Even before check-in, he was willing to keep his luggage and arranged a taxi."

"Overall, this hostel deserves 4 out of 5 stars. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I especially liked the central location and the pleasant atmosphere. The common areas were also modern and comfortably designed. My only minor criticisms would be the noise at night and the somewhat small bathrooms in some rooms. Nevertheless, the stay was very enjoyable overall, and it offered good value for money."

"Great location, just across the road from the beachfront promenade. I really loved the modern, minimalist style of the hotel. However, room cleaning needs improvement. The Asian woman at the front desk was very cold and gave me a low-floor room, claiming all rooms were full. Later, I realized that Asian guests were generally assigned to lower floors. 😤"

"Staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns for 3 nights across two rooms, I genuinely feel it offers exceptional value for money! Upon arrival at the front desk for check-in, we were immediately greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies. Having just gotten off the plane and feeling a bit hungry, it was such a welcoming touch. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and thoughtfully arranged for our rooms to be on the same floor, which was incredibly convenient for traveling with elderly parents and children. The rooms themselves were clean and tidy, with good views and scenery. Breakfast was fresh with a wide variety of choices, and the service staff were all very friendly. Downstairs, there's a restaurant and a ping-pong table, which our kids absolutely loved playing with. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try the swimming pool. Its location is another huge plus: Right across the street is the aquarium, and it's just a 5-minute walk to the beach. Walking to the marina for boat trips takes about 10–15 minutes, making it convenient to get everywhere. Overall, the experience was fantastic. For family travelers, this is absolutely the perfect choice!"

"Great location, within walking distance to the pier and surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. The room was spacious, and although the facilities were a bit dated, it was clean. Free parking was a huge plus."

"Great stay, even better than expected. We were lucky and got a room with a great view. The location was incredibly convenient and close to many nearby amenities. The doorbell phone to ring the night manager by Gate 1 was not working however, luckily someone was coming out and was kind enough to let us in to ring the night manager at the main phone."

"The Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality."

"Cairns Central Plaza Apar**ent Hotel is located in the city center. The surrounding environment is quite good. It is close to a large supermarket (across the road), the train station for traveling to Kurland Forest (5 minutes walk), and even the cruise company for visiting the Great Barrier Reef is only 15 minutes walk. It is really convenient. There is a kitchen with all the kitchenware. You can cook delicious food, enjoy the scenery, and take beautiful photos. It is so beautiful. I want to book it again, maybe next year..."
