"We stayed in a room with an upstairs and downstairs level. It was spacious and beautifully appointed with a bathroom on each floor and a gorgeous private terrace. The host was very kind and helpful. The only issue we had was that in order for it to be a comfortable temperature upstairs, the downstairs had to be extremely cold. Putting a small air conditioner upstairs would be a good addition. Other than that, it was 10/10!"

"I booked this room specifically because of the landlady's intricately carved bed. It's rare to find rooms with such beds in ancient towns these days. The location is excellent, right by the river, with a small balcony offering beautiful nighttime views. The landlady is very welcoming, and there are also adorable cats."

"I booked the Five Lakes Riverside Balcony Room with Main Channel View and Bathroom at Regalia Riverside for Dec 30 and 31, 2025. The room looks exactly as it does in the photos. The balcony has plug ins, teapot, teacups and tea prepared for you. Across the balcony, you can see the famous bridge and the boat station. You can also see up and down the channel. Room size is good for 2 persons. In the room is a heater/AC which worked perfectly and Ms. Sun also kindly turned on the heater since she knew my arrival time. The room has a kettle but no cups, coffee. Luckily I had brought my own. Also, know that the hotel does not provide breakfast - not a problem for me but for those we eat breakfast, just step outside. Location is perfect, it's in the heart of ancient town so easy to walk everywhere. Outside your door is snack street and at the end of the street is a ”food court”. Despite it's central location and opposite of the boat station, the noise was manageable. When I closed the balcony doors, I didn't hear anything (maybe too cold for people to loiter around?). Everyone was very nice and kind. Ms. Sun went out of her way to help me with my return bus ticket to Hangzhou, giving me directions on how to arrive at the hotel/meeting point where she waited for me, and her colleague even walked and waited for my car when I departed for Hangzhou. Going from Hangzhou to Xitang was an adventure as I read many different versions and my hotel told me another in my research. All in all, i highly recommend Regalia and Xitang! Thank you to Ms Sun and everyone for making my 2026 new year experience so memorable!"

"Along the riverside of the core scenic area of Xitang are all homestays, including this one. We stayed on the first floor, and we had to climb the attic to the second floor. The balcony of the room faces the river, and opposite is the Misty Corridor and the Songzi Laifeng Bridge. You can sit on the balcony and watch the cruise ships coming and going in the river. It is so close, and the scenery is really great! This homestay is very close to Xiyuan, Wangzhai and Shipinong, which is very convenient for playing! The boss came to the parking lot to pick us up, and the service was also good! The room facilities are really simple, there is not even a decent table and chair, and the bedding is all disposable covers. The hygiene can be guaranteed, but it feels a bit rough when sleeping. The bath water is very good and large, and the non-slip slippers are also safe. The room is next to the water, and there are many mosquitoes, but there are no mosquitoes at night, which is very satisfactory."

"Arrived at 9 o'clock in the evening, living in Xitang Scenic Area, I feel very convenient to go shopping during the day. The accommodation is a duplex room. The boss went to the entrance of the village to pick it up. The room was very clean and satisfied. 👍"

"Don't book this guesthouse if you want to see the night view of Xitang. It's far from the center of Xitang, and the riverside rooms have no lights outside, so the view isn't good at all. Secondly, this guesthouse is next to a fish spa, so the soundproofing is terrible, and the fish spa is very noisy. Other than that, the conditions are okay. If you don't care about the night view and don't mind the noise, you can book it."

"I decided to go to Xitang on the spur of the moment, so I randomly found a hotel on Ctrip. Unexpectedly, I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the boss is very enthusiastic. The hotel is very close to the scenic spot, so it may not be particularly easy to find. We added the boss on WeChat to pick us up. Show us where to park for free. The room is large and the environment is very good. It's very novel and my daughter likes it very much. The bed was very soft and comfortable. During the Chinese New Year, I was really happy to stay in a hotel like this near a scenic spot. Highly recommended. I will choose to stay here next time I come. I wish my boss a happy new year and a prosperous business."

"Location was very convenient, right next to the entrance to scenic area. But the room itself wasn't cleaned properly. Fresh bedsheets were Okey ish. Lots of hair on the matrass from previous travelers. Balcony was covered in stains and wasn't cleaned in a while. Some sockets and light switches were broken and soundproofing is non existent. You could basically feel people going up the stairs like it was on your head. From positive things pretty view from the balcony in the morning. Wouldn't recommend going during holidays, cause prices skyrocket during that time."

"We are *********. We booked this B&B based on the reviews. I was not disappointed. The lady boss is really nice, gentle and talkative. The lady boss's daughter is pretty, generous and talkative... Stayed here for 3 nights. Tan Bai said that I slept well and lived well. The hostess would help me with any needs. It felt like we were family. Thank you to my elegant daughter for ordering food for me. I was really touched❤️❤️ The location of this homestay is very good🎉🎉, it is close to the ancient town, it is super close, only 2 minutes away, there are many things to eat when you walk to the main road, I especially recommend the breakfast shop at the entrance of the alley where a couple and their daughter sell breakfast, it is delicious😋delicious😋.. I ate it for 3 days in a row, fried noodles, fried rice, steamed buns, soy milk, awesome👍👍👍 If I have the chance to come to Xitang Ancient Town again, I will stay here again❤️ Thank you, my dear wife and pretty daughter ㊗️Your business is booming and customers are coming in continuously🎆"
