"We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel for families. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with enough space for parents and children to relax after a full day of sightseeing. The beds were very comfortable, and the housekeeping team kept everything spotless throughout our stay. One of the highlights of our stay was the cleaning staff. They were incredibly helpful, friendly, and always greeted us with a warm smile. Their attention to detail and willingness to assist with any requests made us feel genuinely welcome and added a personal touch to our experience. The front desk staff were also warm, professional, and always willing to help. They made check-in smooth and were happy to answer our questions and offer local recommendations. The hotel’s location was excellent, with easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and major attractions, making it very convenient to explore the area with kids. The breakfast offered a good variety of options, including choices suitable for children, and the dining area was comfortable and well organized. What impressed us most was how family-friendly the hotel felt. The atmosphere was welcoming, the facilities were well maintained, and we always felt safe and comfortable. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. It provided great value for money, and we would definitely choose to stay here again on our next family trip."

"I’m so glad I chose the Mehood Elegant Hotel. It was the perfect location — close to everything, not too crowded, yet not too remote either. I traveled solo with my 14-month-old toddler, and he was absolutely spoiled by all the hotel staff. Everyone treated us with so much kindness and care. Jerry checked us in and out and even gave me a cute fridge magnet. The breakfast was delicious with so many options to choose from, the rooms were cleaned daily, and bottled water was always replenished. Xiao Jun also took great care of us, and Yinhe Juan felt like an auntie to us. We looked forward to seeing them every morning at breakfast. They all made my stay feel so warm and welcoming — truly like a home away from home. I’m incredibly grateful for their hospitality, and if I ever find myself back in Shanghai again, I’ll definitely be booking Mehood. PS: the view from my room was incredible!"

Hotel near Lujiazui Area,Shanghai
Located amidst the space-age lights and towers of Shanghai's stunning Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone, the Pudong Shangri-La offers spectacular views of the Huangpu River, the historic Bund and the surrounding Pudong skyline. The Pudong Shangri-La's two towers offer almost 1,000 deluxe rooms and suites, many of which feature floor-to-ceiling windows that highlight the incredible views and state-of-the-art flat-screen TV entertainment centers for indoor viewing. The Grand Tower epitomizes luxury living, providing outstandingly luxurious and spacious accommodation. The classic River Wing fuses old world elegance with Oriental touches to evoke a cosy and relaxed ambience. The hotel is also home to the Horizon Club, which offers the discerning traveler a higher level of comfort, attention and personalized service. The Shangri-La's dining options are equally luxurious. The 36th floor restaurant, Jade on 36, provides a feast for the eyes as well as the palate, serving up fine French cuisine framed against the Bund views and the-future-is-now panorama. Yi Café earns high marks for its international gourmet buffet and it's thirteen open-view kitchens; Cantonese (Grand Boat), YISEA (Japanese) and Chinese (Gui Hua Lou) cuisines are all on offer. Two fully equipped, state-of-the-art fitness centers boast a gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis court, sauna and steam bath. The large and luxurious Chi, The Spa offers comfortable place to indulge in some restorative therapy—for luxury accommodation on the Pudong side of the Huangpu, the Shangri-La is hard to beat.

"This summer, I took my grandson on a magical journey to Shanghai Disneyland, and as always, we chose the Grand Tower at Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai. It's always been my 'white moonlight' hotel, irreplaceable in my heart. As a classic Shanghai landmark hotel, its overall standard is consistently high. The environment, room facilities, service, and dining all offer a commendable comprehensive experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet had a surprising variety of options. My only slight regret is that the cream cakes, sashimi, and smoked salmon, which used to be available at breakfast, are no longer offered. I assume this might be due to menu adjustments. On the evening of our arrival, the temperature was quite high, and we checked in rather late. Front desk staff members Ella and Leia were warm and friendly, making us feel very comfortable. A special thank you to Ella, who carefully directed us towards the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Super Brand Mall, and also thoroughly explained the hotel's dining arrangements. Her service was comprehensive and thoughtful. I sincerely thank the hotel team for the excellent experience, and I look forward to continuing to encounter Shangri-La in various cities in the future!"

Hotel near The Bund Area,Shanghai
The Shanghai Bund Puya Hotel is located on Beijing East Road, next to the Suzhou River, and offers breathtaking views of the Shanghai Bund. The hotel is within walking distance to famous Shanghai landmarks such as the Bund, Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street, Lujiazui, Xintiandi, People's Square, and Yu Garden; Adjacent to the No. 2 and No. 10 subway lines, it is convenient to enter and exit, enjoying the prosperity. The hotel has a total of 18 floors, with more than 100 luxury rooms and suites. The excellent viewing angle in the room will never miss the wonderful difference between the day and night of the Bund. Adhering to the aesthetic concept of "one city, one painting" of Puyan, the hotel creates a space that combines oriental charm and modern consciousness, perfectly presenting the Haishui culture of the Bund that has been passed down for a hundred years - modern and nostalgic, modern and retro. In this old ten-mile foreign land, today's financial hub, Puyan uses modern brushstrokes to meticulously depict the details of the iterations of time: the wonderful continuation of local traditional shapes, the exquisite carving of details, and the elegance of the East. The harmonious coexistence of the overall tone of light and dark, the minimalist art of extended lines, and the compatibility with modern rhythm. All kinds of ingenious designs create a subtle balance between modern and traditional, just like the cultural context of old Shanghai, which is both inclusive and accommodating.24-hour fitness center to keep you in shape at any time; The 18th-floor sky restaurant offers unobstructed views, allowing you to enjoy the dazzling night view of the Bund; The Chinese-style specialty restaurant interprets the authentic Shanghai local cuisine, and the star chefs skillfully prepare it, bringing a rich taste experience. The Shanghai Bund Puya Hotel offers guests a comfortable and dignified stay, as well as a cultural and artistic atmosphere, allowing guests to feel the pulse of the city and enjoy the unique charm of Shanghai's Bund.

"I had an incredible stay at this hotel, and the overall experience was absolutely wonderful. First of all, the hotel enjoys an unbeatable and prime location in Shanghai. [爱心]The transportation here is extremely convenient, allowing easy access to major scenic spots, shopping areas and city landmarks. It saves plenty of traveling time, which is perfect for tourists exploring the city. The highlight of my stay was definitely the stunning room view. From the room window, I could directly overlook the magnificent Huangpu River and the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower. The daytime scenery is bright and pleasant, while the night view is breathtaking and spectacular. As the city lights turn on at dusk, the entire riverside and tower are illuminated with gorgeous neon lights. The shimmering river water matches the brilliant city skyline, creating a dreamy and luxurious urban night scene. Watching the beautiful night view quietly in the room was extremely relaxing and healing. The panoramic view brings a fantastic visual enjoyment that perfectly represents the charm of Shanghai. Thanks to the superior location and amazing river view, this stay was unforgettable and worthwhile. I highly recommend this hotel for travelers who want to enjoy the best Shanghai night scenery."

Le Chanleur All-Day Dining on the 5th floor offers all-day dining. L'Orchestre Lounge bar on the first floor is the perfect place to relax with wine, views and afternoon tea. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Hailun subway station (Line 4 & 10). Walking distance to The Bund, about 10-minutes ride to the Oriental Pearl Tower, Nanjing Road(E) pedestrian street, the People Squared, Yu Garden, Xintiandi and many famous tourist attractions.

"#Room# The guy who checked me in upgraded my room type. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and the bedding was comfortable. #Service# The response time was quite prompt. If you order takeout at night, remember to call the front desk after receiving the delivery notification from the delivery driver, so the hotel can bring it up to your room promptly. #Location# This is the closest hotel to the First People's Hospital (a 5-minute walk). The inpatient building is so crowded, and private rooms are a resource ordinary people can't get. So this place is quite suitable as a temporary resting stop. #Other# We initially booked for two nights and then extended for another night. The front desk, considering it was typhoon season and ordering takeout would be difficult, thoughtfully provided two complimentary breakfasts, which was a very warm gesture."

Hotel near Lujiazui Area,Shanghai
The Mandarin Oriental Pudong Shanghai (Shanghai Pudong Wenhua Dongfang Jiudian) is strategically located in the center of Lujiazui Financial Area, overlooking Shanghai's Huangpu River, just a few steps away from several popular attractions such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jin Mao, and the World Financial Center. The nearby Lujiazui Station Metro Line 2 connects you to the rest of Shanghai. The hotel offers 210 comfortable and well-designed guest rooms and suites. Other amenities include a private spa and skin care rooms, high-end meeting rooms and a banquet hall.

"This was my second time at Pudong MO, and the service was even better than the last. I had noted in advance that it was for a birthday celebration, and the birthday person absolutely loved the surprise decorations in the room. I also received warm wishes during check-in, which was a lovely touch. We happened to arrive during a typhoon, and a staff member thoughtfully informed us of the estimated time the typhoon would make landfall as we went upstairs. When we returned in the evening, we saw that the lobby was already being prepped for flood prevention. Even though the hotel has been open for a while, the external glass provides excellent sound insulation; even on a high floor with a river view, we couldn't tell there was a typhoon raging outside. The food was surprisingly good; the spicy pork noodles had excellent quality noodles, and the service was impeccable. It's a shame we missed the buffet this time, but I'll definitely try it on my next visit. I understand that high-floor rooms can sometimes have low water pressure in the shower, but it was promptly fixed. A big thank you to Judy for her continuous communication, assistance, and follow-up. Overall, Pudong MO continues to impress with every detail living up to its reputation. I was very satisfied with this stay."

Check-in: July 19th - July 23rd at Lingang Jinjiang International Hotel Executive Apartment. I must give a special shout-out to our butler, Yuanyuan. Our entire family vacation was worry-free and comfortable, all thanks to her meticulous and incredibly thoughtful service! Even before we arrived, Yuanyuan proactively reached out to discuss our travel needs. Upon learning that we had an elderly family member with mobility issues, she promptly prepared a wheelchair in advance and made all check-in arrangements. When we arrived, everything went smoothly without any waiting or hassle. Anticipating our late arrival, she thoughtfully familiarized herself with the hotel's restaurants and afternoon tea areas. She proactively helped us coordinate and adjust our daily dining schedule to fit our family's tastes and routines, saving us from repetitive communication. Throughout our five-day stay, Yuanyuan considered every big and small detail in advance. She always had things arranged before we even had to ask. She was incredibly responsive and attentive to every matter, surprising us with her thoroughness. We didn't have to worry about a single thing. On our departure day, she even prepared a lovely little gift for the child, who was absolutely delighted. This kind gesture added so much warmth to our entire trip. She never intruded excessively but always kept our family's needs in mind, demonstrating professionalism, sincerity, and just the right amount of thoughtfulness. Yuanyuan deserves full credit for this perfectly stress-free vacation. The next time we visit Lingang, we'd love to have her as our butler again! Highly recommended! I'd also like to specially thank Xiao Ding and Yan Guohao from the Tea House – I've shared our experience in my review on Dianping. And to the two lovely ladies at the Chinese restaurant, we were so happy that I forgot to write down their names! The lady in black knew our child loved cherry tomatoes and specially ran after us as we left to hand them to the child. That little gesture moved us deeply. We took those cherry tomatoes with us, and we also took with us the thoughtfulness and dedication of the Jinjiang staff! Thank you, Yuanyuan! Thank you all! We will definitely be back!

The hotel's location is truly exceptional, nestled by the Suzhou Creek on the North Bund, right next to the historic Waibaidu Bridge. It offers panoramic views of Lujiazui and the iconic Bund skyline. The hotel's understated Baroque luxury seamlessly blends with the neoclassical style of the Bund, exuding sophisticated elegance. The hotel lobby is a grand affair, featuring a massive crystal chandelier, soaring ceilings, and a majestic marble staircase. Adorned with captivating artworks and sculptures, it feels like an immersive art space – a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern sophistication. Every corner speaks of prestige and refinement. Our room was incredibly comfortable and spacious, with exquisite design and meticulous attention to detail. Both the room's size and amenities were simply perfect. Breakfast is served on the second floor in the Western restaurant, which boasts expansive views. Every table offers a glimpse of the Suzhou Creek and the Bund, making it wonderfully comfortable and relaxing to enjoy breakfast by the window while watching the river. The only minor drawbacks were the slightly large gap under the shower door, which could lead to water spilling out if the showerhead was pointed incorrectly. Also, the buffet selection at breakfast wasn't particularly extensive, and there were limited bread options. However, the à la carte menu was quite good. Overall, our stay was very satisfying.

They gave us an ideal room with a view of the Pearl Tower! The service was excellent; they really went out of their way to help us due to our flight cancellation because of a typhoon. At the reception, there were Russian-speaking hostesses, and the local hostesses also spoke decent English. The rooms truly felt like heavy luxury! Everything worked perfectly. On the downside, breakfast was very specifically Chinese, you really had to pick and choose what to eat to avoid food you weren't accustomed to. Also, the hotel allegedly miscalculated our stay twice, increasing the cost retroactively each time. Another unpleasant detail is that booking this hotel through Trip.com is considered a pre-booking, and you will effectively be charged twice at the hotel itself, plus a deposit for your stay. The pre-booking amount will only be refunded a few days after checkout – just be prepared for this.

An absolutely wonderful experience! **Facilities:** Even though it's an older hotel, I was initially worried the facilities might be outdated. But when I arrived, I realized there was no need to worry at all. The overall vibe is one of rich heritage and understated luxury, without feeling old-fashioned. I personally loved it. **Hygiene:** The hygiene was excellent; I didn't notice any issues. **Environment:** Simply fantastic. Both the hotel itself and the guests staying there collectively create an atmosphere that made me feel it was truly great value for money. This is a hotel with genuinely sincere service and a superb location, well worth experiencing. I absolutely loved it.

The hotel boasts an excellent location with breathtaking views of both sides of the Bund right outside the window. You can directly access the North Bund promenade from the hotel's second floor, making it very convenient for a stroll. Breakfast is served until noon, allowing for a leisurely brunch, and the spread is extensive with good quality. The rooftop bar offers panoramic views of the Bund, though it's a bit warm this time of year. The room layout is well-designed and comfortable, but I'm not sure if it's due to the age of the decor, as the floorboards are slightly warped.

Stepping into the room, I was immediately greeted by the towering 'Huangpu River Four-Piece Set' (referring to the iconic skyscrapers) outside the window. Sitting on the sofa, the Huangpu River unfolded before me like a dynamic scroll painting. The bedding was incredibly soft and delicate; I instinctively wrapped myself tightly in the duvet. The Aesop pine-scented amenities were elegant and long-lasting, perfectly matching the Waldorf's style. The walk-in closet was well-designed and practical. I had bought some 'Ice Beauty,' 'Goddess,' 'Pink Iron Cannon,' and 'Orange Dream' flowers, and was using the room's trash can as a makeshift vase. The thoughtful Nini noticed and kindly replaced it with a beautiful glass vase. 👍 Aaron and Katrina provided meticulous and attentive service. It was a great 4-day experience. I'll definitely be back.

Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai, by Hyatt

9.2/10
Very Good

USFrequent.traveler
I’ve been a loyal guest at Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai for quite some time, drawn back again and again by the genuinely warm service, attention to detail, and the way the team always makes me feel recognised and valued. Unfortunately, this stay was a sharp departure from everything I’ve come to love about the hotel, solely because of one check-in experience that left a very bitter taste. I had noted in advance during booking that I would prefer a high-floor corner room – not a demand, simply a preference that in the past has often been thoughtfully accommodated when availability allows. Upon arrival, I approached the reception and was assisted by Iris. I handed over my passport, and she confirmed the length of my stay. When I politely asked if a corner room might be possible, her response was cold and curt: she told me I had booked a regular king room, that she would not upgrade me, and that if I wanted such a room I should pay more. No smile, no warmth, no attempt to soften the refusal. It was less what she said and more how she said it – she made me feel embarrassed, almost as if I were being put in my place for even asking, as though booking a standard room somehow meant I couldn’t afford better. At a hotel of this calibre, I don’t think any guest should be made to feel that way. Still taken aback, I was then asked whether I wanted a room near the elevator or not. Already unhappy with the interaction, I said it didn’t matter. She then assigned me what can only be described as the worst possible room – directly next to the elevator on the 16th floor. When I saw the location, I was genuinely shocked. I went straight back down and told her I didn’t want to sleep next to the elevator, and she eventually moved me to a higher floor. Throughout the entire process, there was not a single smile, no “enjoy your stay” – nothing that even remotely resembled hospitality. I left the desk feeling like an inconvenience. It’s worth mentioning that based on the room rates and availability that day, the hotel was absolutely not fully booked, so this wasn’t a case of simply having no better rooms to offer. It felt like a deliberate lack of care, and it stung particularly because it came from a hotel where I’m used to staff remembering my preferences and quietly making each long stay a little more comfortable – not because I expect a free upgrade, but because that thoughtfulness is what makes a regular guest feel truly welcome. A standard room has always been perfectly fine; it’s the attitude and the willingness to accommodate small preferences that made me appreciate this place so much. This time, that spirit was completely absent at check-in. What makes this all the more frustrating is that every single other staff member I encountered – and there were many, too many to name – was excellent, friendly, and professional, just as I’ve always known them to be. One day during my stay, I had lunch at the lobby bar, and both the food and service were wonderful. On my departure day, I didn’t even bother with a formal checkout; I simply handed my key to the lady at the reception desk and left. The doorman was, as ever, kind and exceptionally helpful with my luggage. These are the people who reminded me why I keep coming back. I really do hope the hotel takes this feedback to heart. One person’s attitude at the front desk can undo months of goodwill built by an otherwise outstanding team. I’ll return, because I know what this hotel is truly capable of, but I sincerely hope my next welcome feels like a welcome again.
