"The location of the hotel is very good that it only takes 2-3 mins walk from beppu station. And around the hotel are different restaurants and shops in which you can buy souvenirs. Most importantly, there are 2 convenient stores nearby, 1 lawson and 1 family mart. The room with a modern style is well decorated, spacious and clean. The view from the room is also stunning. The picture was taken from my room. You can also enjoy this view when you are bathing as there is a big window in the bathing room. The onsen and the swimming pool are also good. The water in the swimming pool is warm even it’s in winter. So no matter which season you are in, you can still swim in the pool at the rooftop and at the same time enjoy the panoramic view of beppu. The only one thing I don’t like is that the cable machine in the gym room is so noisy and the motion is not smooth. It only has 1-10 kg dumbbells so if you want to get your chest pumped, you will have to find another way😭 btw, the breakfast is just normal. You can skip it and use that 3000 sth dollars to get sth delicious. if I travel to beppu again, this hotel will be my first priority fr."

1 minute walk from Beppu Station. Opening on October 17, 2023!

"This is a popular, mid-range hot spring hotel in Beppu. I stayed here for two nights in late January this year and felt it offered incredible value for money. Having been open for less than five years, the hotel facilities are very new. This was my first time staying at a hotel where you have to take off your shoes and store them in a locker upon entering, which instantly creates a relaxing atmosphere for guests. Disposable socks are also provided in the room. Even luggage entering the hotel passes over a washable damp mat, ensuring the floors remain spotless. The hotel is conveniently located directly across the street from Beppu Station, just a 3-5 minute walk away. Tickets for the 'Hells of Beppu' hot springs can be purchased at the information center at Beppu Station, or you can simply take a bus directly to the attractions. For a day trip to Yufuin, you can catch the JR train or bus No. 36 from Beppu Station. To Fukuoka, you can take the JR from Beppu Station, or walk 10 minutes to the Beppu Shopping Mall entrance (Beppu Kitahama Airport Bus Stop) to catch an airport bus. Beppu Tower and the seaside are also only about a 12-15 minute walk away. Rooms at this hotel are notoriously difficult to book. I booked a triple room almost two and a half months in advance in early November. For the first night, I only managed to secure a 41-square-meter family room with four beds (Photo 5), which turned out to be a delightful surprise. Two beds were in the spacious living room and two in the bedroom. The bathroom was a three-piece design with both a bathtub and a bidet. Both the rooms and public areas are decorated in a simple yet elegant style, featuring artistic patterns created with bamboo weaving and silk flowers. The hotel's hot spring facilities are located on the top floor (13th floor), open from 3 PM until 10 AM the following day. There are two public baths, one for men and one for women. Access to the men's bath only requires scanning your room card, while the women's bath requires a password (provided with your room card at check-in). Additionally, there are seven private baths available for couples, families, or friends to enjoy privately, limited to 45 minutes per session. On the first day, my family queued for check-in. At 3:10 PM, we experienced three private baths: Shibaishi, Myoban, and Kankaiji (top left, top right, and bottom left of Photo 4, respectively). After 4 PM, a long queue had already formed. On the second day, we switched rooms and checked in early at 2:50 PM. At 3:05 PM, we went up and, after waiting in line for 20 minutes, only managed to enjoy Hottayu (top right of Photo 5). After dinner, we waited almost 40 minutes for Kannawa (top left of Photo 5). Screens in the guest rooms and on the 13th floor display the real-time availability of the private baths. During winter, the open-air hot springs on the high floor can be very windy, and the water temperature is relatively low, which can make your scalp tingle. The Kankaiji room is often unused, so be cautious when choosing it; in summer, it's the opposite. There's also an ocean-view lounge on the same floor, offering complimentary ice cream with four or five flavors. From 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Yakult is also provided, though it tends to be taken by guests after 8:30 AM. The buffet restaurant is on the first floor and is not very large. For breakfast, after 8 AM, you generally need to take a number and wait, which can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes. Breakfast costs 3000 JPY/person, and dinner is 4000 JPY/person. Personally, I found breakfast to be better value. Dinner only adds more teppanyaki beef, pan-fried snapper, and mussels, but the desserts and fruits are not as good as breakfast. From 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM, complimentary soy sauce ramen is offered. For the first half hour, there's usually a long queue, but it's really delicious. The lobby on the first floor offers 24-hour free coffee, hot chocolate, hot and cold water, and ice. Over 80% of the hotel's guests are Korean, with a good number of Hong Kong and ********* visitors as well; perhaps fewer domestic tourists were present during my visit as it wasn't yet the winter holiday season. Overall, with its excellent location, spacious rooms, fantastic private baths with great views, and good dining options, plus plenty of free perks, this hotel offers exceptional value and is highly recommended."

"First of all, I would like to extend special thanks to the hotel for their cooperation, and especially to Mr. Ninomiya from the hotel for his tremendous assistance, which made my partner and I experience a truly romantic and unforgettable time. The hotel staff spoke good English and were very friendly. The environment was tranquil and clean, the hot springs were excellent, and the view from the room I booked was absolutely superb. If I have the chance to visit Beppu for a vacation again in the future, I will definitely return and will also recommend it to my friends."

"Located in a hot spring town right by the sea, this hotel perfectly combines both experiences, allowing guests to soak in hot springs with ocean views. We booked the half-board plan. The food variety was extensive, though not particularly gourmet or refined. While you could tell thought was put into the dishes, the taste was only average. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. It offered the most comfortable night's sleep I had in Japan; the tatami room felt incredibly cozy, almost like Doraemon's inviting space. The entire place was clean and tidy. Our room also featured a private soaking tub with a lovely sea view."

"The entryway is very spacious, and the room itself is surprisingly large, even bigger than it appears in the photos. The sea view is beautiful, and soaking in the hot spring at night felt just like having a private onsen. There's a bus stop right outside, with direct service to Chinoike Jigoku (Blood Pond Hell). Beppu Kitahama is right next door, and Don Quijote is just a short walk further. While it's a bit of a walk from Beppu Station, staying right by the sea often means sacrificing a little bit of convenience."

"Facilities: The hotel building has its name prominently displayed on the top floor, making it easy to spot and find. It’s a traditional Japanese hotel; while the facilities might look a bit dated, they possess a charm and strength that comes with age. The rooms are spacious, with a separate wet and dry area. The bathroom vanity is also large, which is quite generous for a hot spring hotel offering dinner and breakfast (ichihaku-nisyoku). The public bath isn't huge, but it's perfect for a relaxing soak after washing up (toiletries are provided, though I only saw facial cleanser, no makeup remover, so it's advisable to bring your own). I went during dinner time, so I had the place all to myself, which was wonderfully comfortable. After showering, drinking water and vending machines are available right outside the bath entrance. I didn't book a private bath, so I can't comment on that. Cleanliness: Overall, it was very good. The tatami mats were clean, and you can always trust the standards of Japanese establishments. Environment: The surroundings are peaceful and serene. Our room faced the ocean, and the sea was especially calm in the morning. The grassy slopes and walking paths along the coast were also very pleasant and distinctly Japanese! We took a comfortable stroll there in the evening. The town was particularly quiet and tranquil in the mornings, and Beppu Station was only about a ten-minute walk away. Highly recommend! Service: The service was excellent. During check-in, they provided a detailed explanation of the facilities and let us choose our dinner and breakfast times based on our arrival. This perfectly aligned with our itinerary for the next day, which was great. Dinner was delicious, with a generous selection of sashimi and hot pot dishes. Soft drinks could be ordered separately. It was ample for two adults and one child. Breakfast was traditional Japanese, served in a small private room with an ocean view – lovely. On the morning of our second day, I unexpectedly got my period. I wanted to buy sanitary pads, so I showed a translation to the elderly lady at the front desk. She immediately went into the back room and brought out several different types, neatly wrapped in paper for me. It was incredibly thoughtful. There's also self-service coffee available in the lobby, worth trying. Overall, we were very satisfied. We spent two days and one night in Beppu, visiting the 'Hells' (hot spring tour) and the Kyushu Natural Zoological Park. It's a town definitely worth a second visit."

"This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, probably because it’s very new. I was extremely satisfied with all the facilities in my room. The space was great, and having a kitchen and a washing machine was a huge plus. There’s also a rooftop onsen available for guests, which I really enjoyed. I absolutely loved the free welcome drinks at the entrance I honestly wish I could take the machine home! Overall, the stay was very comfortable. If I were to give one suggestion, it would be to improve the privacy of the onsen slightly, as it’s still possible to see inside from the entrance, which may cause some privacy concerns."

A new hot spring hotel is born in a land rich with the history and culture of Beppu. Combining the comfort of a city hotel with the charm of a traditional Japanese ryokan, we offer a refined modern Japanese-style space. We warmly welcome you with high-quality hot springs and heartfelt hospitality.

"As previous reviews mentioned, the room was indeed spacious. The hotel's hot spring spans two floors, with separate times for men and women. The day we arrived, the top-floor bath was designated for women. Yukata and toiletries can be conveniently picked up in the lobby on the first floor. There's a thoughtful basket in the room for carrying towels and other items to the hot spring area. The most impressive part was breakfast on the second day. After grabbing convenience store breakfasts for the past few days, I finally experienced a Japanese-style buffet breakfast at SanSenKaku."

The Kannawaen provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The Kannawaen offers a pleasant stay in Beppu for those traveling for business or leisure. Traveling to the hotel is easy with Beppudaigaku Station located approximately 3km away and Oita Airport roughly 49km away. With multiple attractions nearby including Jigoku Onsen Museum, Kannawajigokuchitai Park and Otani Park, guests will find plenty to keep themselves occupied. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. This Beppu hotel features parking on site. Our guests rate this hotel as one of the best hotels for cleanliness. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.

"I stayed at Liguanfang for two consecutive nights, so I'd like to share my experience. From a location perspective, it's incredibly convenient, with several hot spring 'hells' in Kannawa just a five-minute walk away. Getting to and from the airport via the express bus is also very easy, and if you have a lot of luggage, they can even arrange delivery to the station. Regarding the environment, it's elegant, and there weren't many guests during my stay, so it was generally quiet. As for the room facilities, the hot spring water was exceptional – truly worthy of Kannawa Onsen, one of Beppu's Eight Hot Springs. The water was much better than another hotel I stayed at in Beppu; my skin felt noticeably smoother after soaking. From a food perspective, it was good. However, since I also stayed at another hotel in Beppu, the food here was slightly inferior by comparison, but still worth experiencing. Overall, it's an excellent onsen ryokan that's definitely worth a return visit!"

"My friends and I are very satisfied with this hotel. We were a little worried at first because the room facilities still maintain the old style (key-operated doors, traditional old-style tatami mats and paper doors). We booked the ”one bed, two meals” package, and dinner was at Choose to eat kaiseki cuisine in the room. The chef's craftsmanship and menu design made us feel that it was well worth the money spent this time! ! Although the dining space for breakfast is not large, every dish is very delicious! If you want to talk about the shortcomings, it is probably that the space for bathing is not large, but my friends and I think that compared to other hot springs that are full of people, this environment is quite refined and comfortable. The hotel's lobby and public spaces have all been transformed into a modern style, and not only free drinks are provided (there are even draft beers for you to drink). I personally like and recommend this hotel"

GGuest UserThe hotel is in the hot spring area, a 10-minute walk to Umijigoku. There is a bus stop at the door of the hotel, and the location is convenient. The internal facilities are new and clean, and the rooms are tidy. The hotel staff are also very friendly and willing to help guests. Breakfast and dinner were both plentiful and of good quality. You can have Bungo Wagyu for dinner. The staff would come over from time to time to ask if we want to order more Wagyu. We ate a lot of Wagyu. As a foodie, I recommend this hotel 10 points!

CChiehyunIt was my first time eating breakfast prepared by a Japanese restaurant. I was really amazed by the tofu, which tasted like a chewy pudding. Each dish tasted like it had its own special seasoning. As a *********, I’m used to seasonings such as pepper, garlic, and salt, but it was completely edible and it was delicious! Some inconveniences are that elderly people with bad backs or legs are not suitable for this restaurant, because Japanese style seats require sitting on the ground and walking up stairs (but since there is only the second floor, I think it is worth a try). The room we stayed in was for four people to a room, so we ate and ate in the same space. When we needed to move the bed to make it or move the table back to eat, we had to squeeze into a corner or leave the room to let the staff finish. Although this move took no more than 10 minutes (about 5 minutes), it was still not very convenient and I didn't really like this part. The staff attitude, service and room cleanliness are all of a high standard.

LLeeI stayed with my family during our trip to Beppu, and it exceeded all my expectations. We wanted to experience a traditional-style Ryokan, and this was the perfect choice. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that everything was well managed. One of the highlights was the ability to reserve a private bath, which made the experience even more relaxing. The breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm, making it an ideal place to rest and unwind. The location is also convenient—just a 7-10 minute taxi ride from Beppu Station. I highly recommend this Ryokan to anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing stay in Beppu!

GGuest UserThis place seems to be frequented by locals. It seemed like a place where Japanese people come and relax. The lounge opens at 2:30 PM, so I enjoyed the view of Beppu from the 12th floor while enjoying coffee, tea, and desserts. The men's and women's baths rotate daily, but if you're staying, you can use both. The sashimi in the kaiseki was the best. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the pickled side dishes were not salty. However, it was a bit far from the terminal. Beppu Park and Starbucks are nearby, but I didn't use them. Coffee and tea are available at the front desk on the first floor. I used the onsen in the evening and morning, so I didn't use the room shower. The bathroom was a bit small, so tall people might find it uncomfortable. I'm not sure if this varies by room type, but there was no bedside stand, so that would have been nice. The room key had a spoon on it, and check-in was done in the room. It was a new experience.

YYuki UyangaThis spacious accommodation is ideal for a family getaway with several members. It was tidy and cozy, making it a pleasant place to stay with my kids. The highlight was the garden outside and the large windows that let in the morning sun, creating a lovely atmosphere for breakfast while gazing outside. Unfortunately, the hot spring was out of order when we got there, but it appeared to be large enough for two people to enjoy. I was initially concerned that the size of the apartment would make it chilly upon arrival, but the heating system was effective, and the place warmed up quickly.

GGuest UserIt is an old ryokan. The bathroom also needs to be equipped with hot and cold water. The size of the room is satisfactory. It's very cold, but you can control the heater. Although it is a weekend, the price is too expensive and you have to pay a 1000 yen hot spring tax even if you do not use the hot spring when you check out.
