"Arriving late at night in winter and being able to go straight to the hotel from the airport without stepping outside was incredibly convenient. It saved us from having to pack an extra set of clothes (which for a family of four is a lot! đ). The other facilities were also great, meeting both the price and our expectations. A pleasant surprise was the wide variety of delivery food available, and the taste was super good! I'll definitely keep choosing this place in the future.
Here's a tip: If you've got a car parked at the hotel, don't be shy â just drive slowly towards the main gate and it will open automatically. đ
One thing to note is that the underfloor heating is incredibly warm, very warm... Even among all the places we stayed during our two-week trip with central heating, theirs was the hottest. This made the air really dry. The humidifier provided was quite mini, so I'd suggest upgrading it. For someone from the south, this kind of dry heat is really hard to get used to. đ Lacking self-help solutions for this only adds to the hassle for both guests and staff. I truly hope the tourism industry in Xinjiang continues to thrive!"

"My friend and I stayed at the Tianyuan Hangyou Hotel during a layover in Urumqi, and it was the perfect choice for a short stay near the airport. The location is extremely convenient - just ~15 minutes away from the terminal, which made our transit hassle-free. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the airport, which was a great advantage.
Though the hotel could use minor renovations, the price-to-quality ratio is excellent. The room had all the essentials: slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, a comb, a hairdryer, an electric kettle, cups, and bottled water. The Wi-Fi worked well, which was important for us to plan our day trip and order a taxi.
One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety of options. Even if you're not yet accustomed to Chinese cuisine, you can find simple choices like boiled eggs and mantou (steamed buns).
For sightseeing, the city center and main attractions (such as the Xinjiang Museum, Red Hill Park, the Grand Bazaar, and the mosque) are about 30 minutes away by taxi. We managed to explore all of them in a day. Nearby, there are also local markets, convenience stores, and small cafĂŠs for snacks and essentials.
Overall, if you need a comfortable, budget-friendly hotel close to Urumqi Airport with good service and decent amenities, Tianyuan Hangyou Hotel is a great option. Highly recommended for transit travelers!"

"The hotel is located right inside the airport. It's just a few minutes' walk from the transportation hub, following the signs, without even having to leave the airport building. The room was spacious, and the bedding was clean and odorless. Noise levels were also very low. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside is that there's no convenient way to return your room card outside the room itself; you have to go all the way down to the lobby on the first floor to return it, then go back upstairs to the skybridge connecting the hotel to the terminal."

"An excellent stay! First off, I have to praise the cleanlinessâthe room was spotless, and the bedding was fresh and tidy, which made me feel incredibly comfortable. The service was impeccable, too; everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeping aunties was warm, polite, and very quick to respond. The breakfast had a great variety, including local specialties and freshly made noodles and wontons. You can see the high-speed train station nearby, just a few hundred meters away, and despite the new buildings in the area, it was surprisingly quiet, so I slept really well. "After a tour of Xinjiang, I returned to Urumqi and chose to stay at the Grand Mercure Hualing Hotel. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, with its own dedicated parking, which was very convenient. The lobby has a beautiful and grand Western Regions style. The room had an excellent view and was clean and tidy. The biggest surprise was being upgraded to a room with a bathtub â after a long journey, I could finally enjoy a nice hot soak, which was incredibly comfortable. The front desk had already prepared the room key in advance, and the service was very thoughtful. The location is truly prime, as it's directly opposite Red Hill Pagoda, the city's central landmark. As night falls, you can simply pull back the curtains and overlook the entire city's night view. Wally, the manager in the lobby, even personally delivered some small snacks. Overall, it was great. The value for money is exceptionally high, especially the huge parking lot, which is very friendly for self-driving travelers."

Our favorite part was the breakfast buffet every morning! It was incredibly rich and offered a great variety. The new hotel's location is also fantastic, making it convenient for getting around. It's right next to CC Mall, so you can walk there directly. Plus, our room was set back from the main road, ensuring a quiet night's sleep. They even provided fresh fruit during our stay! Thank you! Flora isn't a perfect hotel â it had power outages, stuffiness, and soundproofing issues. However, its location, price, and decor style are truly a rare find in Urumqi city center.
In March during the off-season, two nights with a free room upgrade, I was very satisfied. I would choose it again next time, just remember to bring a short-sleeved shirt đ

AAussie NikThis hotel is top quality. Worthy of 5 star standard. Just built in 2024, everything was brand new. Front desk receptionists were all so professional and hospitable. We felt so at home and comfortable that we stayed for 6nights. We were offered an abundant breakfast, evening tea and late supper. We had 70 inch tv with movie channels. There is a complementary laundry room. The Japanese style toilet was a bonus. Bus stop is across the road. Walking distance to Hong Shan Park, Peoples Park, Xinjiang Museum and Saybad Shopping district. Highly recommend any visitors to Urumqi to this wonderful hotel.

BBlade.around.the.worldAfter a pleasant stay at the Green Tree Eastern in Kashgar, I decided to try the Green Tree Eastern in Urumqi. First impressions were mixed: while the exterior and lobby are fairly underwhelming, the rooms themselves are noticeably better presented.
Check-in was quick and efficient, and both the receptionist and security staff were friendly and welcoming. My Ctrip booking included a complimentary upgrade from a standard room to a superior room; however, this upgrade was neither provided nor acknowledged at check-in.
The hotelâs location is one of its stronger points. It is situated next to a Chinese shopping district and close to a metro station with direct airport access. That said, the hotel name is misleadingâdespite implying proximity to the Urumqi Grand Bazaar, the bazaar is actually one metro stop away or about a 30-minute walk.
The room itself was acceptable at first glance, but closer inspection revealed significant mold and holes near the bathroom wall. The room temperature remained uncomfortably cold at around 16°C, and the heating system did not appear to be functioning properly. The most serious issue occurred after taking a shower, when all of the drainage water leaked through the wall and completely flooded the room.
I immediately informed the front desk about the flooding and also mentioned the missing complimentary upgrade. Unfortunately, there was a translation misunderstanding, and the receptionist believed I was requesting an upgrade to a suite. Together with the security agent, we inspected the room, and they acknowledged both the flooding and the lack of heating. I was then upgraded to a suite, for which I am gratefulâthough I want to be clear that I never intended to demand a suite upgrade.
What truly surprised me was discovering that the same defective room was cleaned and reassigned to another guest that very evening, apparently without any repairs. It is difficult to understand how a hotel would reissue a room with such serious issues.
On a positive note, housekeeping staff were extremely kind and friendly. However, during our five-night stay, the bedsheets were never changed.
Overall, the Green Tree Eastern Urumqi is not a terrible hotel, but the experience was far from smooth and did not meet the standard set by the Green Tree Eastern property in Kashgar. With better maintenance, clearer communication, and improved housekeeping practices, this hotel could be much better.

GGuest UserHostel is about 5 - 7 minutes away from the âSports Centreâ metro station, which is about 25+ minutes from the airport.
The hostel entrance is next to the Tesla shop, and you have to press the buzzer, for the security guard to open the gate for you.
Then, after writing your name down in the guest-book, you go up to the 10th floor in the lift.

The staff speak little to no English, but they are very helpful.
They will try to solve your issues, as long as you patient with the translation software.
Also, it is difficult for staff to check you in, if you do not have a contact number or Alipay/Wechat contact.

The dorm rooms are basic and you may get the city views.
There are no privacy curtains and there was no air-con, in my one.
The hostel staff can provide fans, but we did not need any, as it was still cool at night.
The beds are OK.
There is a bathroom in the dorm room too, but there was almost no privacy for the bathroom, as there was a gap between the door for others to see and you can see through the frosted glass into the bathroom too!
The hostel is relatively clean, quiet and well-located,
except there may be other local guests, who are loud and smoke sometimes in the other rooms.
Next to the hostel is a nice up-market shopping centre and with really lots to eat, in the food-court on the 3rd floor.
