Find 4-Star Hotels in Kunming

The hotel is very close to the train station, just a few hundred meters walk from the exit, which is super convenient. There's a rice noodle shop downstairs, and a Yunnan restaurant called Lao Dian just over a hundred meters to the right. The hotel is newly opened, so the facilities are brand new and the decor is lovely. The front desk staff were really warm and attentive. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

I specifically took time off to stay at this wellness hotel, and as soon as I walked in, the soothing scent of herbs and wood instantly calmed my frayed nerves. The overall decor is minimalist and zen-like, and the common areas are quiet and elegant. The hotel offers various wellness programs like yoga, meditation, and head therapy. The package includes free access to these activities, and there's no hard-selling involved. The soundproofing in the room is excellent, and the bedding is soft; it was completely quiet and peaceful at night. The staff spoke softly and gently, providing thoughtful and detailed service throughout my stay. Here, you don't have to rush through an itinerary; you can just unwind. All the stress from my week of work just melted away. It's truly perfect for a relaxing and restorative getaway.

This hotel was a stopover for my return flight from Kunming the next day. I originally planned to book a different hotel, but I saw the good reviews and decided to go with this one for its value for money. It was indeed a good choice. It's newly renovated, and the facilities are very new, not inferior to other hotels. It's quite noisy near the airport at night, and the neighbors were also loud, but they provided earplugs, which was great. For breakfast, there were four stir-fried dishes. The dining area was small and very cramped. Lower-priced hotels tend to attract guests who hog seats and grab food... Finally, this was the only hotel that didn't call me before check-in, and I thought that was that. But after checking out, they called me for a good review... The environment is decent, but the service doesn't quite measure up and can't compare to other hotels.

Some aspects of my stay were excellent but a few things were terrible.  I will mention the good things first.  The room was large, beautiful and gave a beautiful view of the sunset.  The bathroom was superb indeed and the bathroom amenities were superior as was the shower, toilet and everything associated with the bathroom.   The problems were as follow:  There was no dining facilities in the hotel  to eat dinner and I was very hungry after traveling 12 hours by train from Shanghai.  I had to walk very far to get to the area that has restaurants  and  food kiosks.  When I returned to the hotel with some food that needed refrigeration, I discovered the refrigerator  in my room was not working.  I called for service and the worker who came to check said  the refrigerator was broken and could not be replaced.  this was a big problem since I needed to refrigerate the only food I had purchased.  Finally, another staff came to my room and discovered the refrigerator was in fact , not broken.  It was not plugged in properly so that problem was finally resolved after a very long time.  The worst thing  was the bed.  It was so hard, it was painful to lay down on it and impossible to sleep on it.  I called the desk for help and they told me that they did not have a softer mattress to give me.  The mattress was as hard as concrete and I was desperate to sleep.  A staff member came up with a suitable solution.  She brought several duvets and covered the hard mattress with them--placing them one on top of another until I was finally able to lay down on the bed without experiencing pain.  It was very late in the middle of the night before I was finally able to lay down on the bed and go to sleep.   In summary, the room itself was excellent and the bathroom was superior.  Unfortunately, the mattress was entirely unacceptable and impossible to sleep upon.  It was also very disappointing that the worker did not know how to. get the refrigerator to work properly but his superior knew immediately what the problem was.  Much time was wasted until she resolved the problem.  The worker should have been more knowledgeable  and competent. 

Another cute, hidden gem. Tucked away in Nanping Pedestrian Street, so they come out to meet you after taxi drops you off and help you and your luggage in. I had booked this as a surprise ending to our 5th Anniversary, 30 days through China trip. They did a wonderful job specializing the room. The bed art was so cute that we joked about leaving it and sleeping on the sofa! The only thing missing is a mini fridge. Everything else in the room was just perfect. More than enough room for 2 people. Easy walking distance to food and shopping. In fact, across the street there is a huge shopping complex with many malls. The front desk staff did a wonderful job of trying to help us. One of the wheels on our suitcase broke on the way. He first called around to find a repair shop. Then called a luggage vendor in the mall to see if anyone could help. This was another location that had a beautiful rooftop location where we could sit, play cards, enjoy the night lights while doing our laundry. Unfortunately, we only spent 1 night here, but we would return again to do more exploring.

Due to frequent business trips to and from Kunming Station, this Hampton by Hilton is a perfect balance of value and quality. The lobby has a temporary co-working space with fast and stable Wi-Fi, making email and video calls a breeze. The in-room desk is spacious, the lighting is eye-friendly, and the power outlets are conveniently placed, which is great for remote work. The laundry room comes with a dryer, solving the problem of washing and drying clothes while traveling. Breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, accommodating early high-speed train departures and morning meetings. The check-out and invoicing process is smooth, and Sunny at the front desk always remembers my preferences. This feeling of being valued makes business trips much less tiring. Business travelers can book with confidence.

I highly recommend Hilton Garden Inn to pet parents traveling with their furry friends. I stayed at two Hilton Garden Inn locations during this trip: Kunming Panlong and Dali Erhai. 1. The hotel's location is convenient for walking and potty breaks for dogs. Kunming Panlong has a small green space nearby, and Dali Erhai is right across the street from Erhaiyue Wetland Park, where there are plenty of other dogs to play with. Both hotels are in central locations, making them a moderate distance from various city attractions. 2. The rooms are designed like short-term apartments, offering enough space for medium to large dogs to move around and play simple games. There's also a good variety of room types, making it easy for families to arrange their stay. 3. The staff is incredibly pet-friendly. They prepared toy and treat gifts for our dog, and our dog absolutely loved the big radish and small radish toys! 4. For dogs who eat fresh food, both hotels are located near places where you can buy fresh vegetables and meat. You can also borrow a rice cooker from the hotel to cook the food for your dog. The large refrigerator in the room also allows for storing plenty of ingredients and any medications that need refrigeration. 5. The one-time cleaning fee of 200 RMB is reasonable, and there's also convenient parking available, which is a big plus for those who drive themselves. 👍

Overall, it was genuinely great. I stayed here with my parents and child, and the beds were quite large. The breakfast was plentiful; though I didn't get to try it, my parents did and they were very happy, which made me happy too. The front desk staff was excellent. When my child wasn't feeling well, they told us which hospital to go to, and all our questions and issues were communicated and resolved promptly. The hotel also has a laundry room. It was a pleasant stay, and the location was convenient for getting everywhere. Really good!

The location is incredibly convenient! It's just a 20-minute drive to the airport, and you can walk to MixC Shopping Mall and Donghua Farmers Market. Getting to Old Street takes only about 10 minutes by taxi, making it super easy to get around and explore. The room was spotless, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The soundproofing was much better than I expected. The staff were all so friendly and polite, always quick to help with any issues. The breakfast spread was also excellent, and the rice noodles were delicious. My stay was absolutely perfect!

I chose the airport transfer service, which was very convenient and saved a lot of effort. After arriving at Kunming Airport, I waited at the sign by Gate 8 on the B1 departure level. Shuttles depart at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour, and it takes about 10 minutes to reach the hotel. When checking in, I informed them of my flight time for the next day, and the front desk noted it down for the shuttle to the airport. The room was a comfort type, and it was quite comfortable for a one-night stay. The minibar had a good variety of tea bags, coffee, and other items. However, the faucet for adjusting water temperature in the bathroom wasn't very user-friendly; the water was either too cold or too hot, and I couldn't get it to the ideal temperature. The toilet had an automatic flush, but it was a bit delayed, always flushing unexpectedly. The biggest pleasant surprise was their breakfast. It started serving at 5:30 AM, which is very convenient for passengers with early flights. The variety was excellent for a hotel of this price. Next time I have an early flight, I'll definitely stay here again!
