"I had a really pleasant stay at the Britannia Hotel in Edinburgh with my fiancée. The location was one of the biggest highlights — it’s very accessible to major attractions, especially Dean Village, which made exploring the city incredibly convenient. The breakfast was great with a good variety of options, and it was a perfect start to our mornings. The food overall was satisfying and well-prepared. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and always ready to assist with anything we needed, which made our stay even more comfortable. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and had all the basic amenities required for a relaxing stay. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. A great choice for anyone looking for a convenient location, good food, and welcoming service in Edinburgh."

"The hotel is in a quiet and ideal location! Only 15 mins to the main city centre by bus, with bus stop being opposite the hotel. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, and made the stay comfortable. Unfortunately the hotel was under doing a renovation during the visit which meant some rooms and the hallway walls weren’t clean but I’m sure once the renovation gets done a it will a a clean hotel. Safe area away from the busy city centre. Recommend for solo and couple stays."

"The location is perfect! It's just a few minutes' walk from the Waverley Station Princes Street exit, right next to a shopping mall, and surrounded by plenty of restaurants – super convenient. The room size is typical for the UK, not huge, but you can open two medium-sized suitcases. The bathroom is quite spacious, and the shower has good water pressure. However, whether it's due to hard water or something else, it takes ages to rinse off soap, and there was a persistent body odor smell in the bathroom that just wouldn't go away, which was really annoying. The room comes with a microwave and an induction cooktop, and you can even see Calton Hill from the window. The mattress is on the softer side, so those with back issues should probably reconsider. The bedding felt a bit old and the cleanliness was just average. I brought my own, but it still felt a bit off-putting. There's a coffee machine at the front desk, and free croissants before 10 AM. The coffee beans aren't great, so it's more for when you're too lazy to go out, but there are tons of coffee shops and breakfast spots right downstairs, which is really handy. The front desk also sells snacks, drinks, and emergency toiletries. My last hotel was further from the station, so the close proximity and easy-to-find location of this one are big pluses. Overall, I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10 for value for money. You might be more satisfied if you lower your expectations a bit."

"The hotel is built on a hill, the scenery is very good, far from the city, the room is clean and tidy, the area is slightly smaller, the foreman for breakfast is a Chinese lady, very enthusiastic, because she went out early that day, she helped to pack breakfast safely, thank you very much! "I can only say that I love and hate this hotel. I had a bad stay experience. Can you believe I spent 2,700 yuan to book a room in the basement? ! The pictures of the hotel room are seriously inconsistent with the reality. When booking, I noticed that the pictures of ordinary room types may be underground, so I specially booked a room type one level higher (the corresponding pictures on Ctrip also showed normal windows and floors), but when I arrived at the hotel, I was still arranged in the basement. The hotel manager explained that their rooms were not divided into floors, and after all the rooms upstairs were arranged that day, they arranged a room on the ground floor for us. Living underground was really unacceptable, so I had to accept the manager's recommendation and upgrade to a top-floor room for an additional 80 pounds. Environment: As shown in the picture, the view from the upgraded room is really great. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from important attractions such as Princes Street and the Castle. The location is slightly far, but acceptable. Facilities: The room facilities are generally good. The hotel environment is very classic and well maintained. There is a parking lot at the back door, which is quite convenient. Hygiene: It may be that we changed rooms temporarily. After checking in, we found that the bathroom must have been used by someone, and there was also a used razor in the trash can. I wonder if the cleaning staff threw it away... Therefore, if you want to check in, it is recommended to determine the room type and floor in advance."

"This was my first time bringing my mom back to Edinburgh since graduation, and this hotel was always on my wish list when I was a student. The room offered a view of Calton Hill, and I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. It would have been even better if the room was on a higher floor. Plus, the haggis at the hotel breakfast was delicious, even better than the one at Haggis Box!"

"It was an overall great experience, the room we stayed in was just off of the reception and was an extension to the building with beautiful high ceilings and plenty of light. The overall style of the room was modern and comfortable and we even had a little balcony, it was so cute! The staff at reception were lovely and the hotel was clean. The location is handy enough you can easily walk to the city center in 25 minutes or so but there is public transport options aswell. It was nice for a little couples get away."
