"I booked a lake-view room, but at first, the front desk gave me a garden-view room with only a tiny glimpse of the lake on the left. After some discussion, they finally switched my room. Later, after my bath, I noticed that several rooms with better views were just getting occupied, so it really shows you have to advocate for yourself. After the room change, the scenery was fantastic, directly facing Mount Fuji, absolutely stunning. The breakfast selection was also rich. The only downside is that transportation is a bit inconvenient; there aren't many shuttle buses, and public transport services are limited."

"An absolutely perfect onsen and kaiseki experience! This is definitely a hotel I'd love to revisit. Upon check-in, they offered hot towels and snacks while I filled out the forms, which was such a warm gesture. The lobby boasts an unbeatable mountain view outside the windows. The interiors are elegant and understated. Every dish was exquisite. The Japanese breakfast, in particular, was the most elaborate I've ever had, with over 10 items including various small dishes, steamed egg, tofu, sashimi, seasoned rice, a seafood hot pot, yogurt, nuts, and fruit. You can choose between Japanese or Western breakfast. I'm so glad I picked the Japanese option. Both dinner and breakfast were served by the same intern, who was incredibly friendly, polite, and patiently explained each dish. She even left a thank you note when I checked out – so sweet!"

"We got an upgraded room, a 30-square-meter one, with the option to shower in the room or at the hot springs. The public hot spring baths are divided into indoor and outdoor sections. The buffet was just okay. Check-in starts at 3 PM, so if you arrive early, you just get a number and wait. Many Japanese families with children were there, so it seems to be a family-friendly hotel. There's a shuttle bus, which should be convenient. We drove, and the parking lot is quite spacious."

"Lovely place we stayed at! It was perfect for our family of 4! There was a nice footbath. There is a toilet for anyone wondering and 4 western style single/twin size beds. The place was decorated well and we loved the style of it! We're really sad we didn't get to stay longer. There is a major hill in front of the hotel but it wasn't a problem since we got a taxi. Though they are a bit hard to come by. The facilities were lovely, we enjoyed the Onsen and the massage chairs. Dinner was also delicious and breakfast was continental style."

"Excellent hotel. The staff was wonderful. They explained everything, showed us around, and explained how to put it on. They gave us yukata and explained how to put them on. We were treated to dinner, a million plates of various Japanese-style delicacies, and breakfast, fewer plates and also delicious. Most people are probably wondering about tattoos; the instructions say they aren't allowed in the public, free onsen, which, by the way, are divided into men's and women's. In the private ones, we had no problems."

The hotel is conveniently located a short 1km drive from Hakone-Yumoto Station. With multiple attractions nearby including Ring Waterfall, Cobbled Road at Sarusawa and Tamadareno Falls, guests will find plenty to keep themselves occupied. When it comes to Hakone hotels, the Tenseien is highly regarded for its excellent facilities. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"Absolutely love this place! The staff are very friendly, and the onsen is clean and well-maintained. There are 3 outdoor pools and 2 indoor pools, along with a steam room and sauna, which make for a relaxing experience. The facility is open for both day trips and overnight stays, but staying overnight is much better for a more chill and leisurely time. There’s a massage chair available, but it requires payment. Breakfast is also delicious and definitely worth it. The only downside is the location—it’s not very convenient and requires some walking. If you’re traveling light, it’s manageable. They do have a payable shuttle bus, but the timing isn’t great. Walking can be pleasant if the weather’s nice, or you can opt for a taxi. Overall, I’ll definitely book this place again for the relaxing atmosphere!"

"This charming inn is a hidden gem nestled in the forest, just a stone's throw from the Hakone Garasu no Mori Museum. Surrounded by nature, it was a true luxury to experience both the peaceful ambiance at night and the refreshing morning views. I arrived a bit late and unfortunately missed the welcome drink, but it sounds like guests who check in earlier can enjoy it. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary coffee and tea available for guests at the cafe, perfect for a little break. The hot springs were wonderfully relaxing, and the in-room amenities were all thoughtfully chosen and stylish. Every small detail made me feel incredibly glad I chose this place, ensuring a truly relaxing stay. The breakfast buffet was absolutely captivating, with so many delicious options it was hard to choose! There was an impressive array of dishes, many of which aren't typically found in everyday meals, making it easy to overindulge. It definitely set a happy tone for the whole day. From my room window, I had a beautiful view of the autumn leaves, which were absolutely stunning. I'd love to visit again in autumn to enjoy the seasonal scenery."

"The refrigerator in the room was very dirty. I felt sick after opening it and closed it immediately, so I don't know if it was dust or mold, but I think it would be a good idea to clean the inside of the refrigerator as well. The teapot that was placed right above the refrigerator also had tea leaves and water left on it, so I thought it might not have been washed, and I couldn't use it. Also, at dinner, a foreign staff member took my tea utensils without asking me. I wanted to drink tea after the hot spring, but I wish they had asked me before taking it down. Also, when I left, I didn't close the door, so I stood up and closed it myself. Other than the above three points, the hot spring facilities and the person who guided me to my room were very kind, so I had no complaints."

With a stay at Tenseien Odawara Station Annex in Odawara, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and Harune Odawara. Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as hot springs, or other amenities including a banquet hall and a vending machine. At Tenseien Odawara Station Annex, enjoy a satisfying meal at the restaurant. Buffet breakfasts are available daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM for a fee. "The hotel is incredibly convenient, located directly within the Odawara Station complex, although it can be a little tricky to find for first-timers. From Odawara Station's East Exit (stay within the station building), take a short escalator down. You'll spot the Lusca mall on your right. Upon entering, Marugame Udon is on your left, and Seijo Ishii supermarket is directly opposite. Walk past Marugame, turn left to exit the mall, then turn right onto a glass-enclosed walkway outside. Continue straight, passing a parking lot on your right. Keep going until you see the hotel's directional sign (like the one in the last photo). Take the escalator up to the 4th floor, where you'll find the hotel lobby. We stayed in a Double B room, which was relatively spacious and well-suited for a family of three. This particular room type, which we only saw listed on Ctrip, was excellent. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation but no bathtub. However, the public bath on the 10th floor was very comfortable (remember to bring your own towel!). There's also a foot bath on the 14th floor offering scenic views. If daily cleaning is desired, simply place the 'clean my room' sign outside your door, and fresh towels and yukata will be provided. Even if you forget the sign, they thoughtfully leave fresh yukata and towels at your door – a really nice touch. I appreciated this considerate service that respected our privacy. The bedding was comfortable, and individually packaged facial cleanser, makeup remover, and body lotion were replenished daily. Odawara is a wonderful city, and this hotel's location makes it extremely convenient for visiting Hakone, Atami, and Kamakura. I would love to visit again and would definitely choose this hotel for my next stay. The only minor downsides were the slight train noise (though I still slept very well during my three-night stay) and the slightly stiff toothbrush provided."

WWuyuehaixiangwaneryaThis hotel far exceeded our expectations! It was unanimously praised by my travel companions during this trip. It just goes to show that you get what you pay for. It's only about 100-200 meters from Gora Station for the Hakone Tozan Railway, and there's a bus stop right outside the hotel that goes to Gotemba Premium Outlets. This made transferring transportation so easy, without having to drag our luggage too far, and it was punctual and convenient. Everyone, when you get to Hakone-Yumoto Station, remember to absolutely send your luggage ahead at the station. It's only 1000 yen per person for large luggage. We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, and our bags were already in our room. This service is incredibly thoughtful and human-centric. The nearby gyoza restaurant was quite good. If you haven't booked dinner, you can give it a try. I highly recommend the kimchi gyoza soup. Breakfast was a standard buffet, with both Japanese and Western options, and a good variety to choose from. The private onsen required a wait, so we only experienced the public bath. Perhaps because it was a weekday evening, there was no one else there, so it practically felt like we had the place to ourselves.

AANASTASIIA_BERDNIKOVAThis hotel is a paradise in the mountains of Hakone! Traditional style of the rooms - it feels like you are living in a Japanese family. We were prepared a traditional dinner, which was served in our room. It was very tasty and varied! The hotel has 3 onsen: 2 - private, 1 - public. We visited only the private ones (you need to book a time in advance at the reception upon check-in, the visit time is 30 minutes). It was wonderful! The hotel also provides a transfer from and to the nearest train stations. The rooms are clean, cozy, we slept on tatami under soft blankets. The hotel has a relax room. With massage chairs and a very quiet atmosphere. We stayed in this room after visiting the onsen and got great relaxation. And you are also given national clothes for rest and sleep. It is very beautiful and cute. Breakfasts were also in kaiseki style - varied and unusual. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. this hotel allows tattoo baths. great experience, thank you very much! want to come back again!

GGuest UserThis ryokan is perfect for people who want to experience ryokan for the first time but want something cheaper within Hakone area. Situated on the main road with buses to Owakudani and train to Odawara. I'd recommend catching the bus from Odawara to this ryokan since the walking trail from the closest station to this place is hilly and has lots of stairs. Main road is not very luggage friendly so pack very light when you're staying here. This place has very nice rooms with view to the river behind it. The view is spectacular when the entire river area is covered in red autumn leaves. Dinner and breakfast are very delicious, you will be served a range of traditional food from a la carte to dessert. You can also book your private indoor onsen FOR FREE. The ryokan also has an open outdoor onsen across the bridge for 3000 JPY. The only downside of this place is the main road is very busy as it's the only way for people to drive from Odawara to Owakudani. So local people take this road to get to Owakudani. Buses from this place will not stop at there in the weekend. Your best plan is to go to Lake Ashi first and take the opposite route to Owakudani instead. Plan your trip in this area very carefully because a bus trip that would take 10-15 minutes will end up taking you 1 to 1.5 hours.

ZZunetOur trip so great! They provide everything for you including snacks and fresh set of pajamas every day. The included breakfast and dinner were marvelous as well. The public onsens were awesome. You just need to find a time to go when there are not too many people. We had our dinner during the second shift (at 8pm) so we went to the onsen first, showered, and then went to dinner, which worked out perfectly. The hotel is right next to the train station so it’s very convenient. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserBooked with private onsen - best part of the hotel! The public onsen was never busy when we went and perfectly enjoyable. The nearby one that guests have access too offers more onsen options and is worth the 3 minute walk over. As others say, the buffet isn’t great. Most food is cold - so pick options you expect to be so (sushi etc) for the best option. The service was very good and the staff very helpful and friendly.

HHelen MaryGreat place to stay in tranquil beautiful surroundings and if you're lucky a view of Mt Fuji. Was easy to get to (bus J from Odawara station (expected 50 minutes but took over an hour due to traffic jams near ropeway late morning time).. Short easy 5 minute walk from bus stop to hotel (ignore other reviews). We had a Japanese style room for two. Plenty of space and great view of Fuji from the room. The bathrooms are clean and perfectly fine but a bit dated. However not a problem. The onsen experience felt very traditional and really enjoyed it. I'm vegetarian and there were quite a few options in the buffet (breakfast and dinner) which was appreciated . When we left we used the great hotel shuttle to drop us at Minami Onsenso where we picked up the T bus to take us back to Odawara train station (about 50 minutes around 10am). The staff at hotel were super helpful and overall it was a great, relaxing stay.

AAnonymous UserWe booked a hot spring hotel on short notice and were very satisfied with it. We arrived early and could not check in until after 3:30 pm, but fortunately we could leave our luggage at the hotel. The staff helped us make the bed when we were having dinner in the evening. There was a rich variety of dinner, but we didn’t really like the side dishes. It would have been better if the side dishes were replaced with sashimi. We even had a surprise dessert after the meal, which made us very happy. The breakfast the next day was also very filling and delicious. The experience is very good and recommended for staying.

GGuest UserThe main courtyard of this hotel is very upscale and only accommodates top-notch guests who can afford a butler. We stayed in the old building in the hotel's side courtyard, the one with the big words ”Fairyland” hanging on it. The room was large, clean and quiet. But there is no elevator, so you have to climb four floors. Customers with large suitcases should order with caution.
