"Absolutely a 5-star review! It's very close to the JR station. The guy at the front desk was incredibly thorough, helping with travel advice and even translating Chinese attractions into Japanese so I could find them on G-Maps. Breakfast was outstanding, with many ingredients sourced from Oita. The large public bath on the rooftop was also great, offering a fantastic viewing spot and an excellent place to watch the sunrise đ

"Location is near Beppu station.
Car parking was next to it, controlled by lift. Meaning park and the car was lifted in a building. Charged per daily and could retrieve car anytime.
7 private Onsen rooms, need to queue to use during evening. One or 2 was empty during afternoon.
Complimentary ramen in soya sauce broth from 10-11pm, if missed it, take the house brand instant noodle cup from reception.
Remember to take the complimentary Yakult from 6-10am. Coffee and matcha machine in lobby.
Remove shoes at lobby and roll luggages over a wet mat. Bare foot or socks provided throughout hotel, even at restaurant. Didnât try the breakfast and dinner.
Typical Japanese hard mattress and pillows.
Good for families or friends up to 4 per room."

The female dorm room is big. Showers and toilets are clean, with free shampoo conditioner and shower gel provided for guests. There is paid washing machine and dryer to use. And on the 5 floor the guests can use sauna for free.

"I stayed in Beppu for 4 nights, trying different onsens at different hotels.Tsuruta was my last Beppu hotel. Although the room i stayed in is rather dated and items worn out, all necessary equipment are working very well, i stayed at a newer 4.5 star hotel prior and the air-conditioner, hair dryer and toilet exhaust were noisy and faulty, while in the older Tsuruta where everything works well! This don't judge a book by its cover, older hotels is just as good! I've attached a photo of the park and harbour view from my room at Tsuruta."

"I've stayed at Beppu Kamenoi Hotel multiple times, and it consistently delivers a great experience. The hotel is quite large. While it's an older property and some of the facilities show their age, it's very well-maintained and impeccably clean. The hotel's onsen (hot springs) are a major highlight â absolutely fantastic for melting away fatigue. Inside the hotel, there are several restaurants, all serving delicious food at reasonable prices. Its location is superb, just a few minutes' walk from the JR station, making it incredibly convenient for travel. We made good use of our JR Pass to easily visit Oita and Kokura."

"An absolutely fantastic onsen ryokan with a superb, prime beachfront location. It was the most affordable onsen ryokan I booked for this trip, yet it turned out to be the most delightful surprise. The tall gentleman at the front desk provided absolutely outstanding service! He was so warm and friendly, and his sincerity truly shone through. Much appreciated! Definitely make sure to reserve the private open-air onsen on the 6th floor. Soaking in the onsen while watching the sunset is such a blissful experience. The room we booked also came with its own private onsen. It offers incredible value for money. All the staff members were incredibly polite, and the breakfast was delicious too! I absolutely adore Beppu city!"

"Transportation: Very convenient. It's only a 10-minute walk to JR Beppu Station. For my bus trip to Fukuoka, the bus stop (right outside Starbucks) was just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
Facilities: This is a resort-style hotel, and I was lucky enough to snag a sea-view room where the first rays of morning sun streamed directly in. The room was very spacious, more than enough for two people; it actually felt a bit large for just myself. It was approximately 10 tatami mats in size (excluding the bathroom, separate toilet, entryway, and balcony).
Cleanliness: As it was a Japanese-style room, it was generally clean, but there were some small bugs. I got a few bites on my fingers and bottom, but they cleared up by the next day.
Ambiance: The balcony offered a direct view of the ocean. The 260-degree sea view room was truly impressive.
Service: Overall, the service was very good. The only area that needs improvement is the hot spring on the 7th floor. On the day of my arrival, I made a reservation for the hot spring with the hotel, but I didn't receive any confirmation or proof. Consequently, I didn't actually go. However, I was still charged either 1000 or 1500 yen for it at check-out. It's a small amount, so I didn't bother disputing it with the front desk, but I do think their booking and confirmation process for the hot spring needs significant improvement."

DDraculazhiyiI stayed at Liguanfang for two consecutive nights, so I'd like to share my experience. From a location perspective, it's incredibly convenient, with several hot spring 'hells' in Kannawa just a five-minute walk away. Getting to and from the airport via the express bus is also very easy, and if you have a lot of luggage, they can even arrange delivery to the station. Regarding the environment, it's elegant, and there weren't many guests during my stay, so it was generally quiet. As for the room facilities, the hot spring water was exceptional â truly worthy of Kannawa Onsen, one of Beppu's Eight Hot Springs. The water was much better than another hotel I stayed at in Beppu; my skin felt noticeably smoother after soaking. From a food perspective, it was good. However, since I also stayed at another hotel in Beppu, the food here was slightly inferior by comparison, but still worth experiencing. Overall, it's an excellent onsen ryokan that's definitely worth a return visit!

GGuest UserThe hotel is situated 15 minutes taxi ride from the Beppu station. So we have nowhere to go that night. But it's good enough to have hotspring and drinks in the hotel. The staff is very polite and can explain what you can do in English. Then you were lead to the room and tips rejected.
We booked the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. The dinner time is either 6pm or 6:30pm and the breakfast time 8am or 8:30. The dinner is good but maybe my expectation is quite high, it didn't reach my expectation, especially for the sashimi.
For the onsen, there are 4 private onsens and 2 public. One of the private onsens is closed. Therefore we can use 3. You can use the private onsen when it is not occupied. Just lock the door and turn the plate to the other side. But all the onsen are closed by 12 midnight. And there is a room with free flow beer and soda, but it closes at 10pm. Don't drink beer before taking hotspring.
There is also an onsen in our room which can be used anytime. It's hot at night but not so hot in the next morning. Overall, the view is good. The staff is good. The food is good (just not so great) and the onsens are good. Beppu is a good place to stay a few days more

The location is very convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Beppu Station. There's a Lawson nearby and plenty of restaurants. You can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes.
On the 3rd floor, there's a free hot spring. If you want to use it, you can pick up a yukata and belt from the toiletries area on the first floor. It's on a lower level, and I didn't see it at first, so I had to come back down to get it. There's a good selection of toiletries, including disposable makeup remover and facial cleanser.
## Cleanliness:
The room's cleanliness was decent. The facilities were a bit old but still clean. The hot spring only had two hot pools, one cold pool, and a sauna. There was also an outdoor pool just big enough for one person. You just take off your clothes, rinse off, and then soak. However, when I was soaking, I noticed a lot of what looked like exfoliated dirt floating in the pool. The water circulation didn't seem to be very timely, so I only soaked for a short while and then left.
## Facilities:
There's a washing machine and dryer, which I think cost 300 yen per use. The room has a refrigerator, but it doesn't seem to have a microwave; that's probably in a common area. It's quite quiet.
## Service:
The service was very friendly. Opposite the restroom on the first floor, there's a self-service luggage storage area where you can set your own password and retrieve your belongings, which is very convenient.

location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk. there is a 7-11 just around the corner
room: my room came without a bathroom but for the ladies are 3 cubicles shared among the 7 mix gendered guests on the floor. i did not have to wait in line at all. there was more than enough space in the room to open my suitcase wide and still feel comfortable. bed and pillow was a bit hard though, and you can hear anyone talking loudly downstairs outside the building as the room is on 2nd floor, tho that doesnt happen very often.
food: amazing balanced breakfast that changes everyday - really delicious!
onsen: the one on 2F was smaller than 1F, but very good and comfortable. clean too. you can book a private onsen room for 500yen (50mins)
staff: all of them were super friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. there are english-proficient staff available 24H as well :)

GGuest UserThe entryway is very spacious, and the room itself is surprisingly large, even bigger than it appears in the photos. The sea view is beautiful, and soaking in the hot spring at night felt just like having a private onsen. There's a bus stop right outside, with direct service to Chinoike Jigoku (Blood Pond Hell). Beppu Kitahama is right next door, and Don Quijote is just a short walk further. While it's a bit of a walk from Beppu Station, staying right by the sea often means sacrificing a little bit of convenience.

GGuest UserThis room is best suited for couples or solo travelers. If you're over 180cm (about 5'11â) tall, I strongly advise against booking it as you'll find it extremely cramped. Similarly, if a couple is on the larger side, it might be a tight squeeze. It's truly ideal only for those who are not particularly tall or big.
The main perk is the access to the hot springs at the adjacent hotel, where the water is wonderfully soothing. Although there's a hot spring swimming pool upstairs, it was too cold and windy to enjoy; I visited in late May, and it was still quite cool.
The location is very convenient, with supermarkets and convenience stores nearby. It's an 8-minute walk from Beppu Station, and even if you arrive by bus, it's just a 10-minute stroll, making transport very easy.

Good soundproofing between rooms. Only could hear passing by of trains while awake, so wasnât a big an issue to us.
TV has YouTube and Netflix to watch!
Cons: No lift!!! We had to carry our heavy & big luggages to the 2nd floor! *Should indicate shortage of this important facility in the booking system!
Only 2 parking spaces for 7 units. *Should also indicate in the booking system that parking spaces are first come first served and have to park at nearby paying car parks if both were being taken up.
Will be nice to provide some garbage bags in the room as clearing of food waste from the room was definitely necessary during the many days of our stay!
Dining table (super wobbly and one side of the table legs seemed like giving away very soon) needs to changed/repaired instantly!
