"The hotel's location is fantastic, directly across from Waverley train station – just cross the street and you're there. It's incredibly convenient, right on Princes Street. Edinburgh's traffic is generally light, so crossing streets is easy. Compared to other attractions, the hotel is situated on lower ground. It's about a seventeen-minute walk to the Royal Mile, where most of the main sights are, and similar distances to museums and art galleries.
We were given a fifth-floor attic room, which was a bit of a downside as our luggage had trouble reaching it, but staff were on hand to help. The window in that room was particularly small, which meant the natural light wasn't great and the overall feel wasn't ideal.
However, the breakfast truly deserves special mention – it was absolutely fantastic, with the quality and service you'd expect from a five-star hotel. As for dinner, while convenient to eat at the hotel, the prices were quite high, and the food didn't really impress me, so I wouldn't recommend it. Just something to consider!"
