"We try to go to Canmore a few times a year and enjoy staying here. They have large pet friendly rooms available which feel like an amazing deal compared to other hotels. They provided pet beds and bowls for food/water. The kitchen has all you would need. Thank you and we will be back in 2026!!"

"I recently stayed at the Canmore Inn & Suites on Bow Valley Trail. While the property itself has potential and offers a convenient base for exploring the Rockies, my experience was significantly dampened by a factor I wasn't prepared for: a major local hockey tournament. The ”Tournament” Factor I was unaware upon booking that my stay coincided with a Canmore hockey tournament for U11 and U13 divisions. To say these teams ”took over the hotel” would be an understatement. The volume of children was overwhelming. This translated to: The Pool Area: Practically unusable for other guests; it was packed to capacity with kids from morning until night. Common Areas: Hallways and the lobby were very loud and, at times, felt uncontrollable. Lack of Supervision: There was a noticeable lack of adult/parental supervision in the public spaces, leading to a chaotic atmosphere that isn't ideal if you're looking for a relaxing mountain getaway. Staff and Noise Management To the hotel’s credit, the noise did mostly settle down by 10:30 PM. I spoke with the front desk, and they mentioned we could issue formal noise complaints if needed. However, it felt like a losing battle given the sheer volume of groups. The staff are clearly used to this, as these local tournaments bring in consistent bookings for the hotel. While the team was polite, they seemed stretched thin by the high occupancy and the energy of the young athletes. The Room and Amenities Pros: The location is excellent—close to downtown and Highway 1. The rooms are generally spacious, and the mountain views from the upper floors are a highlight. Cons: The property is showing its age. Some fixtures felt dated, and the cleanliness in the high-traffic common areas suffered due to the heavy foot traffic during the tournament. Final Verdict The simpler solution here is a matter of timing. If you aren't in town to participate in or spectate a tournament, check the local sports calendar before booking. If a U11/U13 tournament is on, I would recommend staying elsewhere. If you are here for the hockey, this is clearly the ”hub,” but for the average traveler, the lack of peace and quiet makes it hard to justify the price point during these peak weekends."

"Sofa/sofabed dirty. The sheets weren't changed on the sofa bed. The sofabed makes a loud noise when turning while sleeping on it. Pee stains on carpet. Regardless of above fully functional."

"Location: Excellent location, close to shops and restaurants, etc. and easy to get out of town quickly. Cleanliness: Good overall, but hair in the bathroom, especially shower. Service: There is no hospitality service here, only (attempted) automated provision of a room - which is fine if customers are made aware of this when booking. I booked a couple of days before we stayed. The day of, I received 9 different emails. This included changes to room numbers and door codes. There is no option to check in at the desk on arrival. When we arrived the door code provided in the most recent email didn't work. The email said if there is a problem to go to the front desk in the Electric Wolf Cafe. I looked this up on Google (I am from out of town, had data access but not phone calls) and walked around looking for the Electric Wolf Cafe. After no luck, I popped into a place next door called something else to ask and the girl said that the Electric Wolf Cafe is closed but this was in fact the front desk for the hotel... She was surprised that the emails that I received that day mentioned a closed cafe and asked me to screenshot this and send it to her? I just wanted a correct door code for the room, which she provided. . Facilities: I asked about the hot tub, which she said was closed for renovations. When I mentioned that this was not shared when booking the hotel she said we could use the hot tub at a sister hotel. The primary reason for booking this hotel was because it is conveniently located downtown - we weren't going to get into the car to go get into a hot tub at a different hotel. So there wasn't any facilities beyond the room and a soda machine. No lobby. Parking is available and convenient."

"The hotel has a great location, only 15 minutes from Banff. It feels more like a cozy house than a typical hotel, with plenty of amenities provided. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to stay while exploring the area."

"The location of the hotel is great — not too far from downtown. It’s walkable, but driving is definitely faster. The place is clean, and the service is excellent. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. The hotel’s restaurant-bar serves delicious food at reasonable prices. I’ll definitely stay here again."

"I recently stayed at this hotel, and while there were some positives, a few details left me disappointed. The hotel is new and very clean, which was great to see, but unfortunately, it fell short in some areas. One glaring issue was the table soccer in the game area – it had no balls, making it completely unusable. This might seem minor, but it’s frustrating when advertised amenities are incomplete. Additionally, many of the amenities felt incompatible or poorly thought out. Whether it was the plugs, chargers, or other facilities, things just didn’t work smoothly or as expected. Overall, while the cleanliness and newness of the hotel were impressive, the lack of attention to detail with amenities made the stay less enjoyable than it could have been."

"We had a great 3 night stay here. We got the room with the balcony where you can see the mountains too. I really appreciate their room service. When we use to return to our rooms after a long day, the room and bathroom would be tidied up and provided fresh towels. The room was a decent size, it had an iron and microwave. The beds were comfy. The breakfast was awesome. It opened at 7am. We would leave the hotel for a long day with our bellies full. The staff was constantly refilling and cleaning the tables. The varieties were great and tasty. I loves their eggs, hash browns and seasoned potato wedges. They also had orange, apple and pomegranate juice. They have a nice conveyor toaster which I thought was convenient for everyone. We never had trouble with parking. The waterslide and pool is great fun. They also have a hot tub and sauna. I really appreciate the shower/restroom they have by the pool so you can shower and change before heading back to your room. There’s plenty of pool towels too. The location is near to several restaurants and gas stations. I would recommend staying here."

"The outside of building is quite run down. Parking is not always granted to guests as it fills up quickly. I kept smelling food coming through the vents. The rooms are old with 70s flooring and old plumbing. It shouldn't be costing $95 for here for a 2 queen room. What what it is, I wouldn't felt okay paying $50 to stay."
