"The lady at the front desk was incredibly enthusiastic, helping with luggage, offering a Hada scarf, and always ready to assist! The hotel always has Rhodiola rosea tea available, and you can take a pot to your room to drink whenever you like. The diffused oxygen supply also works exceptionally well – it's not one of those flimsy oxygen machines. The hotel breakfast is quite good too; while it can't compare to a branded star hotel, it has all the essentials, with a slight emphasis on Chinese-style dishes like tsampa, ******* noodles, sweet tea, yak butter tea, fruits, yogurt, and rice noodles, among others. Overall, I highly recommend it; it offers great value for money, and there's even a complimentary Mercedes shuttle to nearby attractions! The cafe next to the front desk, where you can grab light meals, is also excellent!"

"Service: The lady at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. We had booked a twin room, but she proactively upgraded us to a family suite! The room was spacious and decorated with unique ethnic characteristics. Facilities: The facilities are comprehensive, even including a medical oxygen concentrator! They also provide nasal cannulas. Everything you could possibly need is available. Environment: Excellent, and the soundproofing is good! There's also a Nepalese restaurant on the top floor of the hotel that many locals frequent, and hotel guests even get a discount! The hotel's location is also superb; it's only about a ten-minute walk to Jokhang Temple (at a leisurely pace, typical for Lhasa) and very close to the bus stop. There's also a delicious cold noodle shop right next to the hotel downstairs! I would definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Lhasa!"

"This time I went to Lhasa and checked almost all the scattered oxygen supply hotels near Yutuo Road. I finally chose the Potala Palace Yixuan Hotel. The stay experience far exceeded expectations! The hotel is in a great location, about 5 minutes walk to the Potala Palace Square, and very close to Barkhor Street and Jokhang Temple. The hotel is very new and quiet, the rooms are spacious and bright, clean and hygienic, the facilities are very complete, there is free dispersion oxygen supply and humidifier, the bathroom is separated from wet and dry, the heating smart toilet, and the disposable supplies are fully equipped. There is free bottled mineral water at the elevator entrance. One thing to mention in particular, when checking in, there is also a highland VIP courtesy of Hada. The beautiful Tibetan girl at the front desk is very warm and polite. We upgraded the big bed outside window room for free. We also intimately helped the suitcase to the room and helped open the diffuse oxygen supply. And arranged for someone to send the nose tube, originally after getting off the plane, I felt a little high reaction, after more than an hour of oxygen, I felt full of vitality, that afternoon I went to the Potala Palace, I was worried that the high reaction arranged to go the next day. It is very quiet at night, sleeps very soundly, and diffuse oxygen supply from 2 pm to 8 am the next morning. The sixth floor of the hotel is one of the great places to see the Potala Palace. You can also lie down and enjoy the sun and have a cup of coffee. In general, the stay experience is superb, next time I come to Lhasa, I will choose to stay at Yixuan Hotel, thank you for giving us a warm experience. Five-star praise!"

"The room feels good, but a little small. It's a diffused oxygen room. Help! Haha. The service of the girl at the front desk is very good. The milk tea they make themselves is also very good. It can relieve altitude sickness. Drink more. The location is convenient. The Potala Palace and the square are on the left, and the Jokhang Temple on Barkhor Street is on the right. The Nama Sedeni restaurant nearby is also good. You can go and experience it. There is a parking lot in the basement, and parking is free. The breakfast is just average and needs to be improved. Overall it is very good, Atour is worthy of trust."

"Honestly, this trip to Tibet was made so much better because of this hotel. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming, immediately taking all our luggage. Then came the sweet tea and ceremonial Hada scarves. Our bags were delivered to our room, and they helped with everything, even bringing fruit and thoughtful red bean soup. In the evenings, there were various ******* cultural experiences. The accommodation itself was excellent, with ample oxygen and heating. I slept soundly with the oxygen on at night. The restaurant also had a great ambiance. I'm extremely satisfied with this hotel stay and highly recommend everyone to try it out!"

"Staying in Lhasa's 400-year-old 'Living Fossil'! The Gurkha Hotel is absolutely brilliant! ✨ Seriously, you guys! I stayed at a hotel in Lhasa where you can literally 'touch history.' It instantly transformed my Tibet trip from mere 'sightseeing' into a truly immersive experience. This blogger is officially obsessed and wholeheartedly recommends it! 🏨 First off, the location is absolutely tailor-made for an in-depth exploration—right in the heart of the Barkhor Street kora route, just a 3-minute walk to Jokhang Temple! In the early morning, you can follow the elderly faithful along the cobblestone paths during their kora. In the evening, after browsing the shops on Barkhor Street, you can simply turn around and step right into this Tibetan-style courtyard. The sheer bliss of not having to rush back is something only those who stay here will truly understand! 🙌🏻 🌅 But what truly makes it special is its 'heritage'! Once the Nepalese Consulate, this 400-year-old building still bears the marks of time: ******* carvings on the wooden beams, prayer wheels in the courtyard, prayer flags hanging from the eaves. Even the angle at which the sunlight hits the stone paths feels like a replication of old times. Sipping a coffee in the incredibly atmospheric courtyard, your fingertips tracing the warm cup, the aroma of coffee mingling with the serene tranquility of Tibet—time itself seems to slow down. ☕️~ ⚠️ And here’s the highlight: the check-in perks that truly elevate the '******* cultural experience' to the max: 1️⃣ Free ******* clothing rental! Wearing it to stroll Barkhor Street, passersby actually thought I was a local, and my photos felt incredibly authentic and immersive!~ 2️⃣ The hotel offers 10 complimentary courtyard travel photoshoots. They have their own photography studio, and the photographers are experts at capturing the light and shadows of the ancient architecture. No need to find angles yourself; effortlessly capture those 'timeless' and 'epic' shots! 3️⃣ The room comes with a special high-altitude care package! Face masks, conditioner, essential oil makeup remover—all provided. They understand the challenges of high-altitude dryness and our thoughtful skincare needs.~ 4️⃣ Free admission to the Gesar Japo Museum! Listen to staff share stories of the consulate from 400 years ago, then enjoy a complimentary sweet tea. You'll instantly grasp the 'romance of old Lhasa'! What's even more surprising is how modern comforts are seamlessly integrated within this ancient structure! Rooms are equipped with oxygen facilities, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep even at high altitude. The rooftop cafe offers stunning night views of the Potala Palace. A latte enjoyed with that ancient building view? Pure bliss! The breakfast's ******* noodles and tsampa (a traditional ******* staple food) are incredibly authentic! And the service? Absolutely impeccable! The front desk staff offer traditional Hada scarves and sweet tea, and the security guards help with luggage, showing incredible care, just like family! Coming to Lhasa and want to stay comfortably while deeply experiencing ******* culture? Look no further! Staying here isn't just about a night's rest; it's about creating a ******* story that will forever be etched in your memory.~ 📍 Location: No. 45 Linkuo South Road, Chengguan District, Lhasa"

HhohotimVery satisfied with everything, the best is the customer service, always answer all questions. Buy an oxygen tube for RMB 10/piece, and you can arrange an oxygen machine at the lobby bar to provide free oxygen. There were sanitary defects, cigarette butts were found, we don't smoke as a family, but it was acceptable, the sprinkler pipe leaked, and the water pressure increased after cleaning. Everything was cured by the warm customer service.

GGuest UserThe room is very clean and hygienic. The breakfast is good, with rich variety and spacious environment. The bedding is very comfortable, clean and has no smell of smoke. Oxygen is available 24 hours in the lobby, and hot drinks are welcome - Rhodiola in the lobby: I have not experienced these two. Coke and Wanglaoji are free in the room. It is worth noting that not all rooms have oxygen, and you need to book a ”room supply” room. The hotel restaurant is also OK. The portion is large and the taste is good, suitable for those who don't want to walk out.

YYizepingguoThe location is excellent, right opposite the Tibet Museum, just a 5-minute walk away. Parking at the hotel is very convenient; during the off-season, you can park directly in front of the lobby without even going down to the underground garage. The front desk staff was very professional in helping us check in and thoughtfully reminded us to rest on our first day at high altitude. The room has a traditional and warm ******* decor. When visiting Tibet in the off-season (December), it's essential to stay in a warm hotel to alleviate the discomfort of high altitude. Even in Tibet, Shangri-La's breakfast maintains its usual high standard. Be sure to try the tsampa and homemade yogurt. We also happened to meet Kent, who is in charge of the restaurant, and he provided excellent service and recommended some itineraries for exploring Tibet.

AAilvxingdexiaxiaojieWhen I first arrived in Lhasa, I stayed at Jicai, primarily because of its cleanliness and its proximity to the Potala Palace and Barkhor Street. My experience after checking in was excellent. After my trip to Nyingchi and Mêdog, I booked Jicai again. If you experience altitude sickness, the lobby provides an oxygen concentrator, and the rooms even have diffused oxygen supply. I had wanted to try breakfast in Lhasa, so on my last day, I bought the hotel's breakfast and discovered their noodles (fen) are really good. I regretted not booking a room with breakfast included. If you're still debating whether to book breakfast, my advice is to go for it if you like sour and spicy noodles, because their breakfast noodles are delicious. Delicious, delicious! Front desk service was good, and honestly, Jicai offers great value for money. Highly recommended.

Ssunny1029Borrowing my mother's account to comment ~ It can be said that the trip to Lhasa was to check in Songzan. The expectations were high before departure, but I didn't expect that I would still be amazed by the beauty here. The housekeeper Luosang called to inquire about the arrival time before checking in, and he was already waiting at the door to greet us warmly when he arrived at the hotel. Lhasa in winter is more prone to altitude sickness than in summer. The housekeeper first took us to rest in the hotel lobby and tasted the special highland barley milk cakes and sweet tea, which was as warm as welcoming his friends to visit his home. The battery car arrived directly at the guest room, and the door was opened with an ancient key. The ******* fragrance came out. The ******* decoration style is unique and elegant. The sunlight filled the living room through the ******* window. Language cannot describe this warm feeling. Every Songzan person I met in the hotel is sincere and lovely. They really treat us as guests from afar, allowing us to have a more comfortable stay. Breakfast is on the second floor, and you can overlook the Potala Palace. It's a pity that the Western restaurant on the third floor is closed recently. For dinner, I chose the ******* restaurant on the second floor. The dishes are very good. The restaurants are very quiet and the atmosphere is very good. There is also a boutique next to the hotel lobby. The scarves from Nole and the carpets from Kavajian are worth buying. I really don't want to leave. I will bring my family here again if I have the chance.

LLvlingfan007The room was spotless, and the view of the Potala Palace from here was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is perfectly situated right behind and to the right of the Potala Palace, making my windowsill my 'personal viewing platform': At midday, wisps of clouds drifted across its white walls and golden roofs, as if a breathing quilt was draped over the ancient palace; In the evening, the setting sun painted the Red Palace a honeyed hue, and as prayer flags fluttered in the wind, they seemed like countless hands applauding it; The moment the night lights came on, the entire palace suddenly 'came alive' – like an ancient ship moored in the darkness, carrying the stories of the Tubo Dynasty, slowly sailing towards the myriad lights of modern Lhasa. The complimentary biscuits were delicious, and the other snacks were great too! The butler and front desk service were warm and attentive. I arrived close to 2 PM, having not yet eaten, and the small eatery they recommended – the third shop after turning right from the hotel – was absolutely delightful.

__WeChat33316****Our room was upgraded to a family room, room 327. To be honest, the hotel is located quite deep in an alley, about a 500-meter walk from the main road... All the room windows are single-paned and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years... The towels and bath towels were all dated 2023 and weren't very soft anymore. We booked through Ctrip, which helped with the room upgrade and included complimentary breakfast. Don't expect too much from this hotel; it's quite different from a Holiday Inn Express on the mainland. The breakfast was just passable, nothing to write home about. After all those downsides, let's talk about the positives: it's incredibly cheap. Booked on Ctrip during the off-peak season (August 31st - September 3rd), and with a Lhasa culture and tourism subsidy voucher, it came down to about 160 RMB per night. Secondly, you need a key card to access the floors, which makes it quiet and secure. If you're traveling independently and plan to be out sightseeing daily, the location is a bit far. It's about 2.5 km to Potala Palace (15 RMB by taxi) and roughly 3.5 km to Jokhang Temple. Lhasa's cost of living is much higher than Chengdu's. You'll notice it significantly in taxi fares and dining expenses. This was my first visit, and I didn't experience altitude sickness. I found it truly beautiful. Here are a few recommendations: 🚩FYI: I didn't take Rhodiola before entering Tibet and didn't experience altitude sickness upon landing. The hotel I stayed at upon arrival didn't provide oxygen, and I didn't even buy an oxygen tank, yet I adapted just fine. So, flying into Tibet is the most relaxed way. Traveling by train or self-driving is exhausting, and you're just as likely to get altitude sickness anyway. 🔹Attractions: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Ramoche Temple, Sera Monastery, Tibet Museum, Princess Wencheng Show, Chakpori Hill viewpoint, Barkhor Street... I recommend exploring at your own pace, taking it easy... stopping frequently and avoiding strenuous exercise. 🔸Food: Sichuan cuisine dominates. Aside from those speaking *******, everyone else speaks Sichuan dialect. Goods are not easy to transport in, so prices are comparable to first-tier cities. The air is dry and UV radiation is incredibly strong... I didn't get a tan all summer, but two days here turned me completely dark! [laughing emoji] If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! 🙋‍♀️🙋

GGuest UserThe hotel isn't to far from the Portola Palace (a short taxi trip). I wouldn't say its a true 4 star hotel. The room was a good size, quiet and didn't smell of cigarette smoke. The room was a little worn out; I couldn't get the TV to work, the mirror on the wet bar area was cracked, there were marks to the walls where paintings/pictures had once been. Most annoying was the shower cubicle and the shower over the bath had only cold water! On my last morning the power was off in my area of the hotel and the lift was not working due to the power outage. The hotel staff do not speak English, but one lady working on reception was especially nice and helpful and we were able to communicate by using the translation app. There are lots of restaurants near by, but next time I think I'd prefer to stay closer to the Portola Palace.
