Hotels in People's Square Area, Shanghai

Great location, only a 10-minute walk from Shanghai Station, and super convenient for the subway. It's just three stops to Nanjing Road, and perfect for an evening visit to the Bund. The room was spacious, but the downside was the loud traffic noise from the elevated highway at night – a constant rumble. Also, the shower had two unmarked buttons, so when I turned it on, the overhead shower suddenly blasted water, which was a bit of a shock! As for the bedding, some stains might not have come out in the wash, but they clearly changed the linens. Other than that, the service was really good.

This was actually one of the better Hostels in Shanghai I stayed it. Bright window and fresh air in the sleep room, 2 4/7 service so I checked in at night. Location is superb, the street around the corner offers many local breakfast items and just another street further is the Nanjing Dong Lu and Bund. So kinda calm neighbourhood right next to the Bund. I also liked the co work area, water and coffee machine.

Excellent location and service! They told me I couldn't store my luggage, but it turned out I could. The room was very spacious and appealing, and the price was reasonable. It's a fantastic place to stay.

The hotel location is very convenient just a short walk to Shanghai railway station (HSR & Metro). You feel really safe as the police station is just in front of the hotel. There's fast food like KFC, McDonald's and some convenience stores nearby. At night, there were nights that were quiet and the other night a bit noisy because at the front of the hotel there's a parking lot for van deliveries. The hotel's room is spacious enough for us and it's being cleaned every day. The breakfast is so-so. Breakfast starts at 6.40am-9am. Overall, we had a nice stay here and will definitely stay here again if ever we'll go back to Shanghai As a side note. Wear a mask if you hate smoking. Outside the railway station there are a bunch of people smoking here and there.

We had a really wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The hotel environment was excellent and relaxing. What impressed us the most was the thoughtful service. The hotel provides convenient shuttle transfers to and from Disneyland, which made the trip so much easier for families. After returning late from Disneyland at around 11pm, the hotel even prepared a warm bowl of noodles for guests to enjoy — such a caring and heartwarming gesture 😊 The front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful, and they even gave small gifts to the kids, which was a lovely surprise. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices for everyone. Overall, everything from the service, cleanliness, facilities, and hospitality was excellent. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Shanghai Disneyland! ❤️

This hostel is just over a ten-minute walk from Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, including a century-old establishment. The hostel staff are quick to resolve issues, and even though there are quite a few guests, the atmosphere is great and very quiet. My only wish is that the rooms had windows for ventilation, but overall, it's a good place.

The room was small, but the price was cheap, so it was decent value for money. There were a lot of hairs under the sheets that weren't cleaned, but the sheets themselves were clean. You can check out late, until 2 PM, and the front desk staff was accommodating. It's very close to the scenic spots, right in the city center.

Cons: Frankly, this particular Ji Hotel, despite not offering birthday celebrations or room decor, being unresponsive to Trip.com messages, requiring guests to fetch their own Taobao deliveries, and lacking a gym, still boasts numerous advantages! Pros: For instance, the breakfast is delicious, the bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable, a humidifier is provided, and there's free laundry and drying service. The room is exceptionally spacious. We were able to open two 28-inch suitcases plus several smaller bags and still had plenty of room to walk around! Most importantly, the location is incredibly convenient! Picture yourself staying in the equivalent of 🇲🇾 KL's Bukit Bintang golden triangle. Yu Garden, shopping districts, and the high-speed rail station are all within a 10-minute reach. New World City is directly opposite, Nanjing Pedestrian Street is just behind, and The Bund is also nearby. Iconic Wukang Road and Gong Yan are roughly 10 minutes away. I could even walk or jog directly from Nanjing East Road to The Bund (Peace Hotel area) and take in the magnificent view of the Oriental Pearl Tower along the riverfront ✨ The famous International Butterfly Pastry shop is also just around the corner! I can genuinely say that almost every major attraction is close to this hotel. Furthermore, the air conditioning is very efficient, the shower has excellent water pressure, and the toilet seat is heated. Crucially, the room itself is genuinely large and very comfortable! The staff are also incredibly courteous. The housekeeping aunties, in particular, always smile, greet guests, and are proactive in their warm interactions ❤️

The location is super convenient, really close to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The room was clean and tidy. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. I also liked that they had a gym and laundry room. I'd definitely stay here again!

While the reception area is relatively small, the room itself was a pleasant surprise—spacious, well-designed, and part of a nicely refurbished studio apartment setup. It had a cozy, home-like feel that made the stay especially comfortable and relaxing. The room was also clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall positive experience. The apartment corridor leading to the room was decent, clean, and well-lit, giving a good sense of safety and upkeep. Another highlight is the location—it’s conveniently situated near East Nanjing Pedestrian Street, with plenty of eateries just downstairs, making dining and exploring very easy. The only downside would be the toilet, which felt a bit small compared to the rest of the unit. That aside, it’s a great option for those looking for a comfortable, homey stay in a prime and lively area.
