"Another night staying at this hostel. We stayed in a six-person female dorm. Except that the drainage is quite bad at the shower room, and the bunk bed is noisy when i move, everything is good and clean. A good choice for budget traveller!"

"This hotel is conveniently located near the city's train station. It has a front desk and luggage storage (for a fee of £3 per piece). Check-in time is 2 PM, and check-out time is 10 AM. The hotel is apartment-style, with spacious and clean rooms, each equipped with a kitchen, kettle, refrigerator, microwave, and tableware. However, there is no elevator, and the toilet and bathroom are located in the hallway. The front desk service is not very friendly to Chinese guests. If you don't mind the type of hotel when traveling to Edinburgh, this hotel is a good option."

"Pros: 1. **Convenient Location**: The hostel is close to the castle, making it very easy to explore the old town. 2. **Great Dining Options**: There's a restaurant and bar on the ground floor. Breakfast is à la carte and very reasonably priced; the croissant and coffee I ordered were delicious. In the evenings, it transforms into a bar with a really relaxed and cozy atmosphere in the common area. 3. **Excellent Service**: One morning, I needed to use the restroom early and happened upon a staff member cleaning. After I knocked and he agreed to let me in, he thoughtfully offered to come back later to ensure I felt comfortable and secure. The staff, all young and pleasant (both handsome guys and pretty girls), were very patient during check-in and when taking food orders. 4. **Cleanliness**: Both the room and bathroom were quite clean. 5. **Comfortable Dorm Beds**: The sleeping area had privacy curtains, ample space, and a very sturdy ladder to the top bunk that didn't disturb others. Cons: 1. **Challenging Walk from Station**: Although the walking distance from the station to the hostel is short, there's a rather steep and high staircase. This would be very inconvenient if you have luggage. Luckily, a very polite and gentlemanly couple helped me out. 2. **Poor Signage**: Upon arrival, the signage for the hostel entrance was unclear, and I found myself wandering between the hotel and restaurant, unsure of where to go. Overall: I highly recommend this hostel! 👏"

"Definitely worth the slight awkwardness of crawling into capsule-pod from foot end for greater privacy (curtain, individual light, useful narrow shelf) and quieter night's sleep, and the bathroom has adequate facilities – toilet, two each of basins and well-designed shower cubicles – for up to eight (two four-bed rooms): a bargain in comparison with usual central Edinburgh prices… and, if not using the well-equipped kitchen, the back entrance to a Wetherspoon pub is next door, barely a dozen steps away!"

"Spent one night solo at St Christopher’s in the centre of Edinburgh and it did exactly what I needed: a safe, social, great-location base for exploring. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat — super central and walkable to the Old Town sights, shops, cafés, and transport, which made it perfect for a short stay. As a solo traveller, I really appreciated the friendly, lively vibe. There were plenty of people around, and it felt easy to chat in the common areas without it being awkward. The room was basic but fine for a night: comfortable enough, decent storage, and it felt secure. Bathrooms were generally okay (hostel-style—expect busy times), and the overall place felt well run. The only real downside is that, because it’s central and social, it can get a bit noisy, especially later in the evening—earplugs are a good idea if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, great value for a one-night solo stay in central Edinburgh. Tip: bring earplugs + a small padlock, and check in a little earlier if you want a calmer bunk/room choice."

"It was 850meter walk upon arrival at Edinburgh Waverley train station. Through slopes, stairs and uneven roads. Heavy luhgage is strongly not recommended. Fast check in and check out. Great amenities with clean kitchen full with amenities. Toilet a bit small and could be dirty at times. No lifts so have to carry luggage all the way up to 3rs floor. Beds are comfy and clean. As it's bunk bed, so it could be quite disturbing when the other is moving inconsiderably vigorously."

"We booked a twin-private room. The room was small, so we had to put the luggage under the bed. If you want your room to be cleaned, then you have to book the room cleaning by scanning a QR code, 1 day before. We did it, but then no one cleaned our room. We told the reception, and they said they didn't receive our request. Hence, we had to re-book for the following day, and we told the reception as well. Only then, our room got cleaning. They cleaning was the basic one, emptied the trash bin, and refilled the toilet tissue. They wouldn't make up your bed. The hostel is strategically located, but to shorten the length, you have to take the stairs step (around 300m only). If you are with heavy luggage, then it will be around 700m from the train station (wheel-chair access street)"

"A last minute booking as my flight was delayed and couldn’t make connecting train, everything was fine, bottom bunk a little short on headroom but fine for sleeping, everything clean but energy saving toilets often didn’t flush but thats just down to water power, Perfect location could’ve better placed with its own bar and 5 mins walk to train station and city centre"

JJINGAbsolutely a good location for quietness and quiet in the new city. Very close to the train station and the airport bus. If you bring large luggage, it is recommended that you live in the new city. It is very convenient. As long as you have a bed, you don’t need to wait until the afternoon. If you have big luggage, you need to take some effort to climb this red staircase. Others are perfect. You can cook in the kitchen. Basically, you have fruit, bread, milk, and tea. There is no limit in the hall. Your best meal, please consciously tidy and clean the girl I live in. The 6 rooms have curtains. The bedside can fill the shop. Small luggage can be placed directly in everyone's cabinet. If you are lucky, you can live on the bottom floor. Hahaha. It's a three-story bed, so the first floor is very low and I can hardly straighten the waist. I can end it. After all, the price is so favorable. Right, there is a great coffee bar and small restaurant downstairs. Everyone is seductive when I see the Apple store and turn in. This is the bar and the hotel

GGuest UserWe stayed twice at the Riccarton Inn. It's traditional with a pub up front and rooms at the back. Very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. This is not a hotel chain but an individual inn. The rooms are not new, nor full of modern amenities as some would require. The mattress was creeky. Nevertheless, if you want a truly Scottish experience full of authentic ambiance, you cannot beat Riccarton. We ate breakfast and dinner in the inn and found them delicious. Had to hop on a couple of buses to get there from the airport, but that was part of the fun!

GGuest UserOverall, the hostel is good , the environment is good and the customer service is very friendly.  I love the lobby architectural design. Feelin the vibe.  The receptionist  are accommodating and friendly especially Hari  give star for the good service.  Aside from the shower  which is very hot  that you cant even take a shower. Other than that everything is  good with the affordable price.

GGuest UserThis is a very interesting hotel in a converted church, the staff are very nice, friendly and attentive. Because it is a historical building, there is no way to remodel it. The rooms are still relatively large. There are collective kitchens, movie rooms, and few single rooms, so it is more convenient to wash in the public bathroom. It's still fun to feel the unique atmosphere.

BBounty ChenIt is a nice place for us Backpackers to crash in for a few days. 30mins walking distance to the hike to Arthur's Seat, very close to a nice park in the front. The staff are friendly and there are Nintendo Switch, guitar, book, magazines etc in the common room. Fun place!

AAnonymous UserThe staff were nice, the bed and the toilet was clean. However, the bathroom was dirty. The sleeping experience depends on the people in the room. Mine was bad because people in the room with me was loud even at 11PM. There was a bar on the ground floor. There was also a kitchen for people to use which was nice. Do I recommend this? If you're saving money, yes. But i recommend bringing slippers to be more comfortable and a lock for your bag for safety.
