Initially, I was torn between choosing between Kai Beppu and Harumi, and I'm so glad I ultimately went with Harumi. From the service to the facilities, this onsen (hot spring) ranks as one of the best I've visited in Japan, alongside Izu, Arima, and Karuizawa. Enjoying a hot soak with family, then relaxing on the balcony listening to the ocean waves while sipping a drink—it was such a perfect evening. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was outstanding, featuring many local specialties. I'll definitely be back!

kyon007The hotel was exceptionally clean. Although the room was a bit small, it felt new, and a great perk was being able to pick up amenities from the lobby entrance after check-in. They offered a wide variety, including makeup remover, toner, coffee, and tea, which was incredibly helpful! Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were already provided in the room. The hotel also featured a natural hot spring bath (onsen) with free-flowing water and a sauna, which left my skin feeling wonderfully moisturized. While the buffet selection wasn't extensive, the food was delicious. We chose this hotel to enjoy the Hit Parade show, and because it was so clean and convenient, I'd definitely like to stay here again.

I've stayed here before, and this time I brought a friend and booked a larger room. It's a historic inn, but the building and decor don't feel old at all. The Japanese-style room has a really nice vibe, and the smell of the tatami mats is so soothing. The room itself is incredibly spacious; I honestly think three or four people could comfortably stay in that one large tatami room. On the top floor, there's a hot spring with one indoor bath, a small outdoor bath, and a small sauna, all using natural hot spring water. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but all the dishes are local specialties or popular items from Oita Prefecture, so you'll definitely eat well and feel full. The downstairs parking used to be free, but now it costs 700 yen per night.

This hotel is very cost-effective and has good services. The facilities are a bit old, but it does not affect the use. The room is big enough and the bed is comfortable. There are not many people in the hot spring pool, two indoor and outdoor, with three or four bathing places respectively. There is a microwave on the tenth floor of the hotel. Opposite the room we stayed is a large lawn with a good view. There is a large supermarket on foot. There is also a restaurant that makes delicious tempura next to the hotel. If you go late, you have to queue. I will consider it next time.
