Great location, only a 10-minute walk from Shanghai Station, and super convenient for the subway. It's just three stops to Nanjing Road, and perfect for an evening visit to the Bund. The room was spacious, but the downside was the loud traffic noise from the elevated highway at night – a constant rumble. Also, the shower had two unmarked buttons, so when I turned it on, the overhead shower suddenly blasted water, which was a bit of a shock! As for the bedding, some stains might not have come out in the wash, but they clearly changed the linens. Other than that, the service was really good.

Let's start with the pros:
1️⃣ The location is absolutely unbeatable, right in the city center and super close to the subway station.
2️⃣ The room is a good size; I could open my suitcase fully, and there's a hanging area for clothes.
3️⃣ Besides the individual lockers with password access for everyone, there's also an open storage compartment at the foot of the bed, which is incredibly convenient – no need to constantly dig through your luggage.
4️⃣ Finally, a hostel where you can store your shoes under the bed! Much better than seeing a mess of shoes on the floor as soon as you walk in.
5️⃣ The room has a window, so you don't always have to rely on artificial light, and you can get some fresh air.
6️⃣ There are both squat toilets and Western-style toilets.
7️⃣ There's a vanity area, but it only has five spots.
Now for the cons:
1️⃣ The room faces the street, and the window isn't soundproofed, so the street noise was constant.
2️⃣ There are no power outlets by the bed, only USB and Type-C ports, which charge devices very slowly. The bedside lamp is dim, so I had to use a flashlight after turning off the main lights at night.
3️⃣ The vanity area, restrooms, and shower rooms weren't cleaned promptly. The vanity area was sometimes messy, the toilet paper in the restrooms was hard to pull, and there were often other people's belongings in the shower rooms. Toiletries were also frequently used up and not refilled in a timely manner.
4️⃣ The hallway was cluttered with a lot of miscellaneous items, making it look like they had just opened and didn't know where to put things.
I stayed for four days, and overall, I had a very good experience. The other guests were also friendly and considerate, no loud disturbances or anything. It would just be great if they could work on improving the issues I mentioned!

Excellent location and service! They told me I couldn't store my luggage, but it turned out I could. The room was very spacious and appealing, and the price was reasonable. It's a fantastic place to stay.

The hotel location is very convenient just a short walk to Shanghai railway station (HSR & Metro). You feel really safe as the police station is just in front of the hotel. There's fast food like KFC, McDonald's and some convenience stores nearby.
At night, there were nights that were quiet and the other night a bit noisy because at the front of the hotel there's a parking lot for van deliveries.
The hotel's room is spacious enough for us and it's being cleaned every day. The breakfast is so-so. Breakfast starts at 6.40am-9am.
Overall, we had a nice stay here and will definitely stay here again if ever we'll go back to Shanghai
As a side note. Wear a mask if you hate smoking. Outside the railway station there are a bunch of people smoking here and there.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in all aspects. Apart form excellent location, the service and quality of accommodation was all first class. Polite and helpful staff, clean and comfy room and quiet in the night, what else to wish for. We didn't take photos of the room but is exactly as displayed on website.
We thank you very much and hope to stay here again on our way back to Europe

🌟 Prime Location & Transportation
The location is simply superb! It's right on Guangdong Road, just a few minutes' walk from Nanjing East Road Metro Station. It's super close to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and The Bund, reachable in just a few minutes. Getting around and shopping nearby are incredibly convenient. It's also very close to Yu Garden and People's Square, making your sightseeing routes completely hassle-free.
🧹 Spotlessly Clean & Tidy
The entire place is newly renovated, and the cleanliness is impeccable! Rooms are meticulously cleaned daily, and the beds and bedding are fresh, odor-free, and changed with each new guest. The public washrooms and toilets are dry-wet separated, consistently fresh and odor-free, with every corner neatly maintained. It was truly comfortable to stay in. 💖
🤗 Warm & Attentive Service
The owner and staff are incredibly gentle and patient. Check-in was efficient, and they patiently answered all my questions about sightseeing or luggage storage. Their service was enthusiastic and thorough throughout, creating a wonderfully warm atmosphere without any perfunctory treatment.
🛏️ Complete & Well-Equipped Facilities
The hostel's hardware facilities are new and comprehensive. Each bunk bed has an individual reading light and charging socket, offering great privacy. The public common area is spacious and bright with excellent natural light, perfect for daily storage and relaxation. Essential amenities are well-provided, so you can just bring your bags and move in.
🌉 Super Convenient for Sightseeing
It boasts a prime location in the city center, with core attractions right outside the door! During the day, you can explore Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street for shopping and sightseeing. In the evening, walk to The Bund to enjoy the breathtaking river views and night scenery. It's also not far from Suzhou Creek and Yu Garden, saving you a lot of travel time without long journeys. The geographical location is truly unbeatable.
Overall, my stay experience was perfect. I couldn't find a single fault with the environment, service, facilities, or the proximity to attractions. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Shanghai! I'll definitely choose it again next time! [Smart]

The room was small, but the price was cheap, so it was decent value for money. There were a lot of hairs under the sheets that weren't cleaned, but the sheets themselves were clean. You can check out late, until 2 PM, and the front desk staff was accommodating. It's very close to the scenic spots, right in the city center.

We had a wonderful stay at Ji Hotel People’s Square. The staff was very kind and the room was just perfect, cleand and calm. We found it to be even better than on the pictures. The breakfast is also delicious, it’s chinese food and even though we are from Europe we enjoyed it a lot. The metro is very near, there are so many things you can visit by walk from the hotel as well. 100% recommend!

While the reception area is relatively small, the room itself was a pleasant surprise—spacious, well-designed, and part of a nicely refurbished studio apartment setup. It had a cozy, home-like feel that made the stay especially comfortable and relaxing. The room was also clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall positive experience.
The apartment corridor leading to the room was decent, clean, and well-lit, giving a good sense of safety and upkeep. Another highlight is the location—it’s conveniently situated near East Nanjing Pedestrian Street, with plenty of eateries just downstairs, making dining and exploring very easy.
The only downside would be the toilet, which felt a bit small compared to the rest of the unit. That aside, it’s a great option for those looking for a comfortable, homey stay in a prime and lively area.

Excellent
AAnonymous UserFirst off, the location is great, and the hotel exterior is quite beautiful. However, the room felt smaller than advertised, and most importantly, the hygiene was unacceptable. After checking in, I found two small, crawling bugs on the bedding. I switched rooms, only to find used tissues under the sink from a previous guest. The hotel offered to compensate us with a few days of breakfast from their food truck. Still, cleanliness is paramount, and for this price point, this level of hygiene is truly unacceptable. On the positive side, the staff service was good; they helped with food deliveries and other requests.

Outstanding
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is very convenient for travellers using the metro, as it is located right next to Xinzha Road Exit 5 on Line 1, which made getting around very easy.
We booked the smart room with one queen bed and one single bed for three people, and the room was spacious enough for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was how modern and digital the room felt, with most functions controlled through smart panels.
The room was well equipped with a large TV, washing machine, hair dryer, oven, and a toilet with a bidet and heated seat. The only thing missing was a refrigerator. For ironing, there is a standing garment steamer available on Level 6 near the washer and dryer area. If you need to iron delicate items such as headscarves, it may be better to bring your own iron.
Housekeeping was acceptable overall, though there is room for improvement. During our stay, we noticed that some hair on the floor had not been swept or vacuumed properly, and the table was not always cleaned thoroughly.
Service at the front desk was generally fine. One receptionist we met during check-in spoke English, but not all staff were comfortable communicating in English, so using a translator app was sometimes necessary.
Food delivery was also convenient, with pick-up available next to the reception area. We were told that food can sometimes be delivered directly to the room by robot, although we did not experience this ourselves.
Overall, this hotel is a great option for travellers looking for a modern and convenient stay in a very accessible location, especially if easy metro access is a priority.

AAnonymous UserLocation - 5/5 We were happy to be in this hotel because it is just beside Nanjing road where shopping area is very near. There are a lot of restaurants nearby, Shanghai's First Food Hall is just accross the street and metro station is also 5 mins away.
Cleanliness - 3/5 because since day 1 until the 4th day, the room is never swept... the cleaner just change towels, take off the trash, refill the tissue but never swept/vacuum the floor and changed beddings (i know because my daughter made a stain on the first day... until the last day its still the same bedding we have)and also, they did not give a refill of tea and coffee. They just did when I asked if they give refill.
Service: 3/5 - the receptionist gave me just 1 key card upon check-in. I have to request for another key card because we had hard time going up and down since other members of the family will stay in the room... but when i requested, they obliged right away. My question is, why do the guest have to request for it? We are 5 members in the family and we will be stating for 5 nighta with them... the first rwcwptioniat is aware aince she processed our documents
Amenities: 2/5 - we just used elevator and room thats it.

GGuest UserI really liked the room; it was very clean, comfortable, and quite smart! The location is great, close to Nanjing East Road metro station, specifically Exit 1, and Exit 4 for Line 10 is also very near. You're right by the Bund and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, which is super convenient. There are also tons of great food options nearby. I absolutely loved my stay here and will definitely come back again! The front desk staff, especially the young man, provided excellent service 👍

GGuest UserFirst, the good points: The washing machine and dryer were super convenient, allowing us to wash our clothes during our trip – everything felt clean and tidy! It rained the day we arrived, so we were stuck inside, but the kids had a blast playing house on both floors. It's about a six-minute walk to the metro station, which is decent. The Bund is just a ten-minute walk away, perfect for admiring the historic architecture and the Oriental Pearl Tower, and experiencing the two different worlds along the Huangpu River. If you turn left out of the hotel and walk one block, you'll find a breakfast spot selling buns, porridge, and eggs at market prices. Now for the downsides: Don't expect much in the way of room service or friendly smiles from the staff.

GGuest UserI had a fantastic experience staying at the [Shanghai Yijun Hotel] during my trip to Shanghai! The location is absolutely perfect; the subway entrance is right outside, making it just a few stops to popular spots like Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and Chenghuang Temple. After a long day of sightseeing, it was wonderful to come back to a spotlessly clean room with a meticulously made bed. The front desk staff, especially the ladies, were incredibly friendly and always greeted us with a smile whenever we entered or left. The price was very reasonable, and given the excellent service and cleanliness, it offers truly amazing value for money!

AAlpianiI found the location from Amaps with chinese writing, and then my room is up at 3rd floor, without elevator, for a room with 2 bed (1 bunkbed) is too small, tiny, I can't open my luggage, the heater is from AC directly touch my bed (upper bunk)
So the lower bed is empty but messy, then I took the upper bed, the next say I put my medicine on my bed, I didn't ask my room to be cleaned alright, but they cleaned it anyway, just my bed (the upper bed), the lower bed they didn't tidy it up (maybe they thought I used the lower bed), when I came back to my room my medicine is gone (my upper bed is tidy), I ask the receptionist and they asked the cleaner uncle & aunty but they said they didn't know
I've searched everywhere in my belonging even on trash can, I didn't find it, unfortunately though
