"Room has everthing you need (heating blanket, AC - altough not powerful enough for heating the room, waterboiler, cups) and a decent view over Deqin. However the house is quite old and even the non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes lit in past days. The owner was very helpful and, even tough we had our language barriers, tried to answer our questions."

This hotel is located near many of Deqin's attractions including Meili Snow Mountain National Park - Sunrise on the Golden Mountain, Feilai Temple Viewing Platform and Feilai Temple Scenic Area - No. 1 Viewing Platform. This hotel is a popular accommodation for groups of friends traveling together.

"Amenities: They provide heated blankets and a graphene heater, which was a lifesaver since it was snowing the day I visited. Without them, I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep. If it's going to be really cold, I'd suggest booking a place with floor heating, as this one doesn't have it. Location: It's not too far from the viewpoint, but there's a building under construction diagonally across the street, which slightly impacts the view. The rooftop has its own viewpoint with several tripods available for use. Service: There's no elevator, and even though we had luggage, no one offered to help us carry it up."

"This hotel is excellent and highly recommended. On the day of arrival, the owner helped me carry my luggage to the room because I was struggling with altitude sickness. Then, he guided me to parking and even thoughtfully placed chocks behind my car's rear wheels. In the morning, when my car was blocked, the owner immediately found the other car owner to move it. It wasn't until I reached Markam that I realized I had left my shoulder bag in the room. I contacted the owner, and he very kindly went out of his way to mail it to me in Lhasa from the county town. If I could give it a ten out of ten, I definitely would! Plus, the room offers a perfect, unobstructed view of the 'sun-kissed golden mountains,' so there's no need to go to a separate viewpoint. Highly, highly recommended."

"The room is located in the center of Deqin County, not far from the snow mountain viewing platform, making it perfect for getting up early to watch the sunrise over the golden snow-capped mountains. The room is very well heated, with underfloor heating, electric heating, and electric blankets. The owner is very welcoming. The house has a shared kitchen where you can cook. It also has a large courtyard where you can easily see a sky full of stars at night. However, the room facilities are somewhat old, there are cobwebs on the lights, and small flying insects can easily fly in if you leave the lights on and open the door at night."

"I saw on the Internet that this is a newly opened inn. I booked an ordinary triple room. I thought it was an ordinary inn. I didn't expect that the owner would warmly welcome us when we arrived at the door of the inn. It was around 2 o'clock in the morning. The owner made fried rice for us despite his daytime fatigue. I was very touched. Thank you, boss, you are great. The ordinary triple room is also very warm and there are ******* blankets woven by Tibetans themselves. Even without floor heating, it is not cold at all. Thank you again, boss. I will come again next time. I sincerely recommend it."

"If you're traveling by bus like me, this hotel is the best choice because it's right next to the bus stop, literally less than a minute's walk away. 😂 **Accommodation:** The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from Feilai Temple observation deck. They offer free breakfast, but unfortunately, I didn't get to try it due to time constraints, which was a bit of a shame. 😔 **Facilities:** They have floor heating, an oxygen concentrator, a humidifier, and a heated ceiling in the bathroom. **Service:** The uncle was very talkative and immediately invited everyone to sit down and rest. The aunt brought a cup of hot tea. The male host (I think)? He seemed a bit shy but diligently helped carry our luggage. The female host (I think)? She was gentle and detailed in explaining the room facilities and how to use the floor heating. They are a very warm and friendly family! The next morning, I saw the shy male host carefully wiping the steps and he even reminded me to be careful as the ground was slippery. **P.S.** There are thoughtful little details in every corner of the room. Check the small box in the bedside table – you're sure to find something you need. This time, I forgot my hand cream, and the snake oil balm there solved a big problem! Thank you to the whole family for your warm hospitality!"

"Among the hotels in Meili Snow Mountain, this is definitely the king of cost performance! Originally, the sanitation and facilities of high-altitude accommodation were a bit awkward, but the actual experience far exceeded expectations. The room was clean and tidy, making up for the regret of not seeing the snowy mountains."

Deqin Meet Meili Hotel is situated in the core viewing area of Feilai Temple, right next to Feilai Temple Meili Snow Mountain National Park Scenic Area. Brand-newly opened in 2025, it takes "Quiet Enjoyment of Snow Mountain Scenery + Thoughtful Accommodation" as its core highlight and has become a popular choice for trips to Meili Snow Mountain. Equipped with elevators, the hotel rooms are furnished with oxygen supply facilities and floor heating. What’s more, it features an exclusive rooftop viewing deck that offers an unobstructed panoramic view. There’s no need to rush to the observation deck—here, you can enjoy a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the magnificent landscape where snow-capped mountains and canyons interweave, and fully indulge in the breathtaking scenes of Golden Sunlight Illuminating the Snow-capped Peaks, starry skies and seas of clouds.

"I had a very satisfying stay! The room was nice and warm, newly decorated, and had good soundproofing. It even came with an oxygen concentrator, and all the facilities were complete. Most importantly, the location is excellent – the Feilai Temple viewing platform is right downstairs, and the rooftop viewing platform offers unobstructed views. The owner was incredibly nice. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Meili Snow Mountain. The picture is of the 'Golden Mountain' sunrise on Meili Snow Mountain, taken from the hotel. So grateful to have seen the sacred mountain, Tashi Delek!"

Perfect
MMax_S02Firstly, this has to be one of the nicest places which I stayed at in Yunnan, or in China for that matter. You may be thinking that is price is good to be true, but this place performs well above what is to be expected of that price range. I was originally planning to stay elsewhere in Benzilan, but am very glad that I stayed here. The rooms are super spacious with high ceilings and wooden furniture. The view out of my window was very green and calming. The amenities were all well-maintained and very clean. The pictures really don't do the rooms the justice that they deserve. Secondly, and very importantly, the owner - a young Benzilan local who operates the hotel with his mother - is exceptionally kind, genuine and friendly. As a solo traveller, he helped organise transport, offered lunch, and even some of the local liquor. As far as service goes, this place remains unbeaten amongst all the places I've travelled in China. The hotel overlooks the mountains surrounding Benzilan. In the evening, you can peacefully sit outside the hotel on its elevated terrace and quietly watch the mountains as the sun goes down. I would not hesitate to stay again.

GGuest UserWhen I travel, I always look at reviews before booking. After extensive research, this place came up to be the most highly rated. Even though it wasn’t located as well as the other hotels (i will address why this is not a problem later). Firstly, the decor was beautifully Tibetan-themed. We got our room upgraded for free. This accommodation is new, so the facilities are extremely modern, with floor heating, smart-room features, and the most advanced toilet bidet system ever! There’s washing and even drying features, first time I’ve ever seen in a toilet! Secondly, the service was top-notch. The owner offers to drive you to the sunrise viewing platform, which is about 3 minutes drive away, and even offers to drive you to stargaze at night! This was certainly not expected, which I think the owner had done very well in. There’s even a small fitness corner if you’re interested in working out. All in all, this was one of my favourite stays in Yunnan!

GGuest UserI have to give this hotel a perfect score, not a single false note from start to finish! The front desk staff greeted me with a smile upon arrival, and check-in was quick and efficient. Any requests I had were promptly addressed. The service was attentive yet discreet, never intrusive. The cleanliness was the most pleasant surprise – every corner, the sink, and the toilet were spotless. The bedding was clean, fluffy, and had a subtle, pleasant scent. The room was brightly lit and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing me to recover from my journey overnight. The amenities were comprehensive, and the toiletries were high quality. Downstairs, there's a supermarket and various dining options, and transportation is convenient. The overall ambiance is quiet and elegant, making it suitable for both leisure and business travel. It far surpasses other hotels in the same price range. I genuinely recommend everyone to choose this hotel!

AAnonymous UserThey say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise. Let's talk about the downsides: 1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road. 2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though. 3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

GGuest UserMy room was as described. Functional and nice and warm (with heating on) with an excellent hot shower and nice wooden wall beams. The people who run the place are lovely and also offer nice breakfast options in the morning. The only small note I have is that (despite best efforts and a very modern ventilation system in the bathroom) the bathroom is already moldy. I understand that it's a challenge to get under control given the climate. I would stay again next time, and actually spend more than just one night here. There is so much you can explore here!

GGuest UserFacilities: The whole smart home system was very convenient, the room was spacious, and the underfloor heating was lovely. The oxygen concentrator also had a nasal cannula option. Hygiene: Very clean. Environment: It's directly opposite the Feilai Temple bus stop, which is super convenient, and only a few hundred meters from the viewing platform. Service: Excellent! Both ladies were very sweet and promptly helped resolve any issues.

KKathkath123I’m sharing my honest feedback in the hope the owners find this useful and can use this to improve. I am coming with good intentions and wish the owners the best! If you are just looking for somewhere to lay your head after a long day of hiking and are a good sleeper, this place will suit you fine. The beds are large and comfortable. The bed heater comes in very handy and the showers are hot. The wifi signal is good. The dogs and cats are cute. With regards to where to improve, my suggestions below: 1. It is quite hard to find the place - the name is slightly different on Amap compared to Trip.com and as it’s a small village the roads don’t exactly match up with the map. Some signage would really help as other hotels have done. When you’ve been hiking for 5 hours and are tired you need some clear direction! 2. The owners have quite a relaxed and casual attitude to hospitality and I think they could do more to make you feel welcome. It is more of a homestay than a hotel - the common area doubles as the owners living space, and while the owners go about their day (eating, playing on phone, de-fleaing their cats) it can on occasion feel like you are intruding upon their space. A little hospitality would go a long way - a smile or acknowledgment when you enter the room, the offer of a hot drink on arrival or a warm welcome after your long hike to the village for example. 3. I think the above is especially true for foreign guests- I can speak and read some Mandarin so was able to get by, but it would be difficult if you had no understanding of the language and the hosts are not particularly forthcoming with help or information. This stands out as everywhere else we have been in China hosts have been so hospitable and willing to help - translation apps are so useful here. Just a simple one pager of what you offer, the menu, kitchen hours etc translated into English is my suggestion! 4. There is absolutely no soundproofing in the room. You can hear every footstep, whisper and noise from the adjoining rooms - if you are a light sleeper you will wake up. I would really recommend that this is addressed for guests’ peace! 5. Install one non-squat toilet in the shared bathroom area, so guests who aren’t used to these can use another type of toilet! Unfortunately, there is still quite a bit of construction going on around but there’s nothing that the hosts can do about that - it is everywhere in the village. We weren’t lucky enough to experience good weather while we were there but I have no doubt the views would have been incredible!

MM347362****The biggest pleasant surprise of my Yubeng trip was definitely this guesthouse. Opening the window revealed a breathtaking vista of snow-capped mountains and pristine forests; when shrouded in mist, it felt like a fairyland. Waking up to that view each morning was truly healing – the scenery is so stunning it left me speechless! What made it even better was the warm service, especially from the front desk staff. They were incredibly enthusiastic and attentive throughout, patiently helping us plan our hiking routes, reminding us of important precautions, and even proactively drying our soaking wet hiking shoes after our treks. The attention to detail showed so much warmth. Staying here offers both the tranquil beauty of nature and the thoughtful care of family. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Yubeng!

GGuest UserA lack of budget options in Yubeng has left this place somewhat complacent in its upkeep, and general care-factor. If you can’t find any staff for afternoon check-in, you can try checking behind the desk to see if there’s one asleep there, like we did. The room had an oil heater and electric blankets which was great. The beds were clean and comfy, and the make-shift plumbing produced lots of hot water. There was an AC unit installed as advertised, but it was not able to be connected to the electricity outlet. When asked, a staff member informed us that AC was “not allowed” and that the unit did not have a heating function anyway. The view from the rooms is oriented down and across the valley, rather than towards the snowy peaks. You would pay a lot less for this standard of accommodation elsewhere in China, but given that it is in Yubeng, the remoteness necessarily increases its cost. both Upper and Lower Yubeng are experiencing a huge construction boom, no doubt in anticipation of the upcoming opening of the upgraded road to Xidang. The future situation might well increase competition in the future.
