"I saw reviews mentioning it was an older hotel before I went, so I was a bit worried about outdated facilities. However, after checking in, I found it to be quite good! While some furniture and wallpaper definitely show their age, I think it's acceptable. You can tell from the pictures that the hotel has a good aesthetic, and they've clearly put in time and effort to maintain it well. The front desk service during check-in was just right – very friendly but not overly enthusiastic. I got an upgraded room thanks to my Trip.com benefits, and they even reminded me that I could get discount coupons at the Japanese restaurant on the third floor. The hotel's swimming pool is very well-maintained! The water quality is excellent. Probably because the shallowest part is 1.7 meters deep, everyone there is actually serious about swimming! It's fantastic!!! Big thumbs up! The only slight disappointment was that there are quite a few foreign guests at the hotel. Despite clear signs in both Chinese and English, with large notices on the door to the hot spring area stating no electronic devices are allowed, I still encountered a foreigner doing exactly that. I immediately spoke up. From her reaction, it didn't seem like she was unaware. I hope the hotel can strengthen its management; these rules shouldn't only apply to obedient local guests, otherwise, it's really quite unsafe. Perhaps they could add an extra reminder during check-in and when getting keys for the changing room. They shouldn't avoid saying anything due to language barriers or fear of trouble (after all, every time I went to get the changing room key, I was reminded of the closing time)."

"Although this is an older five-star hotel, my impression was that it would be lavish but with outdated facilities. However, this hotel has kept up with the times. The hairdryer was upgraded to a Laifen, which works wonderfully, and the toilet is a smart Panasonic model. There's a smart alarm clock by the bed with a night light, wireless charging, and a radio. In terms of service, they upgraded our room type and even helped us secure a reservation for the Hong Kong-style buffet when it was fully booked. If I had to pick one downside, it would probably be that the hotel has too many rooms. It was fully booked during our entire stay, and we had to queue for breakfast every day. As three families traveling together, we couldn't sit together for breakfast even once."

The transportation network is excellent, making it very easy whether you're driving or taking a taxi. It's highly efficient for travel and perfectly suited for family trips and short getaways. What left the deepest impression during my stay was the meticulous service from the concierge department. The service was attentive, proactive, and down-to-earth, completely devoid of a rigid, procedural feel. The concierge team was enthusiastic and thoughtful throughout; they greeted us proactively and assisted promptly whenever we entered or exited. They were very considerate when helping with luggage and guiding us with directions. As we were traveling by car, the staff provided attentive guidance throughout, actively helped transfer our luggage, and directed us straight to the exclusive elevator for the underground parking garage. This was incredibly helpful for travelers with elderly family members and children. For daily travel inquiries, sightseeing routes, and recommendations for local food, the concierge staff were patient and detailed in their answers, offering very practical local advice that saved us a lot of unnecessary detours during our trip. The overall service attitude was sincere and responsive; you could feel the professionalism and dedication in every detail. The entire stay was incredibly comfortable, with a prime location and attentive, detailed service. The overall ambiance and experience were top-notch. I genuinely feel that this hotel's service lives up to five-star quality and is an excellent choice for accommodation when visiting Dalian. I will definitely choose to stay here again without hesitation on my next trip to Dalian!"

"I previously booked a guesthouse that wasn't cheap, but the environment turned out to be quite bad. So I decided to stick with a reliable brand hotel and chose InterContinental. The environment was bright and clean, and the staff were warm and attentive. A senior gentleman at the lobby handling luggage was particularly helpful, always ready to answer questions without hesitation. Also, Riley from customer service was enthusiastic and responsive. I'll definitely choose InterContinental again if I have the chance next time."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right opposite Happy Beach Gate 4, and within walking distance of Discovery Kingdom. Upon check-in, the front desk upgraded us to a sea-view room, which I really appreciated. However, I can't give a good rating for a few reasons: 1. As soon as we got to the room, I called the front desk for children's slippers and toothbrushes. After waiting half an hour with no delivery, I ended up getting them from a housekeeping staff member in the hallway. 2. In the afternoon, I called the front desk for disposable cups. Again, after waiting half an hour, they still hadn't arrived. I had to call again to follow up before they finally sent a robot to deliver them. We then left the room, and when we returned in the evening, we found two disposable cups sitting on the floor outside our door! Isn't putting paper cups on the floor unhygienic? 3. The hotel advertises free sand-digging tools. We stayed for two nights, and every time we went to get tools, they were either unavailable or broken! 4. Our room on the fifth floor wasn't particularly noisy, but as soon as you stepped out of the elevator, the hallway had an odd smell that I couldn't quite place. The bedding also felt damp, making for an uncomfortable stay. For a Trip.com 5-diamond hotel with such a prime location, this was truly disappointing. It seems you really do get what you pay for!"

"Our first stop in Dalian was this Holiday Inn, and it was an excellent experience. Our flight was delayed, and we didn't arrive until the early hours of the morning, but the staff member in black was incredibly attentive. Despite the late hour, they patiently helped us with check-in, explained all the facilities, and even offered to carry our luggage to the room. We were a family of three, and even though our room originally included breakfast for two, the hotel kindly added a third complimentary breakfast every day, which was a thoughtful touch. The room was clean and tidy, the hotel grounds were spacious, and it was convenient to get to the beach. As an international chain, Holiday Inn consistently delivers on quality, and I highly recommend it."

"The May Day holiday was particularly chaotic. I don't accept the argument that there were too many people and the operation capacity was insufficient. We paid a higher room rate than usual, but the service was still inadequate. The hotel cooperated with the arrival of the Dalian tourist season in this way, and sent a message to outsiders. Local customers should avoid thunder~ Secondly, there are no children's toiletries and bathrobes in the whole hotel. When asked by the front desk, there are only slippers. They said that our room is for three adults. We booked a courtyard family room. No matter what room it is, does it have anything to do with my need for children's toiletries? Later, the front desk said impatiently that there are no children's toiletries, only slippers. The courtyard family room has no refrigerator. Later, a very dirty one was moved in. There are only two patio umbrellas, which are random. Hehehe, the hotel also has no tea bags, coffee bags, etc. There are no mugs. The mouthwash cup is wet when you check in, not dry. I don't know if it has not been changed at all. The hand soap is also not packaged. It has not been changed at all. Later, the room we changed to, the soap has plastic packaging, and the nozzle cannot be adjusted... It is very inconvenient to use~ Secondly, we changed to room 1506... There are no towels and hand towels~ The children's playground charges an additional 30 yuan. There are very few things. There is no takeaway food around the hotel. You can only eat at the hotel. Ctrip said that the hotel could not give us a discount for booking (the child did not leave and had to stay for one day). But Ctrip refunded us 390 in cash and apologized. The hotel did not apologize at all. By the way, the hotel said that they would apply for a price of 800 for renewal. Then I went to the official website and saw that it was only 798. "It is far from the city, suitable for self-driving. If you don't drive, the transportation is inconvenient and you can only wait for the shuttle bus time. The shuttle bus is 30 yuan/person for round trip. You get on the bus at May Day Square. You need to contact in advance. The environment in the hotel is good, the hot spring is good, and the open-air hot spring is a feature. The breakfast is OK, and the lunch buffet is not cost-effective. It is best to bring some food by yourself. The small clip worn by the elderly accidentally fell off. The beautiful waitress of the hotel took two off her head and gave them to us. Later, the staff helped us find it in the hot spring area. I was very touched. Overall good reviews."
