"We stayed for two nights and the view from the room is stunning. The tibetan-styled decoration is amazing and makes all the difference, but there were also a few downsides which I have to mention. - For someone that does not speak Chinese, it is very hard to find. So we will write here how we did: from Tagong we took a shared vehicle to Bamei. From there, we took another shared vechicle to Danba, and from Danba, there are rural shared vehicles that will take you to Jiaju. I attach the image of the road sign where you need to get off. There is an entry fee to Jiaju town. - Regarding this rural vehicle, comes the biggest disappointment of our stay, as we asked the owner of the hotel to call a vehicle for us (there is no other way to leave) and he replied “you can look for yourself and if you cannot find one, I will help you”… without a Chinese phone number and without speaking Chinese, it is impossible to call a local driver. So we mentioned this, and he called one driver. When we asked how much we should pay, he say 50 yuan for two people, same as he told us to pay on the way here, but his wife was there and got very angry at him because the real price was 15 yuan per person, and he was part of the rip off. The lady was very friendly and helpful, on the other side, so we want to thank her for her help as she tried to help us. Despite this, we still reccommend you to come as it is a beautiful place and there are walking paths that you can use to walk everywhere in town. The shared toilet was not a problem, hot water works well."

"The service was wonderful, the location couldn’t be better, and the view from our river-side room was absolutely breathtaking. There were a couple of oddities—like having to ask for soap and no towels provided (only a bunch of paper towels and condoms were available, which was confusing). However, the hotel turned out to be great despite my initial reservations. A few nice surprises made up for it: the packed breakfast and the cute keyring at checkout was a thoughtful touch. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Plus, it was easy to arrange shared onward transport right outside the hotel."

"I had the most amazing stay during my time in China! Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed with blessings from the grandmother and a cup of fresh milk. They even upgraded my room without me asking. Since I had limited time in town, I asked the host to guide me—and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful days of my entire trip. He brought me to stunning scenic spots, temples, and towers, and we shared an unforgettable dinner. The entire family was incredibly kind and made sure I felt at home every moment. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The location is perfect—close to the bus station and surrounded by great restaurants. Don’t miss the chance to join the locals dancing in the square nearby! I couldn’t recommend this place more. Truly an experience to remember."

"It was a rather unexpected B&B. The owner directly upgraded the room to a starry sky terrace room. The boss is simple and honest. Since it is the off-season and there is only our family there, he said the place is empty anyway. The location is excellent, overlooking the entire ******* village, the yard is full of flowers, and parking is available. There are also a few cats, very cute"

"The host and his family were incredibly kind. They helped us carry our car full of luggage upstairs. They're pet-friendly; we brought our cat with us for free, and the hostess looked at it lovingly. The hostess's dog wasn't shy at all, even lying on the floor with its belly exposed. The room was spotless; the mother wiped the floor with a tissue, leaving no dirt. What a kind family! I wish you all the best!"

"Located probably in the best spot in Jiaju Village, in a recently renewed building with over 200 years of history, what makes this place especial is the generosity and charm of its owners. I'm traveling solo around China, and they made me feel like home from the very first time. I highly recommend this cozy hotel, first of all for the great people who works here, but also because it's clean and very cozy, and being located on the top of the mountain has amazing views over the valley looking at the mighty Yala Mountain. One of the best places I've been!"

It's immediately clear that the owner has poured their heart into running it. Speaking of facilities, the hotel features a charming courtyard. It's beautifully elegant, brimming with fresh flowers and succulents, creating an enchanting and tranquil environment perfect for a peaceful night's sleep. Adding to its unique charm, the courtyard houses an ancient watchtower alongside a Tibetan-style building, giving the hotel a profound sense of history and cultural heritage. The hotel offers two room styles: one is traditionally *******, rich in local aesthetics, and the other is modern, sleek, and contemporary. Our modern room was not only spacious and beautifully designed but also featured a balcony. What truly excited us was witnessing a wild pheasant and its chicks strolling on the balcony late one night – a truly unforgettable moment! I must also commend the hotel's kitchen; it's incredibly spacious and, more importantly, impeccably clean and tidy. I even felt compelled to take a photo! On the service front, the owner's family was incredibly warm and hospitable, providing impeccable service. We arrived at 9:40 PM last night, and the owner was already waiting for us at the entrance, helped us park, and even kindly upgraded both of our rooms. Despite our late arrival, the owner's wife prepared a delicious meal for us. Her cooking was absolutely superb and very reasonably priced – truly great value for money! Today at lunch, she even specially made us a complimentary bowl of spicy noodles. It was not only free but also incredibly delicious; we finished every last bite! In summary, our entire family was exceptionally pleased with our stay at the Jipo Shangmo Hotel. Should we have the opportunity to visit Danba County again, we would undoubtedly choose this hotel once more."
