I was very satisfied with this stay in Lijiang! Although walking in the ancient town was a bit difficult, and we were constantly wandering around, the free shuttle bus we received on check-in and check-out days was a real lifesaver! Otherwise, traveling with elderly people and luggage would have been impossible. The rooms are wonderful, with smart home furnishings. I was particularly impressed by the rooftop terrace, complete with tables, chairs, and a parasol, where we could enjoy a quiet afternoon tea and take in the scenery of Shuhe Ancient Town.
A special shout-out to the friendly guy who met us on our first day (I didn't ask his name), the front desk lady, and Xiao Ming, the guy who dropped us off on our last day. They were very considerate of our elderly family, especially on our second day, when we weren't there. He even brought breakfast and contacted me on WeChat to ask if they needed any help. Thank you! It felt like home! Everyone is welcome to choose this B&B!

Perfect
GGuest UserEverything about this place, from location to hospitality, is amazing! The homestay arranged to pick us up at an intersection and carried our luggages all the way.
The sound proofing of the rooms are not that good though, so a word of caution for light sleepers.
During our stay, 小李 took really good care of us, never failed to ask what we intended to do on each day, provided help and suggestionsto us on what to do. We started and ended each day chatting with him. 😊
On our check out day, we had to leave at 6.30am to Shangri-La and 小李 woke up to help us with our luggages and waited with us till our driver came! We could not thank him enough and appreciate him going all the way to help us.
We had a wonderful 5-day stay and Lijiang made an impression on us. We definitely recommend anyone to stay there..
WWeiixuannOur stay at this hotel was the highlight of our Yunnan trip, thanks to the incredible staff. We were warmly welcomed with afternoon snacks and genuine care. The scenery from our hotel room was spectacular!
The service was truly thoughtful as well. The staff asked about our itinerary and offered excellent recommendations for local food and attractions. When they found out we were going to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Tiger Leaping Gorge, they went the extra mile and prepared a bag of snacks for us to help prevent altitude sickness. This kind of personal attention is rare and so appreciated.
It's a wonderful place to stay where you will definitely feel the warmth and hospitality. We felt completely at home and would recommend it to anyone!
GGuest UserThis guesthouse we stayed at in Lijiang Old Town truly is a hidden gem! Tucked away in a small alley opposite the Mu's Residence gate, it escapes the hustle and bustle of the main streets. Stepping inside feels like entering another world. The courtyard boasts a high-end and elegant design, and from the second-floor terrace, you can enjoy views of distant rooftops and the Old Town's nightscape. Sitting on a rocking chair at night, listening to the chirping of insects while sipping tea, was simply blissful.
The owner was incredibly thoughtful; he not only arranged for our luggage to be picked up at the Old Town entrance beforehand but also recommended authentic local eateries known only by residents. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the bedding super plush, and even the toiletries were from a niche brand with a subtle tea fragrance. This peaceful oasis amidst the lively area was exactly what I was looking for – just a few minutes' walk from Sifang Street, yet offering a unique sense of serenity. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Lijiang who wants to truly experience the slow-paced life of the Old Town. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!
AAnonymous UserThis place is great, I'd stay here again! The owner is really nice. The only thing is you have to hike up and down a hill, which is quite a workout.
Complimentary transfer (airport/train station, choose one): Excellent! I arrived in the middle of the night, but the owner still arranged a pick-up.
Goodnight drink: When I got to the room, there was already a sweet soup prepared. One cup warmed me right up.
Facilities: The bed is huge, big enough for three people, perfect for a family trip. The bathtub is also very large with plenty of hot water. They even provide disposable bath liners, which is a thoughtful touch.
Cleanliness: Very clean and hygienic. During my stay, they asked every day if I needed the housekeeper to clean the room, which was very considerate.
Environment: The place is beautifully decorated in a natural style.
Service: Very attentive. There's breakfast and afternoon tea every day, although I was too lazy to get up for it even once, which is a shame. I'll definitely try it next time!
GGuest UserWe reach Lijiang old city at 830am after midnight flight from Malaysia. The inn keeper was there to meet us and take our bags.. Being a ancient city, it's all full of stones stairs and winding small lanes. Need to have a good shoes and grip. After settling down, Xiao Fen, the inn manager recommended us some nice food to eat while the room was being prepared for us. At 11am, our room wa ready and we took a nap before heading for more food.
Xiao Fen recommend to us the do and don't, to escape tourist traps. She is so sincere. The room view was excellent, overlooking the old city as its location was slightly uphill area. To get a taxi, it's so easy, just a 5mins walk uphill. This area only Green local taxi are allowed to pick and send customer uphill.
And before I end the review, the breakfast was excellent. The noodles was great and lots of other variety of food, like corn, pumpkin porridge, sweet potatoes, yogurt, steamed bao, milk, soya bean drink..
AAnonymous UserWe were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived in Lijiang. The owner and staff constantly prepared tea, fruit, and flower cakes for us, which was incredibly touching! They also consistently checked in on our plans, reminded us how to buy things, and enthusiastically recommended delicious restaurants and fun places to visit. Waking up in the morning, we could go downstairs and enjoy the guesthouse's breakfast rice noodles, which were especially tasty and fragrant.
Next time I visit Lijiang, I will definitely choose this place again! Thank you all so much for your warmth and hospitality.
AAndreawang7This trip to Lijiang was truly highlighted by the Lijiang Shitoucuo Snow Mountain Resort! From the thoughtful reminders in the exclusive service chat group when I booked, to the warm smile of the butler taking my luggage when I got out of the car, I felt perfectly cared for throughout, and my happiness level was through the roof.
The most delightful surprise was the hotel's optional horseback riding activity, an absolute hidden gem at the foot of the snow-capped mountains. The Naxi horseman was incredibly professional; he not only explained riding precautions beforehand but also shared fascinating legends of the snow mountain and Naxi culture during the ride. He guided us through alpine meadows, bringing us up close to the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. I felt completely safe the entire time, and it was an amazing way to discover a unique, off-the-beaten-path experience without needing to plan anything myself – far more reliable than finding a stable on my own.
The accommodation experience was equally impeccable. My room overlooked a vast lawn, and the original stone wall texture exuded a sense of rustic luxury. Every detail showed careful thought: freshly brewed milk tea that could be refilled anytime, crispy potato chips and delicious yak jerky during afternoon tea – every shot was picture-perfect. In the evening, the bonfire party brought staff and guests together to dance, sing, and share stories, instantly bridging any initial unfamiliarity.
Shitoucuo's service is never just superficial politeness. Here, you can truly experience the warmth of Naxi culture while enjoying the comfort of a high-end resort. The romantic experience of horseback riding with views of the snow-capped mountains is unforgettable. This is definitely a divine hotel I'll be revisiting!
SSheryl 宜芬Cleanliness: room was slightly dusty. Spiders and insects in the room, but expected because it has many oriental decorations that require constant cleaning to prevent dust accummulation.
Location: convenient, it’s of walking distance to the north gate, easy to stroll around to different parts of the ancient town.
Service: I have never given a bad review for the service attitude of any accomodations which I’ve stayed at in China, but I honestly think that the service here is mediocre and more reactive than proactive. They fulfil the basics of bringing your luggage up to your room, giving directions to the laundry and breakfast areas and arranging for pick up from the station to the hotel for a stay of at least three consecutive nights. I cannot speak for all the service staff, but the service staff that mainly tended to me during the stay definitely needs to be improved. He was helpful when I needed help for the laundry setting. However, when I needed help with booking tickets to snow mountain (I’m a foreigner and do not have a local number), it was a rather frustrating experience. He shared that the booking of tickets to Yulong Snow Mountain can be done 3-4 days in advance, and he could help me when I arrive at the accommodations. When I arrived, it was 4 days in advance but he was rather nonchalent and did not manage to help me secure tickets for my intended date of visit and had to eventually rely on the tour group to help change dates. The night before the tour visit, I had to reach out on wechat to ask about when and where the meeting point is for the tour. Even after the tour, I even had to ask several times to pay for the tour tickets as he had helped me to secure the ticket to the glacier park cablecar eventually. I had already shared that I could not transfer money on wechat and could only do via scanning his wechat/alipay qr code or vice versa. I feel that given that you guys are located in Lijiang and located near to Jade Snow Mountain, you should have encountered other customers who need help with the booking and this shouldn’t have been such a stressful tour booking experience.
Amenities: they have two all-in-1 washing machine and drying amenities which was rather helpful. In the original room which i had booked, the air con leaked at around 10pm+. I texted the service staff on wechat and another staff came 5-10minutes later to check. This staff said it’s normal for the air con to leak at times especially if it’s blocked. After checking, he offered to change rooms for me. He helped me to move my luggage to the new room. There was no form of apology by any of the staff on the day itself when the incident happened. It was only on the next day when I requested for check-out transportation services to the railway station for the following day, where the staff who mainly tended to be apologised for the aircon leakage and offered complimentary transport services to the railway station.
I’ve stayed in many accomodations in Yunnan but this was the most disappointing stay thus far and I will definitely not be back again.
TTommytangwtWhat an unforgettable trip! It started with a thoughtful welcome from our butler, Frank Wang. The cleaning lady's sweet smile made every encounter a joy. The recommended restaurants were also perfect for us.
Facilities: A bit older, but well-maintained.
Hygiene: Banyan Tree's usual excellent standard!
Environment: This is Banyan Tree's highlight; truly a different beautiful view with every step. The combination of the snowy mountains and the architecture is breathtakingly beautiful!
Service: I'd like to commend our butler, Frank Wang, again for his attentive service. He even helped us bargain with roadside vendors. When we checked out, it was raining, and he helped us extend our check-out time. Everything was so timely and reassuring.
GGuest UserExtremely satisfied! The owner was incredibly kind and helpful. They proactively sent us local guides for nearby attractions and were always super accommodating. Their responses to messages were instant. When we casually mentioned needing a dressing table for makeup, they surprised us with a free room upgrade! On my birthday, they even gifted me a flower. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily. Overall, the experience was truly exceptional. The location is fantastic, being close to all the main attractions, and having plenty of food options right downstairs was incredibly convenient. I also really appreciated the bathroom's dry and wet separation.
