"This B&B is located inside the scenic area, and our room faced the street. We heard tricycles and electric scooters driving by all night, and the sound of their wheels on the cobblestone street was incredibly disruptive, making it impossible to sleep. Perhaps the rooms facing the water would be quieter. This completely shattered my perception of the peaceful and gentle ambiance I'd experienced in other Jiangnan water towns like Wuzhen and Nanxun.
The hotel's location is otherwise decent, about a 3-4 minute walk from Sujia Alley. We arrived by bus from Wuzhen, and walking from the visitor center was quite inconvenient. While the room was generally clean and tidy, there were mosquitoes, and quite large ones at that. They did provide disposable towels, which was a nice touch. The proprietress at the front desk kindly helped us carry our luggage upstairs, and the hotel helped us purchase tickets for 70 yuan."

"The weather was cold and snowy, but the hotel service was incredibly warm, definitely a plus. I received a call from Ms. Yin, the customer service representative, even before arriving at the hotel. Ms. Wang, who handled check-in, was patient and attentive throughout, providing detailed information about breakfast times and answering all my questions. The room was clean and tidy, and there were five complimentary bottles of mineral water. Although there were a few minor flaws, Manager Dai handled them very well, and I was very satisfied. I will definitely stay here again. Furthermore, the hotel is located in the city center with complete surrounding facilities, beautiful night views, a large and convenient parking lot, and delicious breakfast."

"My short two days stay is the end, but feel reluctant to leave—really wish I could stay a little longer, This is the most wonderful Jiangnan water town I have ever visited—Xitan—natural,nostalgic, and peaceful.Everything here from food to accommodation, is incredibly convenient. "I brought my elderly parents to Xitang for Women's Day, and a friend recommended this hotel inside the scenic area. It truly has a beautiful Chinese garden design, with winding paths that create a wonderful sense of seclusion. We stayed in a balcony room, which even had a swing chair. It was incredibly pleasant to swing and chat with my family as the sun set. The room's wet/dry separation design was very practical, and the room service was exceptionally attentive. It was also very convenient to walk into the core scenic area. We had a panoramic view of Xitang bathed in sunshine and later, illuminated by fishing boats and lights. Watching people in traditional Hanfu attire wander through the scenic area felt like traveling a thousand years back in time, perfectly embodying the creative concept behind the 'Guangnian' (Lightyear) Hotel name!"

I received a call immediately after booking to confirm my arrival time and arrange ticket purchases (discounts available, free for seniors over 70). A friendly staff member picked me up and helped with my luggage; they responded promptly to any questions.
Regarding the environment, I really loved the courtyard and cabins.
Sitting in the courtyard watching the swaying trees and listening to the wind and birdsong was the epitome of idyllic living. However, the reality is that there are mosquitoes, and it gets quite chilly in late autumn and early winter.
The duplex layout was a highlight when I chose the room, but I wouldn't recommend it for older people. Getting up at night requires climbing stairs to the first floor, which isn't very safe.
The bathroom doesn't have a door, so water splashes onto the sink area. There's no absorbent mat either; I suggest improvements.
Also, the air conditioner is extremely noisy, but when it's off, it's very cold and damp, and the blankets feel damp. The staff member mentioned that the noise seems particularly loud when it's quiet here.
I explained the situation to the young lady, and she changed my room to ”West Window Dream” for the second night. Although the atmosphere and design were slightly inferior, the standing air conditioner was powerful, and she even added a blanket and an electric blanket, which satisfied my comfort needs! Thank you, Xiao Wen, for your service!

GGuest UserThe minimalist design of Xitang Yuanzhu HOTEL is absolutely charming. The predominantly white color scheme gives it a fresh and elegant feel. The hotel's rooftop garden is a photographer's dream, with many unique backdrops perfect for snapping some great photos.
The location is excellent, right within the Xitang scenic area and quite central. Although it's close to the bar street, it's surprisingly quiet, so the soundproofing is pretty good. The rooms are clean and quite spacious.
For families traveling with pets, this place is incredibly accommodating! You can bring your pets, and there's no cleaning fee. The room even has a small patio; while not huge, it's perfect for a little dog to wander around in.

DdyhxWhat a beautiful hotel, from outside to inside. It's located just outside Xitang Scenic Area, but they have a backdoor through the garden where the staff can escort and bring guests thru so you don't have to pay again for a ticket to enter the attraction.
Every bit of the room is spacious, from the bathroom to shower area to the bedroom. I love how the bed faces a full ceiling to floor window where you can wake up to a lovely view while still lying in bed.
The bed and pillows are firm and comfy. The water pressure in the shower is good but hard to control the temperature. The hair dryer is a little weak and took a while to dry my short hair. The room also came with a generous plate of fresh fruits.
Service was excellent and friendly. Breakfast buffet was simple, nothing fancy but the usual staples are there and food quality is ok. The live noodles station was the best for me, can't go wrong with hot noodles soup & wantons, especially on a cold morning.
Was given a beautiful tea cup as a farewell gift at check-out.
Overall it was a great stay and I highly recommend anyone planning to stay a night at Xitang to stay here!

GGuest UserPerfect location - just a few minutes walk away from the scenic area but far enough to have a great night sleep away from the noise. It was not the easiest to find, as trip.com location wasn't accurate, however we got picked up from one of the entrance gates and guided to the property.
The facilities are simple but smoke free, clean and very comfortable. The courtyard within was lovely and peaceful. We felt welcome.

Environment: As soon as you come in, you will feel hidden in the city. The courtyard is very large, and the large terrace on the second floor will take you into the feeling of walking into the garden.
Service: The lady at the front desk is very polite, wearing traditional Chinese costumes, and pointing out the route to the scenic spot. Very satisfied

GGuest UserA fantastic staycation experience. The facilities were impeccable, both in terms of amenities and service. The gym, while compact, was surprisingly well-equipped, and even during peak hours, it wasn't overly crowded, making for a pleasant workout.
Overall cleanliness was excellent. I noticed a slight stain on a pillow which was promptly replaced. Later, I accidentally spilled a blueberry drink late at night, and the staff were incredibly responsive in cleaning it up – a major plus!
The surroundings were breathtaking, brimming with exquisite design. The central courtyard's pond and pavilion exuded a beautiful traditional Chinese aesthetic.
The service was enthusiastic yet discreet, striking the perfect balance throughout our stay.
I would definitely love to visit again!

GGuest UserI chose this hotel after looking online for a long time. The sanitary conditions are really good. I booked a room on the second floor, facing the river. I loved the floor-to-ceiling windows next to the bed. The scenery outside the window was also very beautiful.
Free pick-up or drop-off at Xitang Scenic Area Station: the store manager specially drove to pick us up, and also gave us a fruit plate when we arrived at the hotel. The reception service was very warm!
ps: His home is only 80 meters away from the entrance of the scenic spot. It is very convenient to enter and exit the scenic spot. Because you can enter and exit the scenic spot at will by swiping your face within 24 hours, you can sleep in late the next day and rush to the entrance of the scenic spot for the last time.

GGuest UserFinally, I stayed here on my own. I'd always booked for clients before, but this time, I brought a friend along to experience a river-view room in the heart of Xitang. It was worth the trip.
We also saw the flower boats. There weren't many, only six, but they were perfect for the setting.
Interlude: I asked the landlady to borrow two beautiful fire goblets, and then my friend dropped them on the floor. The first thing the landlady asked was if we had any scratches, and she didn't ask for compensation.

MMichael ZargarovThis is a marvelous homestay-guesthouse. Located in a quiet area of the old-town, but very close to many bars and restaurants. Next door to a temple.
The owner is a friendly man who loves cats... and has three lazy, fat cats who sleep most of the time. He even gave us chilled bottles of Perrier French mineral water upon our arrival! The courtyard has two Loquat trees which provided many delicious fruits.
Our room was upstairs in this renovated old Qing-Dynasty house. We had a small private balcony. The bed was very comfortable, with great bolster pillows for watching movies on the huge screen. There was a refrigerator in the room. The bathroom was huge and even included a Japanese toilet with bidet functions. Soft towels. Good toiletries.
The included breakfasts, served in the courtyard, were wonderful. Fried bread, two-kinds of dumplings, soy milk, boiled eggs. Delicious coffee. Watermelon slices.
Xitang is a beautiful, if a bit over-commercialized ”ancient” town. We enjoyed our visit, and this lovely guest-house. The guesthouse is a bit hard to locate. It is in the Eastern part of the old town, near the bar street. For those who enjoy Hanfu, there are MANY shops nearby where you can rent the costumes.

JJoyMoonStayed here for 3d2n on March 9 2025! The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is in Xitang which is a tourist area so come in after 5pm and the entrance fee is free!
The hotel staff was really friendly as we left a note letting them know that my partner is a professional photographer so we booked a room with a balcony to take pictures. Before we checked-in, the owner offered to bring us to another hotel he owns in the area to see if liked the views there better but we still chose to stay in Manjuelong.
The rooms are quite spacious and the hotel was quite quiet at the time. The hotel is situated inside a tourist area which was quite convenient for us to walk around and explore!
If we go back to Jiaxing again, we will consider staying here again!
