"When I booked, I specifically requested a quiet room, but the location they gave us was simply unbelievable. The room service staff were very good, I'll give them that, but it was so noisy. The soundproofing is truly terrible. I'm not talking about airplanes flying overhead; it's the constant noise from the hallway that's too loud, like a sports meet is happening right outside! It was supposed to be a family room, but there was no kids' club access, no app, and no screen mirroring! The bed was indeed comfortable, but what's going on with the air conditioning? When we first arrived, it was set to cool, but in the middle of the night, we woke up sweating because it was blowing hot air? Did you randomly adjust it for us? We couldn't even control it ourselves. The smart assistant just kept saying 'I'm here' but couldn't adjust the AC or open the curtains! Is this really a smart room? Only the cleanliness and bed comfort were somewhat satisfactory. The BBQ downstairs was both expensive and terrible!"

"My partner and I came to Yunnan for our honeymoon during the off-peak season. The front desk lady added me on WeChat beforehand to ask about our preferences and any special requirements. The concierge even thoughtfully sent us directions to the hotel. I have to say, Kunming really has so much delicious food! It's our first time here, and it feels like we could spend several days just exploring this area.
**Facilities:** The overall furnishings are quite tasteful. Although the decor and history of this place feel quite dated, you can tell a lot of effort went into it. All the furniture is made of rosewood, and it's clear that the design of the pavilions, terraces, and soft furnishings perfectly aligns with Chinese aesthetics. It's truly beautiful, as if every scene was specifically designed by a professional.
There's a really, really large executive lounge that's perfect for photos – it feels more like an upscale business club. It's also great for families and friends! Every single staff member's service was truly exceptional. They enthusiastically greeted us every time they saw us 😄 It was a very, very satisfying experience! "

"Quite near to the Kunming Railway Station. The place is easily accessible with lots of restaurants outside. There’s pharmacy, a grocery, china post office and bank closeby. The room is spacious enough for my luggage, it was also clean. I stayed for 2 days and the lady came to clean daily without me asking for a clean. Service wise, they’re ok - i communicated with the reception using translator as i speak english. the reception was also able to accept my taobao parcels for me. I had a good stay. Thanks again!"

"One thing about booking hotels in China is that you can't usually find the name of the accommodation in English and on Google maps. And that was the main reason for choosing an international brand like Ibis (although the location on Google maps is slightly off.
Location is perfect. Near to the main walking street, and just minutes away from subway station. It is about 20-30 minutes walk from Green Lake park if you prefer to be staying near there. But the park is nothing special.
Room is comfortable, and like all hotels in China, very reasonable for the price. But I find the pillows too soft.
Shower is strong and separated from the toilet. They even have a Japanese-style toilet 😄
Breakfast is ok only.
Staff was very helpful and accommodating."

"No joke, this is an amazing hostel! The location is super convenient, right by the subway exit – just a 3-5 minute downhill walk. Step out of the hostel, cross the road, and go down some stairs, and you're right at Cuihu Park. If you walk in the opposite direction, it's about a ten-minute stroll to Zhengyi Road. They have both Western and squat toilets in the restrooms, and there are plenty of showers. The customer service was also fantastic!"

"The staff here are incredibly welcoming and helpful! They were super friendly and always ready to answer questions or solve any issues we had. I originally booked a standard room for my one-night stay, specifically requesting a clean, non-smoking room. To my surprise, they upgraded me for free! 🥰 The room was huge, beautiful, and spotless, with absolutely no smoke smell, which was a huge plus. There were three distinct seating areas: a desk for working, a two-seater area with a wall-side sofa perfect for takeout, and a comfy lounge chair on the other side, great for watching movies on the projector 🎞️. The bathroom was also sparkling clean (a germaphobe like me was thrilled!). They even provided disposable toilet seat covers, which was a nice touch. You could tell the toiletries were of high quality; my boyfriend even commented on the shiny packaging and how the toothbrush wasn't stiff and cheap like some hotel amenities (he said, 'Chinese products are really good!' 😂). "This hotel truly exceeded my expectations! The location is excellent, with convenient transportation nearby, making it very easy to get around. The front desk and staff were all incredibly warm and attentive. On the day we checked in, my child accidentally dirtied the bedsheets, and even though housekeeping had already finished for the day, the front desk thoughtfully helped us change them right away, handling it very promptly and without any sign of impatience. We felt so comfortable and at ease during our stay. We will definitely choose this hotel again next time!"

We also received complimentary welcome fruit, and there's an airport shuttle service. Plus, there's a great local market nearby with lots of delicious food. I'll definitely book this place again next time I'm at Kunming Airport.

BBlueSkyPerthExcellent 5-diamond hotel in the best location for holiday in Kunming. Easily our favourite hotel on our trip to Yunnan. Nanping Pedestrian Street and Shuncheng Shopping Centre are less than 5 minutes walk away. Kunming Old Street is not too far away either.
Our room was spacious, modern, clean and nicely decorated. Nice view from the windows. No smoke smell. The bathroom, vanity area and toilets were thoughtfully designed. There was even a portable clothes steamer in our room. Little details that made our stay more comfortable.
The were plenty of washing machines and dryers that were free for us to use. We didn’t even need to wait around for clothes to finish washing. The helpful staff there would help us transfer our washed clothes into the dryer. We just had to provide our room number, and the staff would keep the dried clothes into laundry bags for us to collect later. Best laundry service in any hotel in the world!
The breakfast buffet offered lots of choices.

They even have robots that can deliver takeout, which is pretty smart. Now, where do I begin, first of? if you sre arriving at this place via didi or taxi straight from the airport, do yourself a favour and get dropped off outside and walk to the entrance of the ”hotel”. If you get dropped off inside the underground parking lot, Goodluck to your driver finding the spot to drop you off that connects to the hotels' elevator (its a maze and once u get there, it looks sketchy but its alright).
Now, for the location: the location is superb! You're legit right beside a large mall with Tonssssss of restaurants to eat at even late at night! It is simply very convenient. And if you dont mind walking, there's another mall down south thats about 15mins walk. Lots of things to do.
The lobby, the receptionist were kind and warm. They provided water whenever asked and didn't hesitate to help where they could. The free tea upfront, although we didn't fully utilize, was a nice touch.
Now for the room: we selected the largest room they had which had 3 bedrooms. The price? It was insanely good. Almost unheard of. It was between 50-70 Canadian during the time of booking. I couldn't believe it.
But not all hotels are perfect, and i have to say some of the things i experienced could definitely be improved.
The restroom area had some scent to it that I couldn't point out as to what the smell is. I had to leave the exhaust fan on to ensure a neutral atmosphere. It worked fyi.
The living room: is huge but tell me how there's only a 2-3 people sofa available and one small chair and a table. Its a wasted space. It ought to offer a large lounging furniture at this kind of room. It felt bare.
The windows: simply put, although they installed windows capable of sound deadening, the weather stripping and the latch simply doesnt bond the gaps efficiently. Meaning, coldness of the night still finds its way. Luckily, the hvac system works and the curtains are relatively thick and also automatic (adjust at will).
The beds are ultra clean and the floors were relatively spotless.
But there's honestly one thing that is have to think about if I ever decide to rebook. I personally don't smoke, and i requested for a deodorizing treatment for our room prior to coming. The room itself? It didn't smell like cigarettes which was awesome, but here's something I don't see bring possible to address: at night time, while I lay down and sleep, there is a smell of people smoking cigarettes whose odour is somehow able to travel through the air ducts. Like each and every night, it was the same ordeal. My son didn't say anything, my parents inlaw didn't say anything, but my wife and I, yeah we smelled it.
It isnt like as if you're beside someone smoking cigarettes, but its more like a scent that goes along with the air in the room that suggest someone had smoked, just unsure when.
Other than that, sure, the beds, pillows and comforters were all clean and comfy.
Honestly, my family was OK with the room. The convenience and price is really really hard to beat. Like it is extremely beyond belief affordable. Perhaps id reconsider staying here again if we were in kunming. We'll see.

WWELLCzThis is a well-established five-star hotel in the area, once famous as Kunming's tallest building. During my holiday travels, I passed through Kunming and was deciding between a hotel in a scenic area and the Grand Park Hotel. Considering the potential noise in the scenic area, I chose the latter, and I'm so glad I made that smart decision.
The front desk staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and thoughtful. We had a lot of luggage, and we were fortunate enough to get an upgrade to a corner suite, which completely alleviated our concerns about space.
Both the public areas and the rooms are decorated in a simple yet elegant and stylish manner. The materials used are solid, and the maintenance is impeccable, so it doesn't feel old at all. It truly lives up to its five-star rating.
The room offered expansive views, excellent soundproofing, and was spotlessly clean. The bedding was comfortable and soft against the skin, and the hot water supply was quick and abundant. Coming back after a day of sightseeing and enjoying a relaxing bath in the tub was just perfect.
The location is right next to a subway station, with a direct one-stop ride to the high-speed rail. To the north, it's just one transfer to the Wuyi Road scenic area and commercial district, and to the east, one transfer to the airport. Taxis are also very convenient.
The hotel's facilities are comprehensive. My trip was rushed this time, so I didn't have a chance to experience the pool or other amenities. If I get the opportunity to visit Kunming again, I will definitely choose Grand Park Hotel!

GGuest UserVisited Kunming with the kids during the May Day holiday and chose the Shangri-La Jen Hotel, which has a great location. The room was a bit small, but perfectly adequate. The pool and gym facilities were quite good. Remy, Sally, and Grace at the front desk all provided excellent service. The breakfast was delicious, and the Chinese restaurant was also very good. Even though the weather in Kunming was a bit chilly this time, we definitely felt the hotel's warm service!
