"The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it very convenient. The room environment was superb—spacious and very clean. The front desk service was also great; they proactively registered my airport transfer time and offered a wake-up call. The airport transfer service was incredibly convenient, getting me to the airport in about 10 minutes. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied. Highly recommend! 👍👍👍"

"The Four Points by Sheraton Kunming City Center is actually brand new, having just opened in May 2025. However, the building itself has a history, as it was previously the New Era Hotel, a landmark in downtown Kunming. After facing business difficulties and closing down, it was taken over and divided between Atour and Four Points by Sheraton. Four Points by Sheraton occupies the higher floors, with Atour taking the lower ones. Its location is truly in the heart of the city, bustling and vibrant, much like Beijing Road in Guangzhou. Large shopping malls like Kunming Department Store and Wangfujing are all nearby. The entire street is a lively pedestrian zone, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. You'll spot it easily when you enter from Nantong Street. Upon entering, the reception counter is to your right, and a spacious lobby lounge with sofas is to your left. It's a great spot to wait if, for example, your car hasn't arrived yet. After checking in, taking the elevator to the eighth floor brings you to the amenity level. This includes a well-equipped gym, a bar, and the breakfast area. The bar opens to the public in the evenings, with mostly sofa seating that's nicely partitioned for privacy and comfort. The drinks are also reasonably priced; a cocktail costs just 58 yuan. That evening, I had a whiskey sour, and for 58 yuan, it was perfectly acceptable. It's a good complementary feature for a hotel bar. Moving on to the room, you'll find complimentary welcome fruit on the table. To the left of the entrance is the bathroom, complete with a toilet and shower. The room itself is quite spacious with a long layout and a single king-size bed. At the far end, there's a very comfortable armchair with a high back, not a sofa, where you can sit and overlook Nanping Plaza, taking in the entire Kunming city center. Next to it is a desk directly facing the window, perfect for gazing out when you need a break. This entire hotel is a renovated property, with comprehensive and well-appointed public facilities, contributing to a more comfortable stay. When I booked my room on Ctrip, I noticed it was listed as a five-star hotel. However, in my understanding, a hotel without a swimming pool is typically considered four-star. Still, you can usually book a room here for around 400-500 yuan. Overall, the hotel's location is truly excellent. The advantage of being downtown is convenience for everything, but the biggest drawback is potential traffic congestion. For tourists, however, this place is unbeatable. The pedestrian street right below offers evening strolls, snacks, and easy access to various attractions."

"The price is affordable and the service is great. The lady at the front desk was super helpful. We arrived quite late, and even though the dining hall was closed, she still gave us breakfast vouchers and complimentary flower-pastries as a welcome gift (even though we couldn't wake up for breakfast, the gesture was really thoughtful). The room has smart appliances, and the toilet and shower are separate, which is very convenient. The free shuttle service is also a huge plus. Highly recommend!"

"Overall an amazing experience, I’d definitely comeback again and recommend to my friends. Young staffs were very friendly and helpful since we arrived, good location and pillows are the most comfy ever. Breakfast has a wide variety of selection. City center surrounded by restaurants and easy accesible by Didi or taxi. Night time they offer free snacks at the restaurant and also reception of Taobao courier. 10/10!"

However, all other facilities and the overall environment were excellent, with a high level of smart technology. Plus, there's a lovely terrace on the second floor."

This makes it incredibly convenient for a morning walk or an evening stroll. The location is simply unbeatable. Despite its age, the hotel is exceptionally well-maintained, lacking any sense of being old-fashioned or gloomy. Both the public areas and rooms are spotlessly clean and tidy, with an air of sophistication evident throughout. The service was a delightful surprise; from check-in to handling daily requests, everything was handled with exceptional thoughtfulness. The staff were warm, professional, and their attention to detail truly showed they cared. The rooms are tastefully decorated, not with flashy designs, but with a refined and understated elegance. Paired with high-quality amenities, the overall atmosphere was both comfortable and cozy, making for a truly relaxing stay. I would certainly choose to stay here again on my next trip to Kunming."

"For this price, location, and the pickup/drop-off service, it's an absolute steal! I'd seen reviews mentioning dirty floors, but I was pleasantly surprised upon entering the room – the facilities, furnishings, and decor were all brand new. The only minor issues were that the sliding wooden door to the suite was restricted and wouldn't close completely, and a couple of light switches were a bit faulty. Everything else was perfect. It would be even more convenient if the other independent restroom in the suite had a showerhead installed."

"The hotel was very clean, and the breakfast was amazing, especially the pastries – they lived up to their reputation and left me wanting more! The hotel is super close to Cuihu Park, and the Military Academy and Yunnan Provincial Museum are right downstairs. On Qianju Road, there are two must-try spots next to each other that always have lines: the Douhua Rice Noodles and the Meigancai Shaobing (preserved vegetable pastry) – you'll need to go early! BA Bakery, across from the south gate of Cuihu Park, also has a queue. All in all, the location is unbeatable, making it convenient to visit any of the historical and cultural attractions nearby. You absolutely have to go to Yunnan University; if you can't book online, you can just go to the south gate and swipe your ID to get in!"
