"Absolutely a 5-star review! It's very close to the JR station. The guy at the front desk was incredibly thorough, helping with travel advice and even translating Chinese attractions into Japanese so I could find them on G-Maps. Breakfast was outstanding, with many ingredients sourced from Oita. The large public bath on the rooftop was also great, offering a fantastic viewing spot and an excellent place to watch the sunrise 🌅. Staying in Beppu this time and exploring nearby was definitely the right choice."

"This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. I was initially hesitant because there were only three reviews, but after arriving, I realized it was excellent value for money. The room was at least 40 square meters and had two hot spring baths. The location was also great, with several popular shops nearby within walking distance, including Don Quijote. However, since it's newly opened, there was still a slight odor."

"Location is near Beppu station. Car parking was next to it, controlled by lift. Meaning park and the car was lifted in a building. Charged per daily and could retrieve car anytime. 7 private Onsen rooms, need to queue to use during evening. One or 2 was empty during afternoon. Complimentary ramen in soya sauce broth from 10-11pm, if missed it, take the house brand instant noodle cup from reception. Remember to take the complimentary Yakult from 6-10am. Coffee and matcha machine in lobby. Remove shoes at lobby and roll luggages over a wet mat. Bare foot or socks provided throughout hotel, even at restaurant. Didn’t try the breakfast and dinner. Typical Japanese hard mattress and pillows. Good for families or friends up to 4 per room."

"An absolutely fantastic onsen ryokan with a superb, prime beachfront location. It was the most affordable onsen ryokan I booked for this trip, yet it turned out to be the most delightful surprise. The tall gentleman at the front desk provided absolutely outstanding service! He was so warm and friendly, and his sincerity truly shone through. Much appreciated! Definitely make sure to reserve the private open-air onsen on the 6th floor. Soaking in the onsen while watching the sunset is such a blissful experience. The room we booked also came with its own private onsen. It offers incredible value for money. All the staff members were incredibly polite, and the breakfast was delicious too! I absolutely adore Beppu city!"

"The hotel is very close to JR Beppu Station. The staff all speak fluent English, making communication a breeze. The room was clean, and the hotel was beautifully decorated. I'll definitely stay there next time. Free coffee is available all day. The breakfast is Japanese style."

"I stayed at Liguanfang for two consecutive nights, so I'd like to share my experience. From a location perspective, it's incredibly convenient, with several hot spring 'hells' in Kannawa just a five-minute walk away. Getting to and from the airport via the express bus is also very easy, and if you have a lot of luggage, they can even arrange delivery to the station. Regarding the environment, it's elegant, and there weren't many guests during my stay, so it was generally quiet. As for the room facilities, the hot spring water was exceptional – truly worthy of Kannawa Onsen, one of Beppu's Eight Hot Springs. The water was much better than another hotel I stayed at in Beppu; my skin felt noticeably smoother after soaking. From a food perspective, it was good. However, since I also stayed at another hotel in Beppu, the food here was slightly inferior by comparison, but still worth experiencing. Overall, it's an excellent onsen ryokan that's definitely worth a return visit!"

"Facilities: The hotel building has its name prominently displayed on the top floor, making it easy to spot and find. It’s a traditional Japanese hotel; while the facilities might look a bit dated, they possess a charm and strength that comes with age. The rooms are spacious, with a separate wet and dry area. The bathroom vanity is also large, which is quite generous for a hot spring hotel offering dinner and breakfast (ichihaku-nisyoku). The public bath isn't huge, but it's perfect for a relaxing soak after washing up (toiletries are provided, though I only saw facial cleanser, no makeup remover, so it's advisable to bring your own). I went during dinner time, so I had the place all to myself, which was wonderfully comfortable. After showering, drinking water and vending machines are available right outside the bath entrance. I didn't book a private bath, so I can't comment on that. Cleanliness: Overall, it was very good. The tatami mats were clean, and you can always trust the standards of Japanese establishments. Environment: The surroundings are peaceful and serene. Our room faced the ocean, and the sea was especially calm in the morning. The grassy slopes and walking paths along the coast were also very pleasant and distinctly Japanese! We took a comfortable stroll there in the evening. The town was particularly quiet and tranquil in the mornings, and Beppu Station was only about a ten-minute walk away. Highly recommend! Service: The service was excellent. During check-in, they provided a detailed explanation of the facilities and let us choose our dinner and breakfast times based on our arrival. This perfectly aligned with our itinerary for the next day, which was great. Dinner was delicious, with a generous selection of sashimi and hot pot dishes. Soft drinks could be ordered separately. It was ample for two adults and one child. Breakfast was traditional Japanese, served in a small private room with an ocean view – lovely. On the morning of our second day, I unexpectedly got my period. I wanted to buy sanitary pads, so I showed a translation to the elderly lady at the front desk. She immediately went into the back room and brought out several different types, neatly wrapped in paper for me. It was incredibly thoughtful. There's also self-service coffee available in the lobby, worth trying. Overall, we were very satisfied. We spent two days and one night in Beppu, visiting the 'Hells' (hot spring tour) and the Kyushu Natural Zoological Park. It's a town definitely worth a second visit."

"The entryway is very spacious, and the room itself is surprisingly large, even bigger than it appears in the photos. The sea view is beautiful, and soaking in the hot spring at night felt just like having a private onsen. There's a bus stop right outside, with direct service to Chinoike Jigoku (Blood Pond Hell). Beppu Kitahama is right next door, and Don Quijote is just a short walk further. While it's a bit of a walk from Beppu Station, staying right by the sea often means sacrificing a little bit of convenience."

"The transportation is not very convenient, suitable for self-driving. If you don't have a car, you can take the bus to the foot of the mountain, which takes about 15 minutes to walk. The environment is quiet, there are five hot springs to experience, but due to the Spring Festival, the prime time is basically full, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. The Wagyu dishes for dinner are very delicious, and the private baths and public baths are very clean. Although the breakfast tastes Japanese, the overall stay experience is great. If you want to experience a stay and two meals, you can come and experience this restaurant."

"As an old five-star hotel, it is a very traditional Japanese hotel, but the facilities are well maintained. I brought my children here, and they were very happy to eat popsicles every day. The large bath is divided into Nanyu and another one, and Nanyu is very large. One night and two meals is a must, it is worth it. The dishes are completely full, and the ingredients are great. The breakfast is very rich, with both Japanese characteristics and a variety of styles."
