"A very comfortable vacation spot! The hotel is a 20-minute drive to Banff and a 5-minute drive to the supermarket. It has an underground heated parking lot. The room feels just like home, even equipped with salt and pepper, dish soap, and laundry detergent. It was super convenient to wash and dry my muddy pants after coming back from Banff. I could also cook a rich dinner after returning from the supermarket. The frying pan was a bit sticky at the bottom, and there was a little noise insulation issue, but everything else was excellent!"

"It was a beautiful hotel with breathtaking mountain views and a peaceful atmosphere. The fresh mountain air was incredibly relaxing. The room was spotless, and the bathtub was especially comfortable. All of the staff were warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. They made my stay even more enjoyable. I'd love to stay here again."

"First time in Canada and we chose to visit the Banff / Jasper area. Canmore is more reasonably priced and still pretty convenient ! The room was very clean , and the sound from the trains passing by was quite bearable , if you value ABSOLUTE quietness then I would suggest the hotel provide EARPLUGS for those who are extra sensitive Besides that, great rooms, location, and breakfast was pretty decent as well !"

"We stayed at the Chateau Canmore, and due to difficulties with our original booking at another hotel, we were offered a an upgrade free of charge. Excellent customer service, and the superior suite was clean, large, and comfortable. It was also very easily reached off the highway, and with a 20 min walk of downtown Canmore. Awesome stay. "The hotel is in a great location, right on Banff Avenue. The bus to the Banff Gondola and Lake Louise is near the hotel, and the transportation is convenient. However, the hotel's sound insulation is average, the air conditioner is very loud, slippers are not provided, and the facilities are not complete."

"The room is perfect for families as it’s spacious. The one we stayed in can accommodate up to six people, making it a great option for larger groups. Although it’s not located right in downtown Canmore, it’s only a short drive away. Our room also had a kitchen, which is perfect if you prefer to cook your own meals. Basic cooking utensils, such as pans, are provided, although some of them are a little worn and could be updated. The room itself is a little dated, and some of the chairs had damaged surfaces. It would also be better if the reception opened earlier, as it was still closed when we wanted to speak to someone at 8:15 a.m. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here."

"The view from the room and hallway was spectacular. The staff was friendly, polite, and accommodating. He answered all our questions with big smiles and helped us with all our needs. The room is big. A door separates the bedroom and dining room. The dining room has a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and tiny sink. A fireplace too inside the room The whirlpool outside was a bonus and felt relaxed while enjoying the fresh, cool air after a long day of driving and walking. Bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and had a very good night sleep. Won't hesitate to book here again."

"I recently stayed at the Canmore Inn & Suites on Bow Valley Trail. While the property itself has potential and offers a convenient base for exploring the Rockies, my experience was significantly dampened by a factor I wasn't prepared for: a major local hockey tournament. The ”Tournament” Factor I was unaware upon booking that my stay coincided with a Canmore hockey tournament for U11 and U13 divisions. To say these teams ”took over the hotel” would be an understatement. The volume of children was overwhelming. This translated to: The Pool Area: Practically unusable for other guests; it was packed to capacity with kids from morning until night. Common Areas: Hallways and the lobby were very loud and, at times, felt uncontrollable. Lack of Supervision: There was a noticeable lack of adult/parental supervision in the public spaces, leading to a chaotic atmosphere that isn't ideal if you're looking for a relaxing mountain getaway. Staff and Noise Management To the hotel’s credit, the noise did mostly settle down by 10:30 PM. I spoke with the front desk, and they mentioned we could issue formal noise complaints if needed. However, it felt like a losing battle given the sheer volume of groups. The staff are clearly used to this, as these local tournaments bring in consistent bookings for the hotel. While the team was polite, they seemed stretched thin by the high occupancy and the energy of the young athletes. The Room and Amenities Pros: The location is excellent—close to downtown and Highway 1. The rooms are generally spacious, and the mountain views from the upper floors are a highlight. Cons: The property is showing its age. Some fixtures felt dated, and the cleanliness in the high-traffic common areas suffered due to the heavy foot traffic during the tournament. Final Verdict The simpler solution here is a matter of timing. If you aren't in town to participate in or spectate a tournament, check the local sports calendar before booking. If a U11/U13 tournament is on, I would recommend staying elsewhere. If you are here for the hockey, this is clearly the ”hub,” but for the average traveler, the lack of peace and quiet makes it hard to justify the price point during these peak weekends."

"I loved it as always; this is my second time staying at this hotel. The room the front desk gave me was right in the middle, which I was very happy with. Soaking in the jacuzzi with the view of the Rocky Mountains was fantastic. The service was also excellent. Aside from the price, everything else was perfect. Canmore is a hidden gem of a town, no less beautiful than Banff! However, the hotel's food could use some improvement."
